Had to do a clean reload of Windows and PSE 8.0 and my pictures. I saved the Program files folder for PSE 8.0. How do I recover the Album and Tags back to the pictures? Are there files that I can restore from the saved PSe 8.)?
View 2 RepliesI use Photoshop Elements 9 with Windows 7 and backed up both my pictures and saved my albums as a XML file. Then my computer got a virus and the hard drive had to be wiped clean. I restored my files and pictures from an external hard drive. I reinstalled Photoshop Elements 9 and then uploaded the albums from the XML file I saved. All the album names are restored, but the pictures are not connected to the albums! How can I restore the albums with the pictures without starting over and dragging each picture into the album? I thought the XML file saved the picture/album links?

View 2 Replies View Relatedin PSE9 I could sort an album by date of the picure and then afterwards change locations of single pictures. This was extremely convinient to me. Now I upgraded to PSE11 and I can sort pictures in an album either by date or album order. But if I sort by date, I cant use this as start and only change locations of single pictures afterwards. If I want to do my own order, I need to start from scratch, use the initial order of the album and mover almost every picture.
Do I miss anything or is this functionality from PSE9 really simply gone?

Using Organizer 10/Share I was able to upload several "batches" of pics to an existing album even though the dropdown list of existing albums only showed 2, one of them was the one I wanted so all was good. Then on about the fifth load the target FB album disappeared from the list leaving only the FB Wall album. Seems like a bug to me.

View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I bought the new 27" iMac. I was keeping all my photos on an external drive but decided to use that for back up and move all the pics onto the new iMac's 3TB fusion drive. I made the move outside of Lightroom. Of course, when I did that, I botched up all the links.
Lightroom 4.3 now shows thumbnails of all my photos, none of my folders in the catalog window, all of my saved collections. What's the most efficient way of getting LR to link my catalog to my newly-located (internal) photos file?
I recently moved all my pictures developped with LR from my D DRive to an external one. But I guess I did it the wrong way (just searchimng for the files and moving them away). Then I imported again all my catalogs, but most of the pictures are "seen" AS DUPLICATE by LR and do not allow me any action on them. How can I fix it within deleting all the lrcat (libraries where all the changes done in the pictures are kept)?

The goal is to make it a Tumblr post, and save the multiple pages as an Adobe Acrobat pdf file.
My weak Google-fu tells me that I need to use the slicing tool, but I don't think that is available in Elements?
I have moved folders on my hard drive and want to delete the old links in elements organiser but the delete option is greyed out. I have tried to reconnect but this simply generates a new folder leaving the old one. I am new to photoshop and simply want to start oragising over again and delete all folders but cant. I have tried uninstalling and re installing but it installed listing all old links again..
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm reconstructing an old document originally developed with PageMaker. I've recreated a half dozen pages hopefully with more uniform techniques. The original line art for the pages was created in AutoCad and some were scans. To bring them into InDesign some of the art is now in psd format and some of the newer art is in Illustrator AI format.
I've noticed that the pages with photoshop art print pretty quickly (about 30 seconds). The ones with Illustrator art take much longer (about 1:30 seconds). They go through a flattening process.
I print these 50 page books on demand and that additional time would add about an hour.
I guess the question is whether this is normal and to be expected or not. If it is I'll likely turn everything into raster before going into InDesign. That, however, seems like quite a bit of extra work. Going from AutoCad to Illustrator (to add stroke) then to PhotoShop to change to raster and then into InDesign seems like a pretty convoluted work flow.
How do I recover albums that disappeared? I was in Elements, came back to Organize and thousands of hours of work were gone...no albums at all. Can they be recovered?

I did not make a separate backup of the Organizer Catalog beforehand, however the catalog is stil on the hard drive, now to be used as a data drive. How can I recover this catalog?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have Photoshop Elements 6.0. I was working on an image with 3 layers and I'd been saving very regularly, then my computer crashed. It didn't crash while I was saving but it must have still been saving when it happened because my file got damaged. Now when I open it, it comes up with a message saying 'This document contains Adobe Photoshop data which appears to be damaged. Continue and ignore the Photoshop data?' when I click ok it then says 'The embedded ICC profile cannot be used because the ICC profile descrition is invalid. Ignoring the profile'. When the image opens its completely flat and black. I've tries a few recovery programmes but that didn't seem to work. I found a temp file but I don't think it'ss a real temp file because it doesn't have an extension.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI had PSE 10 installed on my Windows 7 machine when my hard drive started to fail, rendering the OS unbootable. Luckily I have all of my pictures stored on an external RAID (5+1), but I'd like to get all of my catalog information back (albums, people tags, etc.). Is there a way to do that without having to start PSE and run a backup (since that's not really feasible).There are two pieces of information that I hope will make this possible:
1) I have a backup of my c:Users directory on an external drive
2) I have successfully attached my old hard drive to a different machine where I can access most of the files on the drive (although some are corrupt).
I guess what I really need to know is what files I need to copy in order to preserve this data.

Under Windows images, only the first link Tile is active. That means I can only have one layout open at a time. The next four in that section are grayed out. I need to use the last one, Consolidate all to tabs.
I re-created preferences and also did a system restore to a prior date without success. I am working on a class assignment and digital scrapping layout.
Following a Backup and Restore process to move from PSE 11 on Windows 7 to PSE 11 on Mac (Mt. Lion) I have broken links. Other catalog info is intact (file name, captions, tags, etc.). I moved 6 catalogs...only 1 was successful.
Background: I started with PSE 10 on Windows 7...installed PSE 11 and converted all catalogs successfully. Used File, Back Up (Full) process with an external drive to move the files and catalogs to PSE 11 on the Mac (10.8) using File, Restore Catalogs. I suspect that the issue may be in the portion of the Restore process that allows the choice between Original Location or New Location...seems like I tried both. The Adobe instructions in the PSE 11 offered step-by-step instructions but didn't elaborate much on the Location issue. I tried File, Reconnect, Reconnect All Files without success.
I just downloaded Elements 11 for the first time and spent considerable time editing photos. I then received a message that the program had stopped working. When I tried to go back in, the photo bin was empty. Have I lost all my edited photos or can I recover?

The only way to access it is if I right click on a photo and choose Elements 5 as my opening program. I am worried that if I do an unistall/reinstall that Elements 5 will no longer be compatible with my Windows 7.

Right clicked on an album for "Export to DVD" and a little preview window opened & downloaded 360 images for 10-12 minutes, it closed, then I put a DVD in the tray & the program automatically started to burn to it for about 10 seconds. I checked the DVD and it only had nine images.
Tried the whole process again and got 7 images on this DVD. Why won't all 360 images in the album burn to the DVD [when they apparently all download to the "Preview" window?
I'm using photoshop elements and I've copied some photos in to an album from a folder. How do I delete a photo from the album without deleting it from the catalog?

After an import into organizer pics with same time stamp are arranged in random order so the series get mangled. It is no fun to bring back the correct sequence by hand for hundereds of pictures. Slideshows, Video etc. are senseless.
A simple "sort by name" would solve this. So, how to sort by name?
