It seems like a simple enough request, but I'm just not seeing it. When I export (from Library) I want all the photos and snapshots of each to be exported. Is there a way to do this? Or, do I need to make virtual copies of each snapshot, THEN do an export?
View 1 RepliesIn Lightroom, when editing the pictures, in the Developing Module, I will adjust the colors and sharpening and then I used the brush to add more sharpening to a face or an object. When going to the Library Module to inspect the pictures the sharpening is not there. Even when I export the pictures the sharpening goes away.
So I went to people who teach lightroom and they were stumped. and showed them when toggling back in Library and Developing modules and they would see a sharpen image in the developing module and then a non-sharpen image in the library and export picture.
I have asked this question here before and everyone was nice to explain to me their theories, but many believe it's my exporting, but it has nothing to do with my exporting, other than that it takes like an hour and plus minutes to export about a 120 pictures, which I know it is not correct, but that does not bother me more so the sharpening.
P.S. Do you think I should just purchase Lightroom 5. I am using Lightroom 4.4, which I got literally last year.
I add five photos to a folder in Lightroom 4.3. The photos are in the specified folder in Windows. Import shows the five photos as imported but greyed out and semi-highlighted. Library does not show these five photos. What can I do?

View 1 Replies View RelatedA few days ago I was importing photos (RAW to DNG) and my computer locked. i had to reboot, and ever since when i import photos they will not load (preview) in Library. Also Histogram just reads "calculating", but no graph loads in. If I go to develop, the photo will load in, and I can export it with no issue. I just can't view photos in Library. also, photos imported prior to that event will load in and can be viewed in Library. Just nothing going forward. My OS is Vista and i'm running Lightroom 4.4

When i switch to the library, they have a lot of noise and look nothing like how I edited them. I am using lightroom 4 for my mac. I have been using photoshop to edit and output my pictures and then taking the edited ones and loading them into iphoto which makes them as "events" I have liked this a lot. As I switch to Lightroom (something I am very ready to do), I don't see a similar grouping feature. It seems you can make key words or collections, but I don't see an automatic grouping system that would nest photos from events (ie taken on the same day).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using Lightroom 4.4 Dell Ultrasharp monitor is calibrated. I own and have been referring to Scott Kelby's Lightroom4 book for digital photographers. I recently took some photos of my daughters prom. She had on a beautiful reddish orange dress. I notice that the dress appears very red in the develop module, however, appears a bit more orange in the library module. The change is very noticeable between the modules. The dress also appears similar to the library module view (a bit more orange) when viewed on the web via Flickr utilizing Chrome, Firefox, or IPad. It also appears the same when exported to a JPEG file.
I have done some experimenting and have determined that this color change effect appears to be very noticeable utilizing the Adobe Standard Camera Calibration Profile. It does not happen (at least to a noticeable extent) with the others such as Camera Standard where the dress appears a bit more orange in both the library and develop module. I do, however, like the appearance of the Adobe Standard profile better and this happens to be the default profile as well.
I have also noticed that the dress looks more orange when Soft Proofing is enabled. The change happens immediately when the check box is enabled. Checking the box makes the photo appear similar to the Library module view. Enabling Soft Proofing does make noticeable that there is Destination Gamut Warning which mainly involves the dress which is the point of interest, however, there is no warning with the Monitor Gamut Warning. I am intending to place the photos on the web at this time via Flickr. I will be printing several later so will be worrying about the printer gamut at that time. But for now, I would like to get the photos on the web looking as intended.
LR 4.3, Windows 7. I've started using Snapshots as a convenient way to capture in-process images. But, I can't find a couple things I'm sure HAVE to be in here somewhere...
1. The "generate virtual copies from all the snapshots of this image" button
2. The "export all the snapshots to jpgs or tiffs or whatever" button
I just upgraded from LR3 to LR5 - when I export and upload to Facebook - the photos look horrible. Very unclear. Looks like they got compressed in a strange way. I am doing everything the same way I did it in LR3 but getting differnet results.

View 2 Replies View RelatedHave a job upcoming which will involve a massive amount of photos, nothing to exciting, just volume. All of the selects will need to be resized to 4x7 and then have a 1x7 graphic added to the bottom each, so that the finished image fits a 5x7 (7in wide length) print. The obvious answer is to resize each photo and manually drop it onto a template of somesort in photoshop. Any better/easier/faster way to do this with 2000+ images?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a procedural way to download my photos to LR3 instead of Image Capture on my iMAC? I had Apple Store Geniuses fix the Safe Mode problem (which i posted in a different thread) so when I got home and tried to download my photos from the CF card reader it showed up in the Image Capture screen but not in LR3. I had the CF card reader attached to the computer's USB port before turning on the computer.
Should I have turned on the computer first and then open LR3 before connecting the card reader? My guess is that because LR3 was not opened first, the downloading went somewhere else.
I can't use the library filters in collections as they return no results despite there being valid search criteria. Images with one star rating are not shown when filters are set to rated in the collection. The filters do return results when searching in collection sets however.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a folder containing all my photos (15000 photos: 70% JPG, 30% NEF) in a sorted folder-structure.
I am trying to import that filestructure to Lightroom, but after some thousand fotos the import-process just stops. Lightroom is still usable, the "import-progress-bar" shows the correct value (something below 50%) but import action is frozen.
I can shutdown the program and them try to restart them import, but it does not work.
When I then try to import the fotos "year by year" then it also has the same behaviour after some time...
Seems to me quite a bug for the sake of a photo-management-tool?
How can this possibly happen? The section Apply During Import in the import dialog screen has a field for Develop Settings, but this field says None, so nothing should happen to the photos during import. So why do the display in B&W in Library?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am a photographer shooting photo sets of cars and need to keep them in order of shooting upon uploading. I am trying to attach a graphic logo watermark to the first shot of each set while keeping them all in the same export order. But...I understand in order to attach the logo, I must be in export mode. Upon completion of the first photo watermark attachment.....I need to complete the export before going on to the next first shot of the series in the same library grid.
Maybe I am missing something here but need to figure this out other than in the export mode. If I take the pic to edit in photoshop to apply and flatten I back into Lightroom it puts the watermarked photo at the end of the library grid of photos.Do I need to apply to original instead of a copy to keep in right order?
When I open the photos in "Library" do not look good. In "Develop" yes... When I go Library to Develop, the screen moves a bit, and then it looks good but does not work because when I export, the photos look, like in Library. I'm climbing the walls from last night (I uninstalled, updated, etc) Now is Lightroom 5.
View 6 Replies View RelatedTrying to move some photos to a different folder in the Library Module. I highlite the photos, click on the folder I want to move them to and press "Move Selected Photos to this Folder." Then I get an error message that the photos are already in the destination. OK. 1 Problem I just made the folder. My computer crashed about 3 weeks ago. Got it back up and reinstalled LR3.
Made 2 catalogs;
1. Personal and
2. Work Photos.
All of my personal photos I put in the personal cat with no sub-folders, my work went into the work which I made sub-folders. Today I finally got the time to set up my Personal folder. Made 3 new folders, one was Vietnam, which I divided into sub-folders of the place I was stationed and my R&R to Hawaii. Started separating the photos, all went well till I tried to move photos to a sub-folder call Phu Loi. Then I got the error message.
I have been using LR4.4 and now upgraded to 5. My only problem has been neither versions display the photos in filmstrip or the Library module after being imported. It displays blank frames and you can click on one in Develop and it will show the photo. But its obviously very hard to identify a specific photo if you can't see it in Library or Filmstrip.
I have read various manuals and don't see the answer as it is assumed LR does this. Nikon View NX2 on the same computer works fine.
I also wonder could there be a conflict between the Nikon View NX2 program and Lightroom.
I recently upgraded to lightroom 4 and I am having issues exporting my photos into a jpeg file. Lightroom is decreasing the size of my photo significantly, make them only about an 8 x 10 size and some as little as 3x5. I have tried everything I can think of, and it works as a tiff file, but for some reason it shrinks the picture on jpeg.

LR 4.3 down samples my photos when I export a slideshow to pdf or video. I've tried 1080p,720p, 960x540, 720x480 for video. I can only H.264, nothing else. I use an ID plate (photo frame) and music. Everything works fine when I play the slideshow in LR.

It seems to have started this evening. I exported files fine at file sizes of ex: 5387 kb the original size. Not they are exporting at ex: 478 kb.
