Lightroom :: Point To New Location For Photos?
Feb 28, 2013Due to some computer issues, I had to move my photos to a new location (different drive). How do I get Lightroom to point to that location?

Aug 11, 2012I can't add sublocation (or any other) EXIF data to multiple photos after selecting them in library grid view. This happened recently; before that it worked. Keywords work, however, as they always did.
I'm running Lightroom 4.1 on MacOsX 10.7.4. Don't remember doing any OS updates just before this happened. I have 4 GB of RAM, 639.5 GB actual HD (135 GB unused).

Dec 15, 2012was trying to move a photo to another location and I clicked on something and it asked if I wanted to create a new catalog. I said yes. Now none of my photos are appearing in my lightroom.

Apr 6, 2014I recently had to format the ext drive that my photos were on. after doing that i put all those photos back. i opened Finder, clicked ext drive titled Photos and placed the parent folder, My Pictures there.
When I now look at the folders panel the parent folder is Photos and then My Pictures. in older catalogs the parent folder was always My Pictures. there are no ?s anywhere. wondering whether i put the photos back in the right way or right place.
Even though i select a specific folder when i now import photos they go to a completely different and new folder and seemingly to a new drive titled Photos. that is also the name of the drive that all the photos are on. when i click "show in finder" all images show the original drive titled Photos. so when you look at the folder panel it looks like there are actually two drives titled Photos and the imported photos are now going to the second Photos drive. in reality there is only one drive titled Photos.
i can't get imported photos to go to the correct drive.
Lightroom :: How To Get Location Data Imported When Import Photos
Nov 10, 2013I use LR 5 and I cannot seeme to get my location data imported when I import my photos. The data is there because it show up in PS Bridge but it is not in the metadata record in Lightroom and the map module cannot find it. I looked through all of the setting and I found nothing that would preclude location from being loaded.

Dec 13, 2011I'm experiencing a bit of an organization problem with Lightroom 3 which is probably rather easy to fix, but I just can't seen ti figure out how. When I import photos in Lightroom it automatically creates folders (2011-12-14 for example) and I would like to change the location on my computer for these folders, but I can't find where to do it. It now creates these folders in my regular Pictures folder which gets really messy due to this. How can I change this? And how do I relocate all the excisting folders on my laptop, without having to find all the missing photos afterwards.

Where is the new location for Copy With Base Point? I used to go EDIT > Copy With Base Point.
I am enjoying a lot of the new features of AM 2012. It will just take a while to get used to where everything is at.

Dec 10, 2013The workpoint I have in my model is in the location I want.
When I INCLUDE it in my IDW file it shows up in the wrong location.
Glad I noticed that, I would have dimensioned to the wrong location and ended up with a scrapped part.
I wonder what would cause this? Maybe a bug? I looked at the model from every possible angle and the point is in the exact location I need.

Aug 26, 2013I know this. I am aware. This is why I avoid changing the reference point as much as possible if I have profile views or anything else dependent on my alignment. I also have no problem with this dialog giving me a useful reminder.
My problem is this: if I want to make my alignment longer, and I grab the grip at the end of it and drag it to a new location, the reference point moves too! Who in their right mind would want the reference point to move when adjusting the end? Personally I wouldn't want C3D to ever move my reference point automatically. I can have some sympathy with moving it if I am grip-editing the start of the alignment, or the tangent on which the reference point resides. But I'm editing at the end of the alignment, on a different tangent. Why would you move my reference point and make me have to go back and reset it to where it was? How dare you throw your warning message at me for moving the reference point back to where it should be when you secretly moved it to a wrong location with no warning whatsoever?

Oct 30, 2013In most vector based programs I am used to using a function which allows you to paste a copied item to a specific location determined by a point-click. I find this endlessly more useful than pasting to the centre of the screen, or even paste in place, as both are rarely anywhere near where I would like an object to be. I find the function of point-click paste does away with endless dragging of objects across the screen.

Photoshop :: Reference Point Location Jumps To Cursor When Moving Active Transform Layer?
Aug 1, 2013I have a layer I'm resizing and is currently in Transform.When I beging to drag the layer to position while it is in resize the center reference point will jump to my mouse causing me to move the reference point outside of the tranform layer. Normally I would have to click on the reference point and drag it intentionally or hold CTRL and click in the transformed layer to set a reference point, but it since CS6 is had still remainded in CC.
This happens when I transform the layer (Ctrl+T) and then grab the layer to move. I have to put the reference point back to center via mouse or by the reference point on the menu bar up top. Then I can go back and drag my later where I need it to finish my transform.

what i want is :
1) script start and asks for a Block Name (in this case QPP1, QPP2, QS, QE, ect)
2) the user picks existing text
3) the script reads the value existing on this text an put it in a variable
4) then erases the pre picked text
5) inserts the block chosen
6) changes block value to number value pre-read
since it do almost all steps except for step 3 and 6

So I brought home the DWG as well as the ENZ file thinking that if both were in the same directory, it would work OK. But I get an error saying the Point file can't be found. I can't see any way to make the file reference relative, rather than absolute.

May 28, 2013I copied photo folders from my hard drive to lightroom 4 and edited them but then accidentally removed these folders from lightroom. I then imported these folders again into lightroom but all the edits I made orginally in lightroom don't show up for the individual photo's.
I backed up the Lightroom catalogue regularily. Is there any way I can reattach these edits to their respective photos'. There is lot of photo's involved.

Lightroom :: GPS Location Not Saving In 4.1?
Aug 19, 2012wall trying to export GPS coordinates. Here's the situation:
Lightroom 4.1 Camera (Canon) RAW imported from camera directly to DNG (no location info present) Location added via Map module, and additional metadata (Title, Caption, Keywords, Copyright, etc...) added Save Location not set to Private Export Metadata settings "Remove location info" is NOT checked (i.e., do not remove it)
I export to JPG and the location is not present. Flickr cannot see it, and I load it into Photoshop and examine the metadata and location is not there. I have also used some other online tools to verify it is missing, as well as Geosetter. If I set it in Geosetter, the data is then there. However, Lightroom 4.1 is just not saving it, and I have scoured all the settings looking for any other options.
This is crucial to my workflow and I'd prefer to do as much as possible inside LR and not have to use external tools.
Lightroom :: How To Add A Filter (red) For Another Location
Dec 6, 2011I have a large number of images from a trip ( 10,000+) . So far I have colored coded 2 locations with blue & green. Now obviously I can filter by either color & view those images. Is there a way that I can see all uncoded images. That is filter out the blue & green so I can browse the uncoded images only? For example I would like to add a filter (red) for another location then not show the blue green or red.
Just for your info I do this as a gross filtering prior to ratings or collections. I am thinking that this would allow me to whittle down the images & make it easier to go thru. Using LR 3.5

Initially I started editing my photos off the network drive, mainly because I hadn't realized the location I had chosen. Now I'm having trouble with my network drive going offline intermittantly, making editing a chore because I keep getting "unable to locate file" messages. My question is, can I start using the same photos, which are stored on my office computer, and not lose the edits I have already made?

I use my internal hard drive NTFS of my MacBook Pro as my storage location of Lightroom 3.6. being installed in Snow Leopard now but the data of my photos get too big now. I have two fast and big external hard drives eSATA now which I want to use for my data/photos. I know how to copy the data from one hard drive to another but I don't know how to change the settings in connection with Lightroom easily. I still want to watch all fotos on my MacBook Pro but don't want to save any fotos on my internal harddrive any more. Isn't it possible to have the programm Lightroom on my internal harddrive but the data on two times on two different extermal hard drives? If I look at Lightroom - settings of catalogue - I see that the internal harddrive location is my storage location now but I my two external harddrives don't appear as folders. Why? How to change that so that the external hard drives appear in Lightroom and I can watch all my fotos immediately (sometimes using external hard drive 1 and sometimes using external hard drive 2)?
My external hard drives are in HFS+ but I use the software of Paragon so that there shouldn't be any problem to read and write the data (I use also Final Cut Express so my external hard drives are HFS+ and not NTFS).
I want to impert many data from CDs - should I copy the fotos first to my external hard drive and then import it into Lightroom or is it easier to import the data directly from the CD in Lightroom so that I don't have to name the folders two times? I see that I have to sort the fotos from the CDs in new different folders and an used to do that in Finder of my MacBookPro. In Lightroom I don't want have to click each of hundreds of fotos to be able to put it into the right folders ... But how to import only a part of a CDs quickly into the right (newly created) folders?
Lightroom :: Changing Disk Location?
Mar 20, 2014I had to change my photo disk (phisycal location). Now LR5 is showing the metadata, but as the photos are not there, I can't edit them. How can I update the photo locations,without loosing all changing metadata? LR5 remains installed in the original disk, but I moved the photos to a new disk.
