Jan 25, 2013I inadvertently deleted some photos. Is there anyway to recover them?

View 2 RepliesI thought I was permanently deleting just one photo, but apparently I must have had 30 photos selected. Now they are all gone. Not in my recycle bin or anything. Can I recover them?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was working with a comic illustration, straight 10 hours in a .PSD file without closing it (Of course I saved REALLY often). That includes making path layers in the early process. And when I was painting with those lines generated from paths, I noticed that all of my path layers are gone!! Deleting the paths must be some kind of accidents (like hitting del. key trying to delete contents in the layers, but it deleted some unintentionally selected paths instead. I want a fix to this.) but I can't figure it out how all of them are deleted.
All of my progresses depends on those paths, and that means I will have to repeat the 10 hours all over again.
I have tried many ways to recover it but nothing works:
1. The history state which I was making those paths can't be recovered. It was deleted. If I went to the snapshot state, it's only a raw scanned draft. in other words, the history state is somewhere between snapshot and earliest history state.
2. I tried a file recovery tool. It could dig up temp files but they are all useless since they are made each time I was saving, and I can go back only half an hour with that. This is a case which "saving often" backfires. Also I don't know which file else I should recover.
3. I looked in PSAutoRecover folder and found nothing. I have not been monitoring the folder so I can't tell if auto-saves were made or not, but I am sure auto-save was turned on.
4. There are also temp files in the root of cache drive. I tried copying them into another drive but it said Photoshop is using the file, and they were all gone once I unlocked it with force.
I just downloaded Elements 11 for the first time and spent considerable time editing photos. I then received a message that the program had stopped working. When I tried to go back in, the photo bin was empty. Have I lost all my edited photos or can I recover?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI accidently threw a few photos into the trash in LR4. How do I recover them? I can't find them anywhere.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI deleted hundreds of photos in lightroom, and I think they also got deleted from the folders that I exported them too because they are now missing.
When I deleted them they went into my trash, and then I went on and emptied my trash.
I don't have their thumbnails or anything, is there any way I can get these back?!
I copied photo folders from my hard drive to lightroom 4 and edited them but then accidentally removed these folders from lightroom. I then imported these folders again into lightroom but all the edits I made orginally in lightroom don't show up for the individual photo's.
I backed up the Lightroom catalogue regularily. Is there any way I can reattach these edits to their respective photos'. There is lot of photo's involved.
I edited a lot of pictures and saved them somewhere in my external hard drive, but don't know where, i'm afraid i might have overlaid the folder with a previous version of it so, my question is, is there any way to see where you've saved your edited pictures, or, does Photoshop save it in somewhere else besides the folder that you've "save as…"'ed ?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a batch of photos that were imported in Lr, edited, and exported with a watermark. I then deleted the original file. Well, the pictures still show up in my photo strip in Lr, but it won't let me export it because it's saying the "file is missing or offline". I know I deleted these photos and have no way of retrieving them. Question is: Since I can still view them in Lightroom, is there any way to export them now? Even if I have to open in another program and save them, I don't care. I just need these photos w/o the watermark.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI used Dup Finder (plugin) to find duplicate pictures in my LR catalog. I then erased them through Lightroom. what I didn't realize is that Dup Finder puts both the otiginal file and the duplicate in a smart collection. I errased everything from that folder, so now I have missing photos and I don't know all the file names. Is there any way to recover these photos or at the very least find a history of changed to a catalog or collection (I have online backups of my photos, so if I know the file name, I can get them).

It seems like this should be possible - I can see the images right there on my screen, so they can't be gone for good!
The deleted photos comprise an entire day in Venice, Italy, and had already been sorted into keepers. Even if I could only get a medium sized jpeg, it'd be better than nothing at all.
I have deleted photos from Lightroom 4 by choosing the 'remove from disk' option. I never want to see them again so want them to go into the iMac Trash. However they are still in the folder where the original RAW files are on my desktop. does the delete process take a while to complete?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently downloaded Lightroom 3 (currently have L2 version) and upgraded to do a 30 day trial version. As I finished working on some new pictures and started working on a slideshow the application quit and asked me if I wanted to upgrade again, as I did that when the application started again the folder of the images I was working on was not there any more. How can I retrieve this again? Did I loose the images and the work I did on them?
View 8 Replies View RelatedSome time ago I had uploaded one collection of photos through Flickr photostream.
Tonight I set up a second collection to upload. I edited the connection to change from "Public" to "Family and Friends" for this upload. It asked me whether to change previous photo permissions or not. At first I said yes. Then I thought it over, especially after a popup box told me that all ratings and comments would be deleted since I had a free Flickr account. Given that, I decided not to change them. So I went into the Flickr photostream window in LR4 (I have not yet published) and when I saw all the previous photos there to be republished, I selected them and deleted them, to avoid having them re-uploaded.
Unfortunately, it didn't have that effect. It put them in a group called "Deleted photos to Remove." I don't want them removed from Flickr. But I can't seem to get them out of this category so I can publish the new photos without removing them. How do I get rid of these images from this window so they won't be removed from Flickr when I upload the new images?
Is there any way to export LR photosdirectly from LR if the original file has been deleted from Hardrive. If not, can the image from LR somehow still be printed as photos and if so how?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have Photoshop Elements 6.0. I was working on an image with 3 layers and I'd been saving very regularly, then my computer crashed. It didn't crash while I was saving but it must have still been saving when it happened because my file got damaged. Now when I open it, it comes up with a message saying 'This document contains Adobe Photoshop data which appears to be damaged. Continue and ignore the Photoshop data?' when I click ok it then says 'The embedded ICC profile cannot be used because the ICC profile descrition is invalid. Ignoring the profile'. When the image opens its completely flat and black. I've tries a few recovery programmes but that didn't seem to work. I found a temp file but I don't think it'ss a real temp file because it doesn't have an extension.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI had PSE 10 installed on my Windows 7 machine when my hard drive started to fail, rendering the OS unbootable. Luckily I have all of my pictures stored on an external RAID (5+1), but I'd like to get all of my catalog information back (albums, people tags, etc.). Is there a way to do that without having to start PSE and run a backup (since that's not really feasible). There are two pieces of information that I hope will make this possible:
1) I have a backup of my c:Users directory on an external drive
2) I have successfully attached my old hard drive to a different machine where I can access most of the files on the drive (although some are corrupt).
I guess what I really need to know is what files I need to copy in order to preserve this data.
I used photoshop element 9.. I was just finishing my flyer for a client. When I went to click save and was waiting for the save to complete, the photoshop just disappear and when I open it back up PSE9 and went to look for my file, I was working on it say This is not a vaild Portable Document File??? I dont want to start over from scratch Is there any way to recover the file?

View 1 Replies View RelatedPSE users have posted questions about removing deleted folders from the PSE catalog since version 5 or 6. Back in 2009, the recommendation was to delete only in PSE. However, I manage my folders, backups, and archives in Windows, because I prefer the interface and use other tools. This causes me to have many grayed-out folders in the PSE catalog. As each new version comes out, I hope this will get fixed, with no luck so far. Are there any new features in version 11 that make this possible? Is there any hope that a future versions will allow the user to clean up the catalog, or synchronize automatically to the real folder structure?
