using lightroom 4. i have edited a bunch of raw files in LR4, before i exported the files to jpegs i accidentally deleted the raw file from the hard drive. i ca n still see the the file and images in LR4 is there any way I can export them to jpegs or do anything with them so as I can use them?? yes I have also emptied the recycle bin

I am still learning LR but if they sent me the catalog file (lrcat) would that allow me to "zero" out all the edits they did to the files I have or would they still have to send me the originals?

I don't use smart collections much. Could that be set up as an attribute? Like the way Itunes has last played in decending order.
I'll have to scroll through 5,000 images now to find it and export to PS for some final work.
Using Win7 64-bit O/S. My usual procedure from LR4 after editing is to export to Elements 9 catalog using the Cntl-Shift-E commmand. I rename the file as it suits me then export to my hard drive location by pressing "Export". I then go to PSE and get the message "New files have been found. Do you want to import?" Clicking yes adds the file to my Library. After installing LR5, I can't import edited files from LR5 OR Photoshop (CS5).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to recreate a bunch of IV-Studio settings to match a bunch of renders made by previous staff that did not leave behind the assembly files they used to make them in the first place.
I've ran into a problem with some parts displaying incorrectly. (they display incorrectly in the render/in the studio environment/ in the assembly/ and when in the part file) I've played with material and appearance styles but they have no effect, I've also tried quality/performance/compatibility hardware modes.
We have 5 or 6 parts that share the ridge pattern that is causing problems and they are affected in the same way.I'm running XP(32), IV2012-sp2, fx1800 with 6.14.0012.6570 drivers.
I see a picture in LR4. Open with PS CS3 and crop it, save and close. Back in LR the picture remains in its unedited crop in both gallery and loupe views. If I reopen in PS the crop I made is still there. How can I preview the edited file in the new crop in LR?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter sending files to Photoshop for further editing, use simple "save" command to return them to Lightroom. That used to work but now only JPEG files do round trip, not raw files (DNGs) although round tripping to Elements works fine. Photoshop is saving them to my catalogue instead.
Adobe agent spent more than an hour tinkering with my computer before giving up. Tried to blame use of DNG but this is an Adobe invention. Also said to use synchronise folder command as a work round but this restores deleted files as well. He promised to "escalate the problem" and I would be called back, but that was a week ago.
Working on an iMac in LR3, I thought I was deleting one unwanted file from disk, but actually had all 22 edited images highlighted and deleted them all. I need to undo 'delete from disk' on edited files, however 'undo' is greyed out and command Z is ineffective. I see them all in the trash and the preview shows how they appeared with my edits. When I did this once before, I moved images out of trash back into original file on the hard drive and reimported into LR3, however the edits were not maintained. I need to retain these edits (days of work!) so how do I undo my mistake?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have been exporting photos into a folder called edited in my originals folder. then i delete the originals and dump the edited into the main folder. but then i can no longer access the photos in lightroom because it says the file is missing. what am i doing wrong? do i have to keep originals and edited photos in my folders? i try to export to replace originals but that doesnt work and it will only work if i put in sub folder. i dont want to keep a copy of originals and edited, but i also dont want to not be able to make more edits in the future.

Just tried to import a bunch of photos the way I always do with my Lexar CF express card reader and LR4 gives me a huge error box and won't go any further. I've rebooted but the same error returns. I've attached a screen shot of the error. Other software functions fine but I can't even close LR4 because of this error.

I need to move a bunch of pictures located in different sub-folders on Drive C: to my new 2Tb Drive D:
I try to move it in LR via the import function with MOVE. But, they are all greyed out (not selectable) and when I try to move 1-by-1 by right-clicking on a picture, a message is displayed telling me that the picture is already in the catalogue. I know it is already in the catalogue. All I need to do is to move it to another HDD.
How would you do this? I have just thought of deleting all files in the catalogue and import them then, but it just does not feel right.
Can a file created in CS3 be opened on another computer and edited in CS6?
View 2 Replies View RelatedFor no apparent reason my PSE 11 application seems to have developed an annoying glitch whereby part way through an editing process it stops doing as requested in the "Save" options, by not saving edited files as version sets of the original file in the Organiser. The files are saved OK to My Pictures and I then get advised that a file is available to import and I have to import each one, stack it with the original, and put the edited file on top. This is driving me nuts as I have about 1000 photos to edit. My only thoughts are that I have c.30000 picture files in the Organiser (but this hasn't caused any problems in adding new files) and that the problem seems to have arisen since I started editing files directly from within an Album.

Photos have been saved as Jpeg and PSD and the check box to save in Organiser also ticked. Timeline does not show anything saved today and untagged media is not picking up anything.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhy are my previously edited canon 5d mark 3 raw xmp files no longer recognized and all sliders set to zero? I can see the xmp files associated with the raw file in their folder. The files were originally edited in CS6/ACR 7.x -in July 2012 - and recently re-opened in the same CS6/ACR 7.x.
The canon 5d mark 2 files from the same time/event are showing up fine. I have updated everything, but both before and after the update, same issue with the Mark 3 files.
On a side note:We have found that opening mark 2 files (that were originally edited in CS4 / ACR 5.7) in CS 6 / ACR 7.x and making any changes such as color coding causes all previous xmp information being zero'd out in the mark 2 xmp file. Not sure if this is a symptom of the same problem? Except the difference here is the Mark 3 files have never been touched outside of version CS6/ACR7.x - however the folder which holds both mark 2 & mark 3 files from the same event has been opened in the CS4 / ACR 5.7 window but without touching the files. By opening the folder in CS4 I can see that the Mark 3 files aren't reading and then know this event was originally edited in CS6/ACR 7.x

I can't create MPEG-4 HD 1920x1080 25fps files from my edited video's. Even creating a template with 1920x1080 and 25fps seems impossible. I only get a 30fps (default?) setting.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to edit an image in Photoshop from Lightroom 4 (CTRL+E), Photoshop CS6 launches immediately but with no image. In Lightroom 4, after about two minutes, the message box appears saying "The file could not be edited because Adobe Photoshop CS6 could not be launched." When I click OK, the image promptly opens in Photoshop CS6 like normal. This wan an itermittent issue for me after the LR4.1 release. I get the error every time.

Is there some way to make a collection of only the images that were modified in Lightroom? And conversely, only those images which were imported with no changes?
I am able to export from Lightroom to my computer (iMac), but the file that shows up is NOT EDITED.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to Lightroom 4 this week and am haing trouble getting CS5 to open the Lightroom-edited photos. For example, if I adjust the exposure, clarity, etc. in LR 4 and then hit command E to take the file over to Photoshop for further editing, CS5 isn't opening that edited file. It is opening the original file that was imported into LR 4 but not the edited version. These are RAW files.
Interestingly, all of the older files that I originally edited in LR 3 (they have now been moved into the LR4 catalog) will still move over from LR4 to CS5 when I hit command E. Only the files that were imported from my camera card directly into LR 4 aren't cooperating.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIf I use the Develop module in LR to edit CR2(Raw) images and want to complete the editing it in CS5 there is no option to 'edit a copy with lightroom adjustments'. I get the option with Jpeg images but not Raw. If I choose Edit in CS5 I just get the original file and not the one I have been working on. How do I ask LR to edit my developed image in CS5? I am usung CS5 and LR4.
