Paint.NET :: Fine Tune Vertical Position Of Text
Mar 18, 2011How do I fine tune the vertical position of text?

View 1 RepliesI have inserted instant project T04 in my VSX5 timeline and imported an image into the placeholder.I distorted the image to (what I thought) fit the placeholder. When I play it back, the imported image is not a perfect fit in the place holder frame.I cant find a way to get back to the overlayed image so that I can fine tune the image to fit the placeholder.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I use a vertical text the letters are always so far apart and they get mishap when I squish them closer and then have to expand horizontally .
Any setting to solve this problem other than putting each letter on a separate layer?
Currently using X3,X4,X5
This part is logical. Add text to a vector layer and write a script to show the text and the position. From what I can tell, the Characters key is the text and the Start key is the (X,Y) position.
So far no problem, click the text 1 pixel right and the Start[0] increases by 1. Same with 1 pixel down and Start[1] increases by 1.
Now for the crunch... Rotate the text and Start does not change (no matter how much you move the text).
By trail and error, I find that the Matrix key changes.
Now, Matrix has 9 values and from what I can tell Matrix[0], Matrix[1], Matrix[3] and Matrix[4] somehow relate to angle. Probably sin and cos of the angle from the x- and y- axis respectively.
Matrix [2] and Matrix[5] do increase linearly with shifts in x and y. How does this relate to the actual position of the text
You can see a more detailed description of the problem and my sample script here. [URL]

I have a Autocad 2011, and I want to enter text in page but the ruler is in vertical position and not horizontal as normal. I searched all the settings but I found nothing .
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have noticed a small annoying behavior of autocad when adding certain characters to an MText object.
For example, if I have MText containing "hello" it will be at a different vertical position to MText containing "hello/". Autocad changes the vertical placement when adding characters it seems, possibly to avoid clashing.
Is there anyway to suppress the auto adjustment autocad makes to the vertical placement to accommodate these characters? I have the text elements spaced suitably from the line to avoid clashes but some wire numbers have characters and some don't, so it leaves the drawing looking somewhat messy. (see below)
Currently i have to adjust each wire number containing characters so it sits at the right vertical placement.

This is a recent phenomonom, the shade of objects changes depending on their vertical position on the artboard. If I move an object from the top of the artboard to the bottom it becomes lighter, and these changes remain even after it is saved as a png- this is driving me crazy!!! it is very slight, but still enough to cause a headache. If you look at this image you can see that the top blue box is slightly darker than the blue box at the bottom, event though this is the exact same box copied and pasted down the artboard.

Is it possible to write a plugin to

* press context button (mouse button 2) and spawn a dedicated input box to "hand it in"?
I'm in trouble with PSPSX6.
I have an script running fine with my old PSP (X4, X5). But in X6 the result in not good.
I use the script to insert the date on upper right corner of my pitcures. This data is found in Exif of the picture.
I use an fucntion returning the date, but with X6 , the result it not correct.
The source code is
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
def FormatDate( InputExif, Format ):
''' Use the time.strftime method to format a date string in various ways.
The input exif date is always formatted as yyyy:mm:dd hh:mm:ss, so the first
step is to convert that to a time tuple. We do that by changing the one lone
space to a colon, then using split to give us a tuple that coincidentally
matches the one used by time.

If I create a tiff from Photomatix, whether it's 8 bit or 16 bit, PSP X4 just can't handle it.

Yet when I load the exact same file to PSP X3 it's fine.

I have PSP 15.2.0.12, win 7 64-bit machine with ample power and graphics card. Regularly run multiple CAD programs and so on.
When I double-click the desktop icon to launch the product it crashes - always.
When I double-click an image in Windows Explorer, it launches OK and opens the file with the Edit tab active.

Once a selection is made with the selection tool using a fixed ratio, how can I move it or make fine adjustments to the size of the selected area that maintain that ratio?
View 10 Replies View RelatedWhen I move my mouse over the drawing area, the brush simply freezes at the corner next to the rulers, the regular cursor continues to move and I can click on the buttons, tools and menu, but my mouse is not functioning in the workspace, I can use my wacom tablet fine, but I still need my mouse to be functional for lassoo tools etc.
It is a very recent install, I may have some how buggered the mouse input when configuring my wacom.
I'm running Arch Linux, with KDE.
Just grabbed Scott's book from amazon and can't wait to get a better understanding about some of the tools I've been using. In the meantime I just noticed that I have some white trails or fine lines in an image I'm working on that appear after I have been moving things around and deleting sections etc.
It's no problem on a little image like this to run around with the brush to tidy it up and then fill white/transparent, but I'm wondering if there is there a setting or an order of working that avoids making the lines in the first place?I have filled the background in black to show the trails...
I have created my Animation:
The stage size you see above is H: 400px, W: 550px.
I would like for the stage to be smaller, say H:50px./W:400px
Ok so if I change the size of the stage the animation text will not show, so I need to adjust the position of the text in order for the animation text to be visible, but in doing that, I am disrupting the timeline and the animation goes all funny, is there another way of doing this without disrputing the timeline?
For my business card design I have white text overlapping an area of very white grey- causing readability issues (insufficient contrast). It looks great apart from this one problem, so I still want to keep my white text and light background and fix it by separating the text and background with a darker drop shadow..
First, I added a black drop shadow to the text- but this was not enough to increase readability (text still looked faded on background as drop shadow was too subtle at 85% opacity, 0.04" blur) so I added a drop shadow to my drop shadow (100% opacity, 0.02" blur + 18% opacity, 0.02" blur). This produced a heavier drop shadow effect for my text as desired but, for some reason, the text came out slightly grey in print (offset run). It seems the drop shadow somehow got printed over the text itself to some extent- turning the white text somewhat grey (and so not looking as clean as intended).
How could this dropshadow bleed into the text happen? Is it to do with the fact I added a drop shadow to my drop shadow? I would have thought that, even then, the text should entirely overlap all of the drop shadow as the text is the top layer in the group.
What can I do to ensure that drop shadow does not print over text in any way in future? Do I have to stick to only one layer of dropshadow-or is there something else I'm missing?
in Autocad when you change the justification of text the insert snap of the text stays fixed and the text changes position around this point.
Using the JUSTIFYTEXT command you can change the justification of the text without changing its position. However this command is operated through the command bar of dynamic input. What I would like to do is to have the justification change in the quick properties this way.
My office has two desktop printers, both HP. Our Officejet 7000 wide format prints great. On the HP Officejet 7500, we are often seeing text printing errors. It will not print the text from vertical dimension strings, and cuts off some M-text at an imaginary vertical line in the middle of the text box. PDF's of the same drawing look fine. Is this a printer driver issue? Is there anything I can do within AutoCAD?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe have detail drawings that contain horizontal and vertical dimensions. They're drawn at full scale in model space and saved as individual drawings. We then insert them as blocks onto a sheet in paper space, scaling them down to 1/2", 1/4" scale ETC.
Here's the problem - all the vertical dimension text appears bolder than everything else when scaled down. Horizontal text is just fine, diagonal text also looks a little bolder though.
SO difficult to see the text change and determine if it is at the right angle when the original text is still there.
How can I only display the new "Rotating Text" without the "Original Position" text.
Tune up utilities got into my system and was finally removed by windows installer today. I tried 2 times to repair Autocad2011 civil 3d, then 3 times to reinstall it, finally removed all files I could find and tried 2 times to install. Cannot install I get eror 1402 about the key being too full or somtehing like that. It is the student version but I use it for my own use and need to access the files.

Since Corel stated pushing some upgrade notices to my PC about X6 I have been getting weird vertical noise bands on my images that had previously been fine.
This appears on RAW, and TIFF in the manage window and the edit window. JPEG images appear to be fine.
I have uploaded a file attachment after much bruh hah hah about image size in dimensions and number of bytes thta shows the problem.
I am in the process of doing an animation for a PPT presentation. I have several series of images like the one attached which represents a card with some holes in it flat (if you like) on the desktop. I'd like to rotate the image 30 degrees about its vertical axis giving the (isometric) impression that it faces to the right (or left). Is there a functionality in Paint.NET which can achieve this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to change the selection position and size by entering the numbers exactly? I find it difficult to make pixel perfect movements and it is tiresome to use the keyboard arrows to do this.
When something is selected, the position and size appear in the bottom left corner. Perhaps clicking on this could bring up a window that would let the user enter exact values.
