Every time I download new photos, I have to change the download location from pictures to my work folder. How do I change the download location permanently?

I have named the HD Photo Location, and have created a folder in it called it "My Lightroom Photos". I have been able to create this, but cannot seem to ber able to make it my default when I open LR 3.5. I have to manually go in and change it. Is there a way that this can be changed to make it my default?

I have a macbook pro running osx 10.8.4 and LR 4.4 installed. When I try to change the cache size in the LR Preferences from 1.0 gig to 10 it doesn't "stick". I change it, close the pref. menu and when I reopen it to check, it's back to 1.0 How can I change this and make it stay?

When importing the batch of images and organizer, it changes the dates of the images automatically, some images are showing in correct date sequence and some photos timings are getting change and taking the current time and date. View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been trying in vain to change the projection type in my styles editor to 3rd angle and keeping it like that for all future drawings.
It's easy enough to change projection type for an individual drawing by going through Manage > Styles editor > View Preferences, but I'd like all drawings in future to default to 3rd angle. I've tried saving the file as a new template (many times) in Templates > Metric but they always default back to 1st angle projection.
I have a very large catalog that I am wanting to clean up and remove files from my computer.
I am wanting to put the images on to a DVD, what is the best way to do that?
Export to catalog and then point to the DVD?
I know how to go in to my settings and change the default page settings on a new design, but I want my settings to ALWAYS come up with the settings I change them to. How do I set these so that every time I start Xara I don't have to go change the settings AGAIN?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm running Lightroom 5 on OS X 10.8 and my photos are located on a network attached storage drive. When I delete a photo, I select the "Delete from Disk" option. Next it says:
1 of these files could not be moved to the Trash. The files are on a volume that does not support Trash. Would you like to permanently delete them?
The options are "Permanently Delete Files" and "Cancel."
Is it possible to permanently bypass the "Permanently Delete Files" prompt?
I am planing on changing from a PC to a Mac. Can I download the Mac version of CS5 and use my old windows verification codes?

The location of "My Pictures" is on my primary Hard Drive D:My DocumentsMy Pictures
Why is Photoshop changing all of my 37,000+ photo thumbnails to point to my Backup Drive K:?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI scan images to go into my website on a regular basis. I scan them bring them into photoshop, use the marquise tool to move individual images to be corrected and made ready to put in website, then I save them and delete that layer from photoshop. I then go to the next image and when I use the marquise tool the previous image keeps coming on the screen.
I am unable to delete permanently that first image so I can move on to the next image. Then I ran into the problem of not being able to more an image from the clipboard. It isn't highlighted so I can click it. Don't know what to do and I have to resolve this ASAP to keep up with my work.
I am relatively new to Photoshop Elements. I followed the instructions to add a watermark to multiple photos. I am unhappy with the results and want to remove the watermark. Despite not saving my watermarked photos, I see the watermark. Is there a way to preview the watermark before anything gets permanent? Is there a way to remove the watermarks on all the photos and start all over?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was getting the error that my scratch disk was full, and read that I can set it to another drive, besides my computer's main hard drive. So I went out and bought a 1TB hard drive, configured it to the computer and everything, but its not showing as an option in the drop down menu to change the photoshop scratch disk settings.

The office is set up to have roaming profiles so when a change is made to my documents and settings, each time I log in or log out, it updates the server with the changes. Additionally, when I log on to a different computer, it loads all of my documents and settings on to that computer.
The scratch disk file for photoshop last time I checked was 6GB which is enormous, and was taking forever to load whenever I log onto a new computer, as well as taking forever to up date to and from the server each time I log on to my usual computer. I delete the file each time I remember, but I don't always remember.
My question is whether it is possible to change the folder location on my C drive of the scratch disk file. I do not have an external hard drive available to use as my scratch disk. This would allow me to put it somewhere else on my C drive, and as such it would not have to update my profile.
Why doesn't Adobe Bridge download files from "get photos from camera", error message" Adobe Bridge CS6 cannot obtain files from this device. ensure that the device is connected properly,or that the battery is charged,and try again.
When I'm using a card reader that does not require batteries, is it because they are Leica DNG files??? I have managed to drag and drop instead but would prefer to use "get photos from camera".
I am using Lightroom 4.3 on a windows 7 64 windows computer with two hard drives. One dedicated to running programs and the larger one for storage of all my other stuff. Well my backups and download backups folders are on the smaller drive and I need to move them to the other larger drive. Can I do this without totally freaking Lightroom out?

I'm getting ready to build a new PC, and I'm trying to plan out how to move my LR catalog/images.
The problem is that since I've been upgrading my current PC for years and moving user data since XP. The result is that my LR catalog expects some older images to be in c:documents and settings... XP-style, others in c:usersxxx when I moved to Vista, and others in d:usersxxx when I moved my user data to a bigger hard drive. The images are actually all in one location, and there are various OS mappings that make it all work.
I'd like to avoid all this mess with my new setup. Is there a way to essentially do "update folder location" on many folders at once? Unfortunately, they are top-level and don't have a parent folder I could do that to.
Oh yeah, using x64 Lightroom 4 on Win7.
How the heck do you do this once a view is placed? I had to edit a part and the origin indicator is in the middle of no where now(and is pink). How can I either. 1.)Locate the new origin for my dimensions or 2.) delet the origin and start over?

I used a trial version of Lightroom 4 and imported about 300 photos from my internal imac hard drive to tinker with during the trial. So when I first set LR up, the catalog was connected to my internal hard drive, via the Pictures folder. Then when the trial ended, I bought the software and installed it but in the meantime had transferred all my photo libraryfrom my computer internal hard drive to an external hard drive. Now that I have the LR 4 software and am no longer using the trial, I'm ready to import all my photos to Light room. My question is how to I change my LR catalog (which currently contains the 300 photos I imported during the trial period) to link to my big photo library which is now on my external hard drive, instead of linking to my computer's internal hard drive

View 7 Replies View RelatedI copied the pressure pipe catalogs to our local network and in C3D 2014 set the catalog to the network location.
When I close C3D and reopen, it reverts back to the original catalog location on my C drive.
Setting a different location for regular pipe networks works fine.
Is there something I'm missing or does this method not work for pressure networks.
