View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using elements 7 and photograph in raw. After editing the raw image I create a jpg, saving to the same file as the raw image and its associated xmp file. If I further edit the jpg, elements sends the previous version of the jpg to the recycle bin together with the xmp file, so that if I want to reopen the raw file I have lost the editing information. Is this a glitch, or normal? Is there a way to stop this happening?
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo last week I shot a wedding. I just imported pictures from my computer and have been working on them. Tonight I sit down to edit and was going to delete another catalog not thinking and deleted all of my pictures including my wedding folders. Those had thousands of files most of which I had already edited. They went to my Recycle Bin so I do still have them but now they are not edited. Is there ANY way of getting what I had edited back?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been deleting, or rather, REMOVING files as I edit a wedding, I assumed they would go to the recycle bin which I could empty at a later date, this is not the case and now when I start up LR it is telling me that I am running critically low on disc space on my c drive and that I need to delete the files.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently ran into an issue where it seems like ever day or two, I find my PNGs for my Civil 3D tool palettes in the recycle bin. I keep restoring them to the original location, but a day or two later they are back in the recycle bin. Any way to stop this from happening, and if so, how do I go about implementing the fix?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI accidentally deleted some files from my SD card and hard drive thinking I had them backed up, turns out they weren't. However, the photos still show up in my Lightroom collections, is there any way I can save the files that are on Lightroom to my hard drive? I'm running Lightroom 5 on a mac.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI deleted hundreds of photos in lightroom, and I think they also got deleted from the folders that I exported them too because they are now missing.
When I deleted them they went into my trash, and then I went on and emptied my trash.
I don't have their thumbnails or anything, is there any way I can get these back?!
If I do an import from my memory card, choose my external hard drive as a second location for the import, and then go into my catalog and delete the bad photos, is there any quick way to also remove those files from the backup on the external hard drive? I've got a ton of wasted space on my external HD due to things that I've deleted and don't know of any simple way to get rid of them short of formatting the drive and doing another export, which takes a long time and isn't something I want to do all that often.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have my pictures on an external HD, formatted to Windows (XP). On my WIN7 computer, I've imported the pictures from the ext HD, into LR5. But I can't delete a bad picture, only remove from catalog. When I try to delete, I get this message : "the file could not be moved to resycle bin". If I go to the folder in Windows I have no problem deleting the file.I Should mention, that a Macbook Air have been reading files from this ext HDD.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a lot of images in my library. Last night I was working on a picture, I had to force restart the computer this morning.Just wondering if there is a way like "previous import" to show the images "Developed"
I don't use smart collections much. Could that be set up as an attribute? Like the way Itunes has last played in decending order.
I'll have to scroll through 5,000 images now to find it and export to PS for some final work.
I have been using Lightroom 5 happily for several months with no problems. A few weeks ago, I started getting the message at the import screen that previews were not available. This was OK, I just guessed on which I needed to import.
Starting last week, I cannot import files from either of my cameras. On the import screen, when it is trying to find files, it just hangs up. Have let it go for half an hour and nothing. When I click "cancel", I get the message that Lightroom has encountered a problem and needs to close.
I have tried purging the cache, though I'm not sure it is working, as I never get any message that the purge has been successfully completed. I click the button and nothing happens. I have tried starting a new catalog in case my other one is too big (approx 14,000 images), but same problem. I have tried installing the beta 5.2 version, still same problem.
I would love a solution to this, as for now I am having to import the NEF files by just dragging them to a folder on my desktop, and then importing the files from that folder into lightroom (when importing from folders on the computer, I have no problems).
A while ago I edited some dng´s in Lightroom and saved the metadata to the files. Now I need to do some changes and the dng´s look just like the RAW files (unedited). Where do I find the metadata that was saved to the dng files?
View 15 Replies View RelatedI still use Picasa and LR3 (new to LR3, havent made the full switch as I'm still trying to get a grip on the LR3 learning curve)
What I did was change the folder names in Picasa (and found out I cannot undo folder name changes). I can locate the files in LR3 by keyword, but dont know how to reassosiate the files to their new folder.
Whats the the best way for LR3 to find these files again? I dont want to have to delete and reload the images, but will if its easier
Yesterday I installed LR 4 Beta. I had a folder with 300 images in it on LR 3, obviously all files had names. I imported these photos into LR4 to work with LR4 and they were renamed in the process. Now in my LR3 folder, all the files still have there old names and the "missing photo ?" and I assume that's because the name has been changed and LR3 can't find them.
View 7 Replies View RelatedJust got PS CS6 and Illustrator CS6 and went on to edit some pics of my cat. Only to find out that my Lightroom 3.6 doesn't seem to find PNG files exported from RAW using PS CS6.
Is this normal and I have to cough up some more for LR4?
1. "Failed to find a place for the imported files"
2. "not recognized"
I imported some photos to develop. I did not finish developing them and imported another set. Now I want to go back to that previous import to deveop and edit, but I can't find those photos. They are grayed out in the import and I can not import again, when I click on one of them it says they are already in the catalog, but I can't find them any where in light room. Previous import does not work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAutoCadLT2012 has deleted the data from all the files I was currently working on. The files are there and the backup is there , but all data has been removed. I have searched my entire computer (three hard drives) and Acad backup, auto save, etc. and the files are there, but no dwg.

I have some ABR files (blue, red, & brown numbered files) that I have combined to make new ABR files (blue, red & brown corresponding files marked as "M"). The problem is, after creating & saving my new ABR files, I went into the Presets/Brushes folder & deleted the original individual (blue, red & brown numbered files) ABR files. HOWEVER, as you can clearly see, they're still in my selection list in CS6!
The whole reason for doing this was ease of accessing certain types of brushes & to clean that list! If I can't figure out how to remove the DELETED ABR files from the list, it will be huge by the time I'm done!!! I have closed & re-opened CS6, hoping that will "refresh" my brush selection list. As you can see, it most definitely has not.
deleted files (xmp) from my catalog in photo shop elements 12 they are in trash. Can I recover them back to my catalog.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen i rename files in batch in Bridge CS6 the extension from my files is deleted, leaving me with exec files. Sometimes the new name is given but the extension disappears and other times the new name i wanted to give my files appears in place of the extension.
I have had this problem for a while in combination with a cache problem (every time when opening bridge it asked me to purge the cache). I seemed to be solved by renaming the cache folder cache_old and creating a new one but now the batch renaming problem has returned.
I try to setup Photoshop on my computer an error message pops up saying that an error has occured during the setup with a bunch of numbers. I don't know what to do and its really annoying because I need photoshop on my computer and it won't allow me to install it. Someone please help. Am I missing files that are needed to install it or what? Also does anyone know how to reinstall .dll files that were accidentally deleted.
View 6 Replies View RelatedDo the previews (1:1 etc.) get deleted from the previews.lrdata file when you remove the photo from Lightroom?
If yes, does it happen imediately, when the catalog closes, or when you optimize?
If not, how do I get rid of them without loosing the rest?
I have several fairly large catalogs and the preview data files are getting pretty large.
Lightroom 4.4 (will switch to 5 when I have time between projects)
