Jul 21, 2012I downloaded LR 4 and it opens but only the LR 4 superstructure (frames, info on left side) is visible. There are no phoyos from the catalogs listed on the left side.

Sep 22, 2013I tried opening the images that I applied lightroom filters on, and the images did not change at all, though when I go to lightroom the filters are present. Does that mean that lightroom filters only work inside lightroom? Is there a way to save the photos with the filter(s) applied?

Mar 17, 2014Our problem with Lightroom is this: After inporting images, they do not show in the library mode. The tree view shows first image of the folder, but the library preview does not open.- Probllem is persistant and any new images after 3 weeks are not showing up.- problem is resistant, we upgraded from 5.0 to 5.3, but problem is consistant.
System specs: Generic computer, 8gb memory, windows 7 ultimate 64bits.c: (SSD) houses lightroom, windows & catalogue files.d: houses inport with Picasa files.p: Container of accepted and to be edited image f
General process of images: Import with picasa of images, verification of image quality and rejecting failures.After all images are done, use of syncredibles program to copy new files not yet on the picasa library folder. This basicly checks and moves pictures that are currently on drive D: but are not yet on drive P. After new files are transferred, then picasa will re-import with add function on import from its own folders.

We have tried to study this problem, and first we notised that folders that houses images on both driwes, started to receve "read only" atrribute. Even tho we cleared this with user restrictions (folder security) the imported images still refuse to load the previews.Catalogue contains over 30 000 raw images.
We are starting to shoot blanks here. In short, the tree view shows first image of the folder, images are present in the system, but when you click the tree view to open up the folder, no images will refresh to center view of the screen. If pressed couple of times screen will go white, and crash LR.We have tried to "find missing files" and "folder synchronication.

Nov 21, 2011I have things cataloged in folders by country then by year, then date. If I try to add a folder I am directed to my Lightroom folder and everything is in order, ie Lightroom/Asia/China/2008/ 2008-6-16. But I can't see that on the right side of LR.

Aug 1, 2013A few days ago I was importing photos (RAW to DNG) and my computer locked. i had to reboot, and ever since when i import photos they will not load (preview) in Library. Also Histogram just reads "calculating", but no graph loads in. If I go to develop, the photo will load in, and I can export it with no issue. I just can't view photos in Library. also, photos imported prior to that event will load in and can be viewed in Library. Just nothing going forward. My OS is Vista and i'm running Lightroom 4.4

When I select a value from the 3d object and try to paint with that value, it's showing up as a different value altogether (the image hopefully illustrates this much better than words).

Aug 14, 2012When i'm editing photos in the develop module they look really clear and good. When i switch to the library, they have a lot of noise and look nothing like how I edited them. I am using lightroom 4 for my mac. It's annoying to have to switch between the develop module and library to see what they are going to look like.

Apr 16, 2013I have organized all my pictures into year>season (winter, spring etc)>event. I have been using photoshop to edit and output my pictures and then taking the edited ones and loading them into iphoto which makes them as "events" I have liked this a lot. As I switch to Lightroom (something I am very ready to do), I don't see a similar grouping feature. It seems you can make key words or collections, but I don't see an automatic grouping system that would nest photos from events (ie taken on the same day).

Apr 21, 2013I am using Lightroom 4.4 Dell Ultrasharp monitor is calibrated. I own and have been referring to Scott Kelby's Lightroom4 book for digital photographers. I recently took some photos of my daughters prom. She had on a beautiful reddish orange dress. I notice that the dress appears very red in the develop module, however, appears a bit more orange in the library module. The change is very noticeable between the modules. The dress also appears similar to the library module view (a bit more orange) when viewed on the web via Flickr utilizing Chrome, Firefox, or IPad. It also appears the same when exported to a JPEG file.
I have done some experimenting and have determined that this color change effect appears to be very noticeable utilizing the Adobe Standard Camera Calibration Profile. It does not happen (at least to a noticeable extent) with the others such as Camera Standard where the dress appears a bit more orange in both the library and develop module. I do, however, like the appearance of the Adobe Standard profile better and this happens to be the default profile as well.
I have also noticed that the dress looks more orange when Soft Proofing is enabled. The change happens immediately when the check box is enabled. Checking the box makes the photo appear similar to the Library module view. Enabling Soft Proofing does make noticeable that there is Destination Gamut Warning which mainly involves the dress which is the point of interest, however, there is no warning with the Monitor Gamut Warning. I am intending to place the photos on the web at this time via Flickr. I will be printing several later so will be worrying about the printer gamut at that time. But for now, I would like to get the photos on the web looking as intended.
Lightroom :: Exporting All Photos And Snapshots Of Each From Library
May 4, 2012It seems like a simple enough request, but I'm just not seeing it. When I export (from Library) I want all the photos and snapshots of each to be exported. Is there a way to do this? Or, do I need to make virtual copies of each snapshot, THEN do an export?

Jul 11, 2012Is there a procedural way to download my photos to LR3 instead of Image Capture on my iMAC? I had Apple Store Geniuses fix the Safe Mode problem (which i posted in a different thread) so when I got home and tried to download my photos from the CF card reader it showed up in the Image Capture screen but not in LR3. I had the CF card reader attached to the computer's USB port before turning on the computer.
Should I have turned on the computer first and then open LR3 before connecting the card reader? My guess is that because LR3 was not opened first, the downloading went somewhere else.
Lightroom :: Cannot Use Library Filters In Collections - Getting No Photos Match
Mar 12, 2012I can't use the library filters in collections as they return no results despite there being valid search criteria. Images with one star rating are not shown when filters are set to rated in the collection. The filters do return results when searching in collection sets however.

Mar 10, 2012I have a folder containing all my photos (15000 photos: 70% JPG, 30% NEF) in a sorted folder-structure.
I am trying to import that filestructure to Lightroom, but after some thousand fotos the import-process just stops. Lightroom is still usable, the "import-progress-bar" shows the correct value (something below 50%) but import action is frozen.
I can shutdown the program and them try to restart them import, but it does not work.
When I then try to import the fotos "year by year" then it also has the same behaviour after some time...
Seems to me quite a bug for the sake of a photo-management-tool?

Sep 3, 2012How can this possibly happen? The section Apply During Import in the import dialog screen has a field for Develop Settings, but this field says None, so nothing should happen to the photos during import. So why do the display in B&W in Library?

Dec 15, 2012I am a photographer shooting photo sets of cars and need to keep them in order of shooting upon uploading. I am trying to attach a graphic logo watermark to the first shot of each set while keeping them all in the same export order. But...I understand in order to attach the logo, I must be in export mode. Upon completion of the first photo watermark attachment.....I need to complete the export before going on to the next first shot of the series in the same library grid.
Maybe I am missing something here but need to figure this out other than in the export mode. If I take the pic to edit in photoshop to apply and flatten I back into Lightroom it puts the watermarked photo at the end of the library grid of photos.Do I need to apply to original instead of a copy to keep in right order?

Mar 2, 2012Trying to move some photos to a different folder in the Library Module. I highlite the photos, click on the folder I want to move them to and press "Move Selected Photos to this Folder." Then I get an error message that the photos are already in the destination. OK. 1 Problem I just made the folder. My computer crashed about 3 weeks ago. Got it back up and reinstalled LR3.
Made 2 catalogs;
1. Personal and
2. Work Photos.
All of my personal photos I put in the personal cat with no sub-folders, my work went into the work which I made sub-folders. Today I finally got the time to set up my Personal folder. Made 3 new folders, one was Vietnam, which I divided into sub-folders of the place I was stationed and my R&R to Hawaii. Started separating the photos, all went well till I tried to move photos to a sub-folder call Phu Loi. Then I got the error message.
Lightroom :: 4.4 And Now 5 Does Not Display Photos In Filmstrip Or Library Module
Sep 13, 2013I have been using LR4.4 and now upgraded to 5. My only problem has been neither versions display the photos in filmstrip or the Library module after being imported. It displays blank frames and you can click on one in Develop and it will show the photo. But its obviously very hard to identify a specific photo if you can't see it in Library or Filmstrip.
I have read various manuals and don't see the answer as it is assumed LR does this. Nikon View NX2 on the same computer works fine.
I also wonder could there be a conflict between the Nikon View NX2 program and Lightroom.

Mar 6, 2012Downloaded LR4 this morning, backed up and upgraded the catalog. None of my photos appear in the Develop Module when I switch to that module from the Folders, though they appear when I switch from a Smart Collection, but not a standard Collection. It shows "No Photo Seclected". Regardless of where I switch from, no photos appear in the filmstrip in the Library or Develop module, though the location menu just above the filmstrip shows the correct number of photos in that particular folder. I'm on a late model iMac, OS 10.7.3, with 12 GB RAM.

I can see all my old photos in Library mode, and when I click on any of them - I can do Quick Edits (or anything else allowed) in Library mode; however, LR 4.2 isn't leting me open the selected pic in Developer mode
Lightroom :: Import Not Showing All Photos In Folder
Jan 16, 2012I am trying to sync my folders but Lightroom is not importing all of the photos in the folder. In one folder I have 675 photos (both jpg and CR2) and Lightroom is only importing 1. Even though you can look at the folder in another window and see all 675 (photo below). This is happening in several of my folders.
The folders that have problems have arrows that are greyed out versus solid grey arrows. If the info is needed:
- Mac Mini - OSX (Leopard)
- Lightroom 3
- Photos were in Aperature prior to exporting out to import into Lightroom
- Photos were either taken with Canon Rebel XS or Canon Powershot S3IS
- I have tried optimizing my catalog.
- I have tried remove the folder from Lightroom and re-importing. Still only recognizes 1 photo.
- The do not import duplicates button is not clicked
- I have confirmed that all filters are off.
Lightroom :: Cannot Move Photos Via Drag And Drop (library Grid View)
Aug 12, 2013I've seen several adobe tutorials and youtube videos that show moving photos or folders by drag and drop in the library grid view. I cannot get it to work.
Steps:
1. Mousedown on a photo (not the frame) in the grid
2. Drag the mouse to a folder in the "Folder" pane (left of the grid)
3. Mouseup on the destination folder
Results:
Nothing happens. The mouse cursor doesn't change from the arrow. There is no indication I can drag and drop. The photos are not moved.
The photos are stored on a NAS. Of course I can move them around via Windows Explorer, but I want to do this from inside LR4 for obvious reasons. From LR4, I can create new folders, but I still cannot move photos into those folders. I also tried creating a new folder on a local drive. Again, I was able to create the folders, but was not able to move any photos into the folder.

Mar 22, 2013I have built a smart collection that is for my photos without a title, but the photos with titles are showing up also. The condition I use is "title doesn't contain words." Do I need to add other conditions? I'm not using any of the conditions in the "find bar" at top of Library Module. I'm trying to build my own workflow using Smart Collections.
