I'm new to all this and wondered what the best way to apply sun bleaching/fading is. I have an object (primarily red but with other colours too) and I want it to look like it's been left in the sun for a prolonged period.
View 6 RepliesIs there a way to accomplish a gradient fade using geometric patterns (circles, squares, etc.) to fade one image into another image or into a solid color (example image attached)? Perhaps a plug-in has been made to accomplish this feat or somethhing similar?

he is using it for wallpapers, he wants the wallpapers part of the main image on its own layer, so that it is translucent then when you go over it, it will go to full color (no tranparency). do i have to do this as a gif and make it a rollover or something, do i need to make it a seperate image?
how to fade to transparency by myself I am left with a residue problem when saving to a different file format.
I took my square image and pasted as a layer. Behind this is a raster layer flood filled with black (As the image will be going onto a black t-shirt). I used a rounded rectangle selection tool to make a mask somewhere just inside the image borders. I then applied a Gaussian blur to the mask and it faded the edges of the image beautifully. I checked with the black background layer off and again it faded nicely into transparency.
Now my issue is that when I save it as a PNG file (with background set to transparency of course) and try to use it against various coloured backgrounds there seems to be a white glow around the edges where it is meant to fade out.
I am using Pro X3 in full editor. When using Presets, if I select a preset such as an arrow from the drop down menu, the drop down menu seems to cover the Apply button. I can place a preset in my image but I cannot find the apply button while working from the Preset sub menu. The object retains the edit frame until I close the image, then I am asked if I want to APPLY before saving.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI was reading a tutorial on Photoshop about using a gradient map on a brush (the case in point was of drawing fire, with four colours, black, red yallow and white, making up the gradient map) such that you'd paint just once to get all four colours from each brush stroke. Here is an example. I was wondering how to do that in PSP X3 Ultimate. I am not new to PSP but I never used the more complicated brush features. Scripting doesn't scare me too much, if it comes to that, but I'd prefer a manual approach.

View 1 Replies View Relatedto make the text image in the attached file. I want to apply a bevel to the text now that I have alpha masked it to get the gradient effect. But the bevel tool is treating the entire image (not just the text) as my selected object.
When I get done with the alpha mask, how do I get the text only as my selected object so that the bevel tool will apply the bevel to only the text?
I'm trying to get the text effect in this link: [URL] or something close to it. A previous post asked the same thing but the only answers he got was how to make it look gold, not how to do all the beveling, textures, sparkles, etc. For now though, all I'm wanting to do is achieve the bevel effect before I move on.
edit: the weird thing is, I can use the outline tool and it will apply only to the text. but when i use the bevel tool, it applies to the outer edges of the canvas.
Also, can I add text of different fonts and colors in the same image?

For example, if I run the following effects I have to apply it to each image one effect at a time and repeat for each image that I want the exact same effects applied but would prefer to do it all in one go
Blur/(GPU) Gaussian Blur
Noise/Reduce Noise
Photo/Sharpen+
I use these to clean up the moire from scans and reduce dust/dirt then apply a mild sharpen effect to bring back the now softenend image back up slightly. Being able to have presets would be a real bonus for quick clean ups, of digital camera images or camera phone images
I found it by spending a bit more time looking through the menus, under the Effect menu and the Advanced tab and creating a custom effects script ......
But now would like to see if I can have a list of presets instead of having to load them through the script engine one at a time, maybe an option under the 'Effects/Presets' menu option listing all the scripts that are currently saved.
I'm looking to take a certain part of an image (a small shape of it) and then apply darkening, progressively, from that small area. That is, the image gets darker and darker as it radiates out from that shape. Like a vignette, but progressively darkening from the point rather than a strait darkness.
Tried playing around with curves and didn't really do this effect.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI want to create an illustration with black outlines. Within these outlines I want to have some spots without outlines that stay clean within the lines. I have tried 3 options so far and have found a solution but it's far from ideal.
1. Create clipping masks for each element that has a spot on it and assign a stroke to the clipping path again after. However by creating the clipping path, the path styles dissapear. In this case I want to keep the pointed ends to the open path outlines (see top image).
2. Draw in the lines where the spots are and create a live paint object of the entire illustration. Then paint in the spots and other areas. However when I create this live paint object the lines again lose their applied styles and even 'end' at each intersection, creating nasty edges where the lines should go 'underneath' smoothly (see bottom image).
3. The option Im using now. Duplicate the path outlines and create clipping masks for the spots without strokes. Then put the stroked outline with the desired styles on top. The problem with this is that I have almost twice as much elements in my illustration now than I actually 'need'. And the styled outlines are not connected with the color underneath, so its very easy to accidentally move something around...
Any easier way to create this effect without all the hassle?
I have a hatch pattern in one of my objects. I want to apply exactly the same hatch pattern to other objects but I don't remember the settings for original hatch.
There is a command in ACAD to apply properties of one object to others (brush icon in toolbar). I tries to use this command but it seams that it doesn't work for hatch.
What is easiest way to apply a hatch pattern from an object to the other one?
I have seen a number of photos with a fade in the edges, eg
a picture of a person with a white background, and the edge faded to brend in with the background.
Anyone know of a good technique to have on pic blend into another. I don't have any good examples, but what I'd like to do is have a pic on the left side fade at the halfway point to a pic on the left. I know photoshop does it with colors, but not sure how to do it with pictures of objects.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using videos as PiP's and I want to use the fade in/out feature, but am finding that it takes 15 seconds for the fade to complete, some of the PiPs I am using are only 45 seconds long, so to fade in/out is going to take 30 seconds leaving only 15 seconds of full video. Is there any way that the fade time frame can be reduced. In Elements 11, fade in/out takes 1 second and this is what I would like to achieve in X6 if it's possible.
