View 1 RepliesI've been able to copy images in an indirect way (LR to an earmarked folder on my PC's hard drive, then to the iPad using Apple's I-Tunes). But editing and arranging images is fairly awkward.
There are LR functions to upload to some web sites, e.g., Flicker, but none to devices like the iPad. (Exporting to smaller sites such as Nikonians would be nice but I suspect there's not enough demand for Adobe to bother with this embellishment.
Is it likely that export functions will be expanded to include the iPad and other devices?
In LR3, when exporting a raw file as a jpeg the only choices given at the top of the dialog box are Hard Drive and CD. Is there a way to export directly to a thumb drive or external HD without exporting to the HD then copying the file (s) over?
View 1 Replies View Relatedhow to import photos directly unto my EHD via LR. I don't like my images touching my internal hard drive because it slows it down so much. This was never a problem when I used my PC. Two weeks ago I switched to a MAC and now when I plug in my EHD to attempt to import pictures onto it from my Nikon D7000, it states that it cannot read the files. WHen I import them to my internal HD they work fine, it's only when I try to import onto my EHD.

View 2 Replies View RelatedNormally I import as RAW, and then convert to DNG; today is first time that I've Imported/Copied directly to DNG.
Using LR5, I "Copy to DNG" a bunch of images from my CF Card, that I shot over the weekend. In Grid view, under the Histogram, I noticed the icon "Originals without Smart Previews" had a 1, "Originals + Smart Previews" had a 0, "Smart Previews" has a 0, and "Missing" also has a 1 next to it. Admittedly, I forgot to check the "Build Smart Preview" check box, so I Library -> Previews -> Build Smart Previews. After the process finished, I now have "Originals without Smart Previews" - 0, "Originals + Smart Previews" - 1, "Smart Previews" has a 0, and "Missing" - 1. When I go into Develop module, under the Histogram I also see "[!] Photo is Missing". When I Right-Click and select "Show in Finder" it takes me straight to the original, in the correct folder location that I Copied/Imported into. I've also done "Find All Missing Photos" and re-synchronized the folder. Nothing has changed.
We are using Inventor 2012 and would like to read Solidworks 2012 files directly into the system. This can be done with Solidworks 2011 files but our vendor upgraded his software between the time he sent us test files to try the import and now. Can you tell me if the is a plug in or something that will allow us to read SW 2012 files or should we upgrade to Inventor 2013?

View 2 Replies View RelatedHave a job upcoming which will involve a massive amount of photos, nothing to exciting, just volume. All of the selects will need to be resized to 4x7 and then have a 1x7 graphic added to the bottom each, so that the finished image fits a 5x7 (7in wide length) print. The obvious answer is to resize each photo and manually drop it onto a template of somesort in photoshop. Any better/easier/faster way to do this with 2000+ images?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to lightroom 4 and I am having issues exporting my photos into a jpeg file. Lightroom is decreasing the size of my photo significantly, make them only about an 8 x 10 size and some as little as 3x5. I have tried everything I can think of, and it works as a tiff file, but for some reason it shrinks the picture on jpeg.

LR 4.3 down samples my photos when I export a slideshow to pdf or video. I've tried 1080p,720p, 960x540, 720x480 for video. I can only H.264, nothing else. I use an ID plate (photo frame) and music. Everything works fine when I play the slideshow in LR.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIt seems like a simple enough request, but I'm just not seeing it. When I export (from Library) I want all the photos and snapshots of each to be exported. Is there a way to do this? Or, do I need to make virtual copies of each snapshot, THEN do an export?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running 64 bit Lightroom 3.5 on Windows 7. I've been using Lightroom for about 2 years, this is a problem that just came up this weekend.
When in the Develop module and selecting Export and selecting Export Location and a folder to export to, the dialog box now only shows me the Desktop and my User folder - it does not show either of the two hard disks in my PC. These disks do show up in Windows Explorer and the Library module is able to find these disks and load the photos on them.
I am relatively new to Lightroom 4 and have had some issues with uploading files to a website that I have already exported from lightroom. I have exported many photos from lightroom to my desktop and then brought them into iphoto. I then went to upload some of those photos, now in iphoto to websites like snapfish, etc. to develop prints or make cards. When I upload these photos to the website, they often look poor in comparison when I look at the same image in iphoto.I then emailed myself the same photo and renamed the image. The photo then uploads true to what it looks like in iphoto. Am I not exporting these images correctly?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got about 10,000 photos that I've moved in lightroom by creating a folder called 'pictures' on the external drive using the left folders panel. I then selected all the images in the root drive on my computer and dragged them onto the 'pictures' folder on the external drive, and I expected the folder structure to come with it. Only after I realised that they had all moved into one folder. Is there a way of moving the images back into a structure without manually doing it? Here's a screenshot.....
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have macbook pro 15", early 2011, 10.8.4 mountain lion OSx, and my image viewer/ editor is iphoto 11, however iphoto is for normal beginner users (like me) and even the photo editing for adding filters/ cropping/ adjusting, nothing professional. but such work done in photoshop elements 11 and others. so I download it (PSE 11) and connect it as the editor with iphoto 11, but I faced problem while saving the photos back and I searched the net and saw video tutorial, and unfortunately so far nothing to save edited photos directly as JPEG to iphoto from PSE11.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI can't import directly from an XQD card into Lightroom on my laptop (Windows 7). The images appear in the import window, but I get the following message when trying to import: "The following files were not imported because they could not be read." I can move the files over to the hard disk where Lightroom can import them but only by using the "Add" function. This precludes my adding the date to the file name and converting the files to DNG. The funny thing is I can import them into my desktop, but it has less memory and an older processor which during the import often exceeds the memory capabilities and corrupts the image file.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it still not possible to export folders direct to ftps? I've heard this is possible in Photomechanic but I'd prefer not to have to buy another piece of software (and I like LR). Exporting to a folder on the hard drive and then exporting to the ftp seems like one step too many.
