I have decided to put an DDR5 ATI card in my new Win7-64 build for editing photographs, compositing, etc. As I have used nVidia up to now I am unfamiliar with the ATI lines.
I have looked at both discussions here and the ATI site, but it isn't clear which cards will best drive my ASUS higher-gamut monitor. I have to build a new system right now. (Willl not overclock a i7-3770 or use two GPU cards linked with Crossfire. No plans for any gaming.) I would also like to keep this part of the build at a couple hundred or less. I saw that FirePro boards range a lot higher than Radeon, which I realize is gaming-oriented.
I hope to get DVI and Displayport as outputs. I use two 24" monitors, and the older unit can accept only DVI (or VGA, which I would avoid.)Any thoughts about the current ATI line for higher gamut?

The Illustrator swatch panel is far more advanced and user-friendly than the PS version, i.e. create swatch folders, move and delete colours from anywhere in the order etc.
I'm increasingly surprised that Adobe haven't improved it with new releases (I am now using CC software and still nothing).
Are there any plans to match the Illustrator functionality?

Why is a basic feature like creating QR-Codes (can be done by thousands of websites for free) not a standard-feature in Corel X6, a software having the ambition to be the most professional solution for graphic editing? I mean most advertises today contain a QR-Code.
I don't even speak of dynamic codes etc. but just importing a standard static "URL" QR-Code. Can I expect this to be a standard feature in upcoming versions of CorelDraw?

I'm messing around with a project for fun and I'm wondering if any of you guys know a great way to make a realistic bar code/UPC image with the thick and thin, black, vertical lines aligned up horizontally? I tried this approach into creating one, but it just wasn't working for me. Here's the method I tried to use (in case some of you have a similar method).
1) Layer 1, start with a white background (hope I didn't lose anyone with this step ;P).
2) I added a Noise filter with the settings of Monochromatic and Gaussian Blur at 400% on Layer 1.
3) Then, I applied the Motion Blur filter 90 Degrees and had the distance set to 999 pixels.
4) Then, I tried to do some adjusting with Curves to brighten it up because before this point, it was just a black and gray image.
And this is where I came close, but no go. I haven't been able to turn the gray into a solid white and I tried using the Magic Wand tool to just select the gray areas and fill them in with white, but that didn't help cause it was blurry and it wasn't all one shade of gray. Any help or if you know another method is doing this will be helpful. Yah, I could just use the line tool and just create thick and thin vertical lines all the way across, but just wondering if anyone else had a better method.

How could i get the rgb-code of every pixel from a certain picture-file. I'm putting them into a database. like this:
e.g. ( pixel 1/row 1 = #000000 ),(etc.) every pixel of the file !!
So far I only could rip the picture into pixel-files. I converted a picture-file into thousands of little 8Kb tiff's (with AppleScript).
I'm looking for an automated way to get the rgb-codes. Can't be that hard.

I am new to VB.net and I just wondering if it is possible to use some codes that we use in VBA into VB.net , things like this .
Public Sub AddTheCircle() Dim p(0 To 2) As Double, r As Double p(0) = 10: p(1) = 50: p(2) = 0 r = 150 ThisDrawing.ModelSpace.AddCircle p, rEnd Sub
If not , so how to start with VB.net parallel to Autocad ?

I use Photoshop CS3 and have multi layer PSD with which I am creating web graphics. The PSD is set up to export layer comps to files to produce a standardised set of graphics. The website has a standardised palette of 4 colours.
The vector and raster graphics within the PSD use these standard colours, however when we apply the colour scheme of a new client to the document, I have to go through the document and manually change all the colours.
I would like to find a way to globally and directly substitute one colour for another by effectively substituting one hex code for another, thus avoiding editing the layers one by one.

I am lifting mtext from a drawing and then working with the result. For some reason the "\pxi-" at the beginning of the string I am lifting is converting to " pxi-" when worked with as a string in vb.net. The result is this, when I apply the string back to mtext I get a bunch of messed up formatting codes at the beginning rather than a formatted piece of text.
This seems to be related to the "\" Is this automatically getting modified by vb or autocad when I pull the source text?

So image a picture of a red apple with a yellow background. How do I make adobe print out he colour codes of the yellow and red within the image? I know I can manually use the eyedropper tool and then find the colour codes and then manually type it in. However, I was wondering if I can get Adobe to automatically place this code on the image itself. Do I need a special customized plug-in for this?

I'm looking for a way to tag entities (for example arc) in a DXF with an numeric ID of my choosing. I've been trying to understand the DXF reference and find examples of how to do it, but there is not much information available. My interpretation of the standard is that I'm allowed to do this:
0
ARC
8
Layer1
10
-1.734315
20
-1.975000
40
0.300000
50
225.000027
51
270.000065
102
{MYAPPLICATION
2000
13
102
}
Where 2000 is my application defined code and 13 is my numeric ID value. Is this correct use of application defined codes?

I need to make them my best friend because the Subassembly Composer is basically useless unless you use the proper point coding for your SAs. This I know... I've attached an image from the Autodesk file that shows multiple point codes per link and point for the DaylightStandard Civil 3D Stock SA.
Which point codes must I use in my subassemblies to ensure I can create corridor surfaces properly down the road? For example the DaylightStandard SA shows...
P3 shows: Ditch_Out, Hinge, Hinge_Cut
P3 also shows: Daylight, Daylight_Fill
P4 = Dayltight, Daylight_Cut
If I'm building something similar in the Subassembly Composer what the heck do I focus in on for my point code. I will have issues with my Corridor surfaces down the road if I don't do this properly up front. I've seen examples where the Input / Output Parameters you define a string for the coding, is this to apply multiple codes to a point or a link?

It is my understanding that C3D will only display the first point when there's more than 1 code for a survey point.
My first thought was to copy the line in the PENZD txt file and edit so that there's only 1 code listed. I tried appending the point number with "A" and ".1" without luck I assume I would need to use the next available point number.
An example of my txt file is:
17371,298429.877,568639.651,801.030,LPM SGN This produces only the light pole symbol and not the sign.

How I can get the linetype dxf codes of a line that I select. I have tried a few different things and all I can get is the linetype name. I'm trying to write a Lisp program that draws a "template" and sets up the line types and layers etc. But I need to get this info from a current drawing so that I can put it into the program. So far the program works well, but if I take a new drawing and run the program, the line types will need to be set up and the colors on the layers. I don't think I'll have a problem with the colors as they are standard to Autocad, but the linetype used in the current drawing is "homemade".

My computer has been extremely stable for the past few years without a single BSOD... Until recently when I updated LR4 to LR5.
After a good 15-20minutes within the program, all of a sudden it will BSOD. It does not happen doing ANYTHING else with the computer, including gaming such as FSX and other simulators which can be very heavy on the GPU/Memory/etc...
I ran memtest and it passed.HD Tune on my HD's, no errors.I reduced my overlock to be sure it was not a voltage issue or something, but same results. Prime95, passed.
I tried doing a "Repair" with the LR5 installer file, but it still happened.
Windows 7 - 64bit professional edition
Intel i7 2600K CPU
16GB DDR3 Ram
570GTX GPU
Lightroom is running off my 120GB SSD Drive, with it's catalog on my 2.5TB internal HD (one of a few).Updated my GPU drivers (clean install) and ran windows driver verifier to make sure all drivers were "proper".
I have a very important shoot I am trying to process and this is a big bummer right now... Again, been using LR4 every since it was released and never had a BSOD... Right after I upgrade, it starts happening once things start get a bit demanding (quick editing or quick adjustments). I have not noticed a trend when it does crash, but it may have something to do with the crop and/or straighten tool... I have noticed it has BSOD on me when doing some of those, but I believe other times as well. I will make sure to pay attention from now on to report any reliable trends when it happens.
