View 2 RepliesDoes Mudbox 2011 have anything comparable to the radial symmetry function in ZBrush? Specifically, the ability to designate N number of points along a mirrored axis, not just mirroring a single stroke along one axis. I thought perhaps this was called something else in Mudbox and that was why I have not been able to find it.
View 1 Replies View Relatedthe bugginess of Photoshop 64 bit CS6 Extended 3d (v13.0 x32 -- no updates since launch??) on a Windows 7 x64 workstation. It constantly crashes, renames my layers, and scenes will suddenly go into the netherworld requiring a PS restart.
However, after spending hours assembling a scene with just 3 simple postcard meshes, I can no longer affect the meshes' coordinates or sizes either by dragging or typing in numbers in to the properties panel -- after attempting a move, it shows the busy cursor for a second or two and then puts the mesh back where it started. To add insult, it adds an undo state to move the mesh back! I tried restarting PS to no avail.
I hesitate to re-assemble the scene with a new file if this is a common occurrence.
Instead of forcing users to download and instal external plugins in order to accomplish this, why dont you instead make your insanely expensive software do what it is supposed to? Thats my question. You charge enough for it, and that is an insanely obviouse piece of functionality that should be available.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've created a pattern fill layer and assigned a vector mask to it. How do I move the pattern around without affecting the mask? I realize if I want to rotate the pattern I'd need to convert it to a smart object, but if I only need to adjust the pattern location there must be some way to do that without moving the vector mask along with it. A traditional layer shows the vector and raster mask layer with a lock icon, but fill pattern layers are different for some reason.

View 9 Replies View RelatedToday, all of a sudden, two of my most used functions—holding down the space bar to move the image around and holding down CMD-space bar to zoom—just up and quit on me (I do like the "Scrubby" but it took a little getting used to. It's very touch screen-esque).
I did all of the normal trouble shooting such as deleting the prefs, relaunching, restarting, etc. Nothing. The functions work fine in the other CS5 programs.
I checked through all of the prefs thinking that perhaps I accidentally changed something but I couldn't find anything. If all else fails, I'll do an uninstall/reinstall but only as a last resort.
I did notice that Adobe finally fixed the Distort (in Full Screen Mode) bug that was killing me in CS4.
[URL] Bug is where the Hand move (by holding down Space bar and dragging) stops working. Issue appears to be a conflict with web browsers.
This bug is still present in Photoshop version 12.1 (CS 5). I don't use Firefox, I use Safari and Chrome. Quitting Safari did not fix the problem. Quitting Chrome DID fix the problem.
I just started to use mudbox for a class assignment, and I am having trouble getting the views to move. I'm usedto 3DS max where all I had to do was holde down the mouse wheel and drag, but I am not getting the same effect in Mudbox.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a custom stamp in Photoshop. Done it with a 16 bits colorspace, saved as TIFF with the required options from the official documentation.
Why do i get a 'grainy' result, even painting with a 100% strength white color ? It happens only on a bump layer. On a diffuse layer, its ok.
Do the bump layer use a 8bits color space ???
My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium, 64 bit & Radeon graphics card. I have been having trouble with my space bar. This is what I've been doing...
New Layer > Ellipse tool > Draw a cirlce > Duplicate Layer > (reselect) Ellipse tool > select the Subtract Front Shape < this is where I need to use the space bar so that I can center the new circle (inside) so that I have a nice border that's evenly spaced around the entire circumference.
However, when I go to hold down the space bar so that I can use my mouse pad to move the circle around it will not move and the hand icon does not appear. The box that contains the H/height & W/width gains the X & Y information. However, intermittently the hand icon will appear but even when it is present I still cannot move anything. When the hand icon does intermittently appear I have not changed anything.
I have checked to make certain that my mouse pad doesn't have any sort of setting(s) that would prevent the mouse pad action when a key is being pressed ~ at least to the best of my rather newbie experience.
I have read that some have had problems with CS5 regarding this same matter but their issue was resolved simply by closing whatever browser they had open concurrently (with Ps). I tried this but it did not resolve my problem.
I had used the Beta of CS6 and it worked just fine which I find rather odd. I reset the preferences by hitting Shift+Alt+Ctrl and that also did not work. Also, if you don't know how I could go about resolving this issue do you know of an other way in which I would be able to move the circle when the Subtract Front Shape is in use? I have tried making the new circle and then just using the Move tool at the top of the tools bar.
I'm a long time user and fan of Corel Draw; are there any plans to mimic Adobe when you draw and move a primitive in Corel Draw.
I love the feature in the Adobe Suite that lets you start a selection or primitive shape and dynamically move and place the shape as you'reinitially marking out it's width and Height "by holding down the space bar". I find this less constricting as you can begin draw the shape from anywhere on the page and move it anywhere before you commit to the size and placement.
i have been sent some borders that are drawn in model space, i want to move them to ps and save the as template's. i have tried chspace but that does not seem to work. if i start a new drawing and paste the border as a block the scaling is wrong, i can use a vp to display the border in ps and then draw a vp inside the border but don't want to do that really.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAs of today's update to Illustrator 17.1 it seems that you cannot use the spacebard while in the middle of drawing a shape (a rectangle, circle, etc.) any more. I don't see a preference to turn this back on. This was an incredibly useful feature.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have code that will set and sae a current UCS to the front of an entity, of course, depending on the viewpoint. This is so, because we need all draft lines in front of 3D solids, such as dimensions, leaders for labels, text entities and so on (the reason for not putting these entities in paper space is another discussion ).
But I'll have on of two problems on numerous occasions:
1. The user forgets all together to run the command.
2. The user will pick the wrong entity that is in the foremost position in that view.
The code I have utilizes the following:
(setq ent (car (entsel)))
(vl-load-com)
(setq obj (vlax-ename->vla-object ent))
(vla-getboundingbox obj 'LowerCorner 'UpperCorner)
(setq LowerC (vlax-safearray->list LowerCorner))
(setq UpperC (vlax-safearray->list UpperCorner))
Then I'll analyze the X, Y and Z of both the lower and upper corners, and set my UCS to whatever is proper.
Is there a "LowerCorner" and an "UpperCorner" for all entities. I can't see "VSMIN" and VSMAX" working because the elevation of the returned coordinates is always "0,0"
I am running out of space on my internal hard drive on a MACBookPro and would like to move my photoes to an external disk and keep the catalog pointing to them. They are currently in nicely named folders and I would like to keep them that way. How can I do this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to enable symmetrical brushing in photoshop? So that I'd have a center point in a layer and if I draw to the left side, the exact same thing appears on the right side - at correct distance. So far i've been just drawing the another side first and duplicated it afterwards, but it'd be very nice to see the results in real-time.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhat is the proper way to apply the symmetry modifier to a sphere ? I created this custom android bot. After I create a sphere with hemisphere I create the eye and split the sphere in two then zero it out on the grid. Then I apply the modifier. When I do that it does not project the other half of the sphere even when it's on flip and x axis. The mirror part is kind of on the back side of the sphere. What happens is I have to rotate the mirror part to line it up and up the thresh hold a lot to get the back side to connect.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have two images that are of different sizes to begin with. One is 1330x2000 and the other 400x472.
way to resize these pictures to become the same pixel size so that they are symetrical. I know how to resize the pictures but when I do, both pictures never become the same pixel size because they are different in size to begin with. I have found that I need to crop first and sort of play with the cropping and the resizing of the picture. This takes forever though!
I can tell it to make both pictures the same pixel size (without stretching the picture). Or can I set the crop size of an exact size then crop the main areas of each image. Wouldn't this then give me the same pixel size?
I have an exactly symmetrical geometric bitmap photoshop image (exactly symmetrical down to the pixel) which I need to convert into vector. When I import the image into illustrator and use the trace tool it does not trace both sides of the image exactly symmetrical..
Notice the trace line does not symmetrically match the bitmap.I have tried all the trace types such as 'high fidelity photo' yet it still does not trace exactly on both sides of the symmetrical image.
Is there any way to get the trace perfectly symmetrical?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have recently starting skinning my human model and everything was fine until I found out that the chest bone I have on each side of the chest isn't being noticed by 3ds Max as being symmetrical with the other bone. This means I can't use mirror bones or mirror vertices to that part of the model. How to make two bones that aren't being recognized as symmetrical by 3ds Max symmetrical? When using the envelopes in the skin modifier, when I go to mirror the bones or vertices, the two bones are red instead of blue or green to show symmetry. The two bones are relatively in the same place on opposite sides of the model. They aren't the same size but close. Is there something I need to do to make them have symmetry or is there a way to make 3ds Max recognize that you have two bones that you want to be symmetrical?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a character that's textured, and I'd like to make adjustments to the mesh. I would like to select a Vertex on the right half of the mesh, and the Vertex on the left side would also get selected. So when I move it, the opposite moves in the "mirrored" direction.
In Softimage it's simple; I apply a Symmetry Map to the model, choose the Symmetry Mode, and it works. How do you set that up?
