I thought I was permanently deleting just one photo, but apparently I must have had 30 photos selected. Now they are all gone. Not in my recycle bin or anything. Can I recover them?
I just mistakenly deleted all my 5000 dng files, and some xmp files are in the trash too. How do I get them back in the catalog? My last backup says it was after I had deleted them (apparently I set it to auto backup?) My only excuse is that I was in an accident 2 days ago. Maybe shouldn't be doing much in Lightroom~!
I was working with a comic illustration, straight 10 hours in a .PSD file without closing it (Of course I saved REALLY often). That includes making path layers in the early process. And when I was painting with those lines generated from paths, I noticed that all of my path layers are gone!! Deleting the paths must be some kind of accidents (like hitting del. key trying to delete contents in the layers, but it deleted some unintentionally selected paths instead. I want a fix to this.) but I can't figure it out how all of them are deleted.
All of my progresses depends on those paths, and that means I will have to repeat the 10 hours all over again.
I have tried many ways to recover it but nothing works:
1. The history state which I was making those paths can't be recovered. It was deleted. If I went to the snapshot state, it's only a raw scanned draft. in other words, the history state is somewhere between snapshot and earliest history state.
2. I tried a file recovery tool. It could dig up temp files but they are all useless since they are made each time I was saving, and I can go back only half an hour with that. This is a case which "saving often" backfires. Also I don't know which file else I should recover.
3. I looked in PSAutoRecover folder and found nothing. I have not been monitoring the folder so I can't tell if auto-saves were made or not, but I am sure auto-save was turned on.
4. There are also temp files in the root of cache drive. I tried copying them into another drive but it said Photoshop is using the file, and they were all gone once I unlocked it with force.
Two days ago, in attempt to clean up my computer, I transferred all of my files to an external hard drive, including my LR files with a document ending in, ".ircat".
When I tried to open LR yesterday, none of my files appeared. I put the file back on my computer (from the external hard drive). I reopened LR and only a few of my files are showing (my most recent import and some random files). However, the majority of my almost 5,000 files are gone. I can see the names of certain galleries, the color labels, and I can even see if I've edited the photo or sent it to quick collection. However, I cannot see the photo itself. There are question marks next to folders that are completely empty. Is there a way to get my files back or did I damage them in the transfer?
So last week I shot a wedding. I just imported pictures from my computer and have been working on them. Tonight I sit down to edit and was going to delete another catalog not thinking and deleted all of my pictures including my wedding folders. Those had thousands of files most of which I had already edited. They went to my Recycle Bin so I do still have them but now they are not edited. Is there ANY way of getting what I had edited back?
I have been deleting, or rather, REMOVING files as I edit a wedding, I assumed they would go to the recycle bin which I could empty at a later date, this is not the case and now when I start up LR it is telling me that I am running critically low on disc space on my c drive and that I need to delete the files.
I was working on a photoshop project and then saved it as a JPEG, but accidentally closed it out without saving it as a project (.psd)... how do I recover the file?
My external hard drive accidentally fell from my desktop and now I have lost all my raw file. My Lightroom 2 still has the .dng files, can I recover my .dng files without the original raw files?
I have Lightroom 3.6 and have lost some files in LIghtroom and on my harddrive. I can still see the images in Lightroom. I have tried to pull up my previous back ups but still can not access the files. Is there anyway to recover the images from LIghtroom?
I accidentally deleted some files from my SD card and hard drive thinking I had them backed up, turns out they weren't. However, the photos still show up in my Lightroom collections, is there any way I can save the files that are on Lightroom to my hard drive? I'm running Lightroom 5 on a mac.
If I do an import from my memory card, choose my external hard drive as a second location for the import, and then go into my catalog and delete the bad photos, is there any quick way to also remove those files from the backup on the external hard drive? I've got a ton of wasted space on my external HD due to things that I've deleted and don't know of any simple way to get rid of them short of formatting the drive and doing another export, which takes a long time and isn't something I want to do all that often.
I work with photos that I put on desktop. I open them with preview, make a copy, and paste them into other software. When I am through with them and don't want to use them again, I usually move them from the desktop to the trash....that's when I get the (?)(missing file) notation on my photo in organizer. Is there a way to remove them from the desktop without moving them to the trash. Using macbookpro os x 10.6.8
If I delete an image from my library it is not appearing in 'Trash'. I am pretty sure it used to, and this may be since the upgrade to LR4.1, but I am not sure. I am on an iMac with Lion.
In Bridge I got an error message saying I needed to purge the cache folder, but when I attempt to do that, everything freezes and I have to force quit Bridge. I was told to go to the Bridge cache folder in "library" and delete specific folders there to solve my problem. Unfortunately, I cannot find "library' neither by opening folders and looking nor by doing a search for "library".
I recently transferred all my work from a work computer to my mac at home. i am unable to access my work computer until October as we are having a 'break'. However, I have a deadline for September 15th and I need all my files. Some older files open perfectly fine but I fear there was a problem in downloading-perhaps due to my haste to leave and enjoy the beautiful weather! I tried downloading a Remo Repair software but unfortunately this was unable to launch.
Basic notes:
Created on Windows computer cs5
Trying to open on Mac cs5
Sd card used to transfer-couldn't eject, this may be the problem
I was working on a Photoshop project and then saved it as a JPEG, but accidentally closed it out without saving it as a project (.psd)... how do I recover the file?
I've been working on a 32 page project for a week now and while working I noticed that the miniature preview was lost and replaced with a "pen" icon. It's usually a sign of something bad and after closing the file I tried to open it again.
Even though windows says the file is 173 MB, the file is blank. Nothing appears in the object manager either. What do I do to reveal the content? I have deadline tomorrow? The backup is corrupt too for some reason. A backup that gets corrupt - whats the use of it?
I have Windows XP pro OS. I have installed Microsoft MyPrivate Folder 1.0 Software to lock my pictures. Unfortunately my system got infected with VIRUS, and not able to open myprivate folder files. So I have formatted and reinstalled the operating system and recovered the backup of myprivate folder files. But Now I am not able to open those files. I want to know how to open those files. I have very important documents scanned and saved in myprivate folder. So please help me how to recover and open the files. some softwares to open and decrypt my files?
To save my photo, the program ask me to merge all my layers. But what if I want to change my photo after? Is it impossible to recover my layers after saving?
I had PSE 10 installed on my Windows 7 machine when my hard drive started to fail, rendering the OS unbootable. Luckily I have all of my pictures stored on an external RAID (5+1), but I'd like to get all of my catalog information back (albums, people tags, etc.). Is there a way to do that without having to start PSE and run a backup (since that's not really feasible). There are two pieces of information that I hope will make this possible:
1) I have a backup of my c:Users directory on an external drive 2) I have successfully attached my old hard drive to a different machine where I can access most of the files on the drive (although some are corrupt).
I guess what I really need to know is what files I need to copy in order to preserve this data.
AutoCadLT2012 has deleted the data from all the files I was currently working on. The files are there and the backup is there , but all data has been removed. I have searched my entire computer (three hard drives) and Acad backup, auto save, etc. and the files are there, but no dwg.
