I added a layer, then theres no way to add any picture in new layer. If I import from file, it makes a new background .layer. But I want to make a new layer as forground and insert picture in it.
I am making a video in Nero Vision 10 and need to cut out the screen of a tv so that I can layer the TV over an image/video so it looks as though it is on the screen. I enclose a screenshot of the project. 'Transform-tools-crop' only cuts in straight lines so I wonder which device I should use which can cut out an odd bespoke shape? You can see in the uploaded image from the project how the image currently cannot fill the frame without covering it.
So after I insert a new layer into the image, I want to move it around. However, I want its location to be precise - like how you can type in the exact coordinates of a selection. Is there any way to do this?
When I insert one layer from one image file to another file I find it difficult to align it. I ensure that both layers are the same DPI and the same pixel dimension. But when I drag one layer on the other file it is hard to align it so that it exactly lays on top/underneath the other. And even when I ensure thet layer is the same size it doesn't always seem to align size wise with the existing layer. This is the one area that I am struggling wtih on Elements and I want to use this a fair amount. I had Elements 11 and have just upgraded to Elements 12. Haven't seen a tutorial video on this, but maybe I missed it.
I'm new to Paint shop. Is it possible to clip an adjustment layer or image to just the layer below it like in Photoshop? Or maybe Paint shop calls it something else?
I would like to make a composite image with source images making up the various layers (so I can work my magic on each layer indepent of the others). The problem I have is that not all of the images I'm using are to the right scale. What I want to do is resize those layers that are too big. Here's an example...
Let's say I have 5 pictures that I want to use to make one composite image from. The main background layer will be made from an image that is, say 800x600.
Another picture (let's call this subject 1) is 600x600 and is already at the right scale if I cut out the portion I want to keep and lay it on top of the background layer.
Yet another picture (subject 2) is huge (think 2000x2000). I would like to cut out the portion I would like to use and drop it in as a new layer and then obviously re-size it down to the correct scale. I'd prefer to do this directly in the composite image I'm making on its own layer to ensure I get the size right (and without manipulating the image guess-work style before I cut/paste it in).And so on...
I've found ways to make the canvas bigger (not what I want to do)... but not anything on how to resize the images on individual layers without impacting the other layers. Is there a way to do this?
Wondering is there a way to automatically resize a new layer to fit the dimensions of the image your working on, eg. auto resize a border to the outer dimensions of a picture..?
The attached image has transparencythat I don't want.
What I would like to do is eliminate all transparency from the image so that I can then use the eraser tool to make transparent the areas that I want transparent.
I can't figure out how to remove all transparency from the image / layer. I'm new to paint.net, it may be obvious to others how to do this but not to me
The layer properties (where I thought I'd fix this) show opacity 255 now but the image still has unwanted transparency.
It try bring an image into paint layer. I found that there is this function:
PaintLayerImporter() and it takes 4 parameters. They are:
1) const QString &sFileName, ///< Name of the file to import 2) int iFileTypeIndex, < Index of the type of the file in the array returned by SupportedExtensions
3) Mesh *pMesh, ///< Mesh which contains the paint layer 4) TexturePool *pTarget ///< Destination of the import operation
But I'm not able to get this function to work. Any small example how to use it.
I think that main problem for me is that I don't know exactly what 2) parameter means(int iFileTypeIndex). It says that you get that from SupportedExtensions but When I look at it:
When I Select All/Copy a photo to Paste as New Layer on top of another photo, it always pastes as a humongous image. I have to scroll & scroll & scroll down to find grab handles, then fiddle & fiddle resizing the image to the same size as the underlying photo. I take the photos with the same camera. Seems to me the photos ought to be the same size!
An image of a tree with fine branches in winter against a sky I want to darken. My goal is to create a duplicate layer of the image to darken but where the tree is transparent so I can put the darkened layer on top of the orignal image with an undarkened tree. Before my computer crashed, I used a plugin for this called, I thought, Alpha Mask. In this example, by selecting a spot on the tree I could make either everything the color of the tree or everything not disappear into transparency. But I can't seem to find the plugin now. I did look at the index of plugins and found some listings under Alpha, but none are described as the tool I need here (best I can tell).
I created a image (with blank background) with dimensions 640 x 480 (its my default working image).
I have copied photograph with dimensions 7300 x 4200 and pasted as new layer on the image (640 x 480). Obviously, the pasted photograph is bigger and it couldn't be showed totally. I am adjusting the size of the photograph manually, dragging and dropping its corner lots of time.
I tried to use "image => resize" / "image => canvas size". But it just act on my default image (640 x 480), not the photograph (even when its layer is selected).
So, is there any way of resize the photograph automatically to fit in the default image (640 x 480)?
I'am trying to add an image (.jpg format) into the .psd file containing few layers.
I am able to do the same directly from photoshop by just selecting the portion of the layer where i need to insert image using pen tool then paste the image and resized it.
I've got a Photoshop file that someone wants me to use as a template. It has an existing layer that I need to put a picture into without modifying the layer or creating a new one.
Everytime I add a picture it comes up as a new layer. How can I add it to the existing one?
I would like to insert a photo layer within a background? For example I have a background that has two individuals in it. I would like to insert a photo of another individual between them from a seperate photo.
! would assume that something like this has been made but i cant for the life of me find it when shall i find a plugin or default way of doing this i have about 50 layers that need saving as an image each and the idea of doing it by hand scares me.
I use the same label style for multiple objects (surfaces) with different layers (i.e. Concrete, Pavement, etc.) I have the label style set to Layer 0, to take on the layer properties I want the label on. When I insert a label, it defaults to Layer 0, then I have to change it's layer. Is there a way to insert a label on the current layer?
There are certain occasions where I would like to insert a block to inherit the current layer in an active AutoCAD drawing. This happens frequently when a client requires a certain layering standard and I have a block from another drawing with different layering standards. To correct this it usually involves several steps - Explode and change the layer, setbylayer, bedit, etc,
Is there a command to where I can directly insert a block and its layers change to the current layer of the active AutoCAD drawing?
We are using autocad 2010 and I have written a routine that will insert several blocks on to several layers. I thought it worked flawlessly, until I used it. Our drawings use layer states. When one state is in use, all the other layers are frozen. We want to insert a block, at a specific point chosen by the user, and the lisp routine will insert a couple of other blocks at that same point, but on a layer that is frozen. Three blocks installed in all, at the same point, on two layers. The routine works if all layers are thawed, but not if the layers are frozen.
(defun c:lP1 () ; this starts the routine (setq temperr *error*) ; saves *error* (setq *error* rerr) ; sets the new error variable (command "_.Undo" "_mark") ; start of "undo" command [code]....
Today i opened a psd file which 200 layers. Paint.net is very slow then (as all layers are flatten, pdn is missing hierarchical layers), but that is another problem.
I wanted to hide some background layers and "copy merged" a selection.
It took me 10mn to find all the backgrounds layers without this tool.
In photoshop the tool exist as a property of the "move selection" tool. Ie: you must first select the move selection tool, then select "layer" in the properties toolbar.
Any way to get that for v4 ? Will v4 be on github so we can clone and make patches ?
I want to copy an part of image A into an selection of picture B.
Using the command " Insert into selection" works, but i get a distortion of image A. The relation of heigth/width is changed by PSP, so that image A fits into the selection, but this is not what I need. I would prefer the parts of image A that don't fit into the selection being cropped.
