Lightroom stops importing, the progress bar stops moving. After quiting Lightroom and trying to sync the folder it happens again. There are no strange fileformats in the folder, just straight JPG and XMP. This is pretty annoying - such a basic functionality should work out of the box.
I've read that the german character "ß" could be the cause (so every file tagged with German Street Names in it will stop LR from working! Excellent.) – and the release candidate 5.2 should fix the issue. BUT: I am not very fond of installing a release candidate; what happens later, when the final version is released? Does the automatic update function its job? Or do i have to fiddle once more to get the final version working?
I'm seeing a problem in just some of my Lightroom 4 (version 4.3, latest updates as of today) catalogs where auto import just stops working. There are no error messages and Lightroom continues to work, but files in the watched folder just don't get imported. I've optimized the catalog, restarted Lightroom, double checked that auto import is on, restarted my mac (mac book pro running 10.7.5), imported all the photos into a new catalog... still no joy. Also worth noting is that the other import options are greyed out if auto import is on when I start Lightroom for these broken catalogs... but if I turn off auto import, and restart Lightroom, the import photos and videos is enabled and I can import the files from the watch folder manually.
I have a folder containing all my photos (15000 photos: 70% JPG, 30% NEF) in a sorted folder-structure.
I am trying to import that filestructure to Lightroom, but after some thousand fotos the import-process just stops. Lightroom is still usable, the "import-progress-bar" shows the correct value (something below 50%) but import action is frozen.
I can shutdown the program and them try to restart them import, but it does not work.
When I then try to import the fotos "year by year" then it also has the same behaviour after some time...
Seems to me quite a bug for the sake of a photo-management-tool?
Bridge CS6 always stops importing the files from my D800 via USB 3.0 after exactly 6 jpg files are transferred. In mixed nef+jpg as well as in jpg only mode. No matter if CF only or SD only or both cards are used. No problem with .nef only.To change the target directory to another SSD or HD makes no difference.
But at the same USB 3.0 ports (I tried them all), no problem whatsoever to do the transfer via Windows Explorer. So I guess it must be something with Bridge and USB3.0 and jpgs from the D800.System is a brand new W7Ultimate64 on an IvyBridge Z77 platform.
Everytime when i import a surface in civil3d 2013. It stops working and tries to send error report.
Also programs top bar which includes "save-open-civil3d selections-etc." is white that i cant see any button. It seems like ineffective because of colour but they can be clickable.
My short system info: Lenovo z580 - i7 3632QM 2.2ghz - intelhdgraphics4000 and nvidiaGT635M - 6 Gb ram
3) Alter the exposure compensation of the copies by either exactly 1 or 2 stops up or down as needed.
4) Merge those shots to form a quasi-HDR composite image.
When I open the master/source picture in Lightroom, how do I change the exposure by exactly one or two stops leaving all of the other settings untouched?
Yes, I know the master exposure slider goes up to 5.00, but what exactly do those values mean if anything in direct correlation to f-stop's? Is it accurate? how changing the exposure is executed.
I use the grid view to reorder photos then rename them so I have the corrrect sequence number for each image as part of the name. After I have been doing this for an hour or so (on various folders of images) Lightroom gives me an error message saying: "Reorder photos by dragging from within the grid view, not by dragging from another source". The images are not from multiple folders and I am gragging within the grid view same as I was doing moments before it simply stopped working. Subsequent attempts to drag are met simply with silence. No more error messages.
When watching more (3 to 4) videos after one another, the video player just stops working. After a while (a minute or so) I get an error message: "There was an error working with the video".
The only way (so far) to get it to work again is to restart Windows. And then again, I can watch 3 to 4 videos before the problem occurs again. My computer runs 64-bit Windows 7 with 8GB RAM.
After uploading images from a card reader to LR 4.1 and 4.2, the option to review large images is present for the first 10-20 photo, then LR preview will only display a small image (the size of a thumbnail.). I can uplaod all the images from preview to the LR catalog. But then I have to go into the catalog and delete unwanted images.
Suddenly when a raw image has been porcessed by the Develop Module the (ctrl-E) 'open in Photoshop' command does not work for that image. It works for images that have not been 'developed'. I have deleted LR preferences several times.
I am trying to import my Eleemtns 6 catague into LR 4.1 and I cannot find the File>Upgrade Photoshop Elements Catalgo in the Library Mode. Am I missing something?
Why does LR4 not import ALL my photos from the selected folder on my portable hard drive? "Include Subfolders" is checked and "suspected duplicates" are allowed. The difference is about 10,000 photos per the info from Windows Exployer (approx. 175,000 vs 185,000 files). I can view the missing photos in exployer and not in LR4. I have tried deleting the catalog and starting from scratch. I have tried importing from subfolders. Sometimes I get different results, but not much different.
In importing raw files as DNG the photos are coming in as b&w next to JPEG photos of same image in color. Why? I can change the b&w to color in the develop mode. How do I get the raw images to import as DNG in color.
I just got lightroom and when I try to upload my old albums from my hardrive (all taken with the same camera) not all of them will load and the importing bar in the top left freezes.
I have a Canon Rebel XS 1000D that I have been recently shooting RAW images with. However, when I go to import the .cr2 files into LR, it says that it does not recognize the format.
I am shooting raw (D800), importing with import settings set as none or zeroed and when they open in LR the image is clearly processed (as if it was auto toned or something) where is the flat raw image i deserve?
I upgraded to LR3.6 today for LR3. Now Lightroom cannot read any files I try to import. I tried re-installing. Would it be safe to overwrite 3.6 with 3.0?
I started editing a session on my laptop using LR3. I now want to move them to my desktop and edit them on LR4. (I know I need to make them the same version, but alas...) When I try to import them, they are greyed out and no allowing me to import. I saved them as dng files on a flash drive to move them over.
According to Windows Explorer (and other software) I have over 50,000 graphic files, yet Lightroom will only catalogue about 35,000. One folder for example shows up in Lightroom as having 35 files, Explorer says 394. I try Synchronise and it initially reports "Import new photos 357". Then it reports "Import in progress", then "no files found"!
I try Import and all the photos in that folder are shown greyed out with nothing to import.I tried building a new catalogue but that didn't work. It imported around 35,000 of them only. A second run imported a few more but there are still around 15,000 missing fro the LR catalogue
When I go to the import dialog in Lightroom 5.3 and I select one of my 3 networked hard drives (hosted on a Mac) I can only see the directory structure of one of my drives in lightroom my Y: Drive (for videos) shows up properly, but when I select the X: drive (for Photos) it doesnt show any folders. When i use windows explorer I can see the structure just fine. I have tried selectring. include subfolders.. makes no difference
I cant also see in the destination, area the folder listing
why cant it see the folders? all three network drives are formated the same way, hosted on the same machine
If i click on the arrow button point right and select other source I can navigate in the popup window to the proper drive / folder but why wont it should up in this winddow
I use a Nikon D800. When I import files from the camera using Nikon Transfer 2, and at the same time try to import files into LR 4.4, LR 4.4 crashes. If I use Bridge to browse files under the same circumstances, it works fine.
I run Windows 8 Pro 64bit. All drivers are upto date as are all software versions. Firmware on the camera is also up to date.
I'm trying to import photo's taken on a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XS, in a camera raw format with a CR2 file extension. No luck - the pictures are greyed out on the import screen. Added the Camera Raw program, version 7.4. Didn't find our camera in the supported camera's list, but there are plenty of Canon EOS Rebels in there, so thought we'd take a chance.
My Lightroom 4.4 stopped importing videos and I don't know why. My Quicktime is up to date, my Lightroom is up to date, and quitting and opening Lightroom doesn't effect it. I tried purging the cache and it didn't effect it.
When I restart my computer and reopen Lightroom it will import a couple of videos and then stop working again.
One catalog is in LR 4 (called catalog B) on Ext HD F, and one is in Carbonite waiting to be restored (had an ext HD failure on Ext HD E, catalog A). I want to put these on a new 4TB external hard drive and in one catalog called A on my just purchased Lightroom 5 upgrade from 4. How do I do this without screwing up?
