I'am trying to add an image (.jpg format) into the .psd file containing few layers.
I am able to do the same directly from photoshop by just selecting the portion of the layer where i need to insert image using pen tool then paste the image and resized it.
I realize that JPEGs are not transparant, but I've tried using Clipping path to do effect from a copy the image as a path but have not successfully clipped out the image. ....

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to place some pictures (.jpeg, bitmap, whatever) onto an inventor drawing but it won't let me. I see when you create a sketch in a drawing there is an "image" option in the insert tab, however this option is always grayed out for me no matter what I try.
The way I insert pictures on a drawing now is just to create a part, put the image as a decal on that part and create a view in a drawing with a shaded view. However with this option the lighting shows up and kills the image quality and it seems too complicated to be the correct way.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I insert one layer from one image file to another file I find it difficult to align it. I ensure that both layers are the same DPI and the same pixel dimension. But when I drag one layer on the other file it is hard to align it so that it exactly lays on top/underneath the other. And even when I ensure thet layer is the same size it doesn't always seem to align size wise with the existing layer. This is the one area that I am struggling wtih on Elements and I want to use this a fair amount. I had Elements 11 and have just upgraded to Elements 12. Haven't seen a tutorial video on this, but maybe I missed it.

I am writing just to check that these photos are lost forever or whether there was some very clever way of getting them back, by removing the added lines boxes etc.
i want to export the little button in the top left hand corner that sais "Westcoast" (which consists of 2 layers) as a jpeg without exporting the whole photoshop file. The only way i know how to do this is hide all the other layers and size the canvas around that little button. And even then the canvas is rectangular while the button has curved edges...so some of the canvas would still be showing.

There are certain occasions where I would like to insert a block to inherit the current layer in an active AutoCAD drawing. This happens frequently when a client requires a certain layering standard and I have a block from another drawing with different layering standards. To correct this it usually involves several steps - Explode and change the layer, setbylayer, bedit, etc,
Is there a command to where I can directly insert a block and its layers change to the current layer of the active AutoCAD drawing?
We are using autocad 2010 and I have written a routine that will insert several blocks on to several layers. I thought it worked flawlessly, until I used it. Our drawings use layer states. When one state is in use, all the other layers are frozen. We want to insert a block, at a specific point chosen by the user, and the lisp routine will insert a couple of other blocks at that same point, but on a layer that is frozen. Three blocks installed in all, at the same point, on two layers. The routine works if all layers are thawed, but not if the layers are frozen.

Just as it sounds, my client wants to be able to set the layers up in a drawing file so that all CC parts come in on a specific layer on the drawing.
I'm looking at the layers and the Object Defaults menus in Style Editor but not finding a way to accomplish this.
I would like to know if its possible to import a jpeg or bmp picture as a layer so I can take dimensions from to build a proper drawing. I am trying to follow some instructions in creating plans for boats and it says I can, but I cant.

I did not create the logo so I have no idea how to bring in layers from Illustrator or Photo Shop. I am not familiar with either program but I have watched a former colleague separate the layers (aplha channels, etc..) it's all Greek to me. View 10 Replies View RelatedI am making a video in Nero Vision 10 and need to cut out the screen of a tv so that I can layer the TV over an image/video so it looks as though it is on the screen. I enclose a screenshot of the project. 'Transform-tools-crop' only cuts in straight lines so I wonder which device I should use which can cut out an odd bespoke shape? You can see in the uploaded image from the project how the image currently cannot fill the frame without covering it.

1) From LR export to PS
2) Do all essential editings.
3) Save. File become 'xyz.tiff' now. (I want to keep this as master copy)
4) Crop to 4r, Save a Jpeg copy as 'xyz 4r.jpg'
5) PS save it as a copy, but do not automatically open the Jpeg copy. The tiff remains opened. I have to manullay Open, browse to it, and open the Jpeg. The 'Open Recent' list also do not list 'xyz 4r.jpg'.
6) Do 4r sharpening for the 'xyz 4r.jpg', save it.
Basically the files I want to keep and worked on is like this: NEF -> xyz.tiff -> xyz 4r.jpg -> xyz sml.jpg(maybe)
Now, it there a way in step (5) to have PS save the JPEG copy, and automatically open it? I don't care if the Tiff copy remains opened or not, I am done with it.
I got a new computer (Windows 7) at work this April and as of today, when I work on any of my JPEG images in PS CS5,suddenly it has defaulted its "Save As" to JPEG2000. How did this default change and how do I get it to default save as. JPEG again? There was nothing I noticed and no warning as to why this has changed, I didn't touch a thing!
(Last week, Adobe had to work with our IT manager to fix a problem that started occuring with my new Adobe Acrobat Pro 11 program. They had to log into my computer and change a registry thing to get it to work properly again...also something that changed without warning!!)
I'm using a Mac. My windows friend sent me a jpeg of a piece of art we're working on. It looked fine in the web browser. It looked fine in Preview when I opened it, and it looked fine in Photoshop. But when I save it from photoshop after adding just a small thing to the image, the whole thing comes out a bit brighter. I have no idea what's doing it. I've tried Save For Web and Save As and it comes out the same each time. I have played with color settings in the past slightly, but it was my understanding that only affected how photoshop displays the image and I wouldn't expect it to change an image I imported then exported again.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI write a program, this program needs to insert some standard illustrations. I made these standard illustrations into different blocks. And I store these blocks in a dwg file. Everytime I need to insert some illustrations, I just click the mouse on the current drawing, I want the illustration inserted. These means the following points:
(1) Import the blocks to the current drawing, if the blocks have already been imported, then do nothing.
(2) Specify the insert point by clicking the mouse, and I want the block's insert point to coincide with the mouse clicking point.
I am trying to insert OS Tiles into a drawing using the insert x-ref command. I have managed to insert 192 tiles but still need to add 29 more tiles to complete. When I try to insert another x reference AutoCAD just goes into a continual loop. Have to force AutoCAD to crash after ten minutes.
I am using AutoCAD 2014 MAP and have just had a new system built (i5 processor, 8GB RAM).
Print to JPEG in LR5.2 produces a corrupt JPEG file that cannot be opened.
Lightroom is running on MacPro. When printing I am attaching an ICC profile provided by the bureau that is going to produce the prtins. Having said this the file cannot be opened neither on a Mac nor on a Windows PC.
Up until now, i used to exported as TIFFs but after reading Jeff Schewe book The Digital Print i have become convinced that printing through LR to a file is much more efficient.
