I just added a SSD drive to my computer and reloaded all software including Windows 7 and Photoshop Elements 11 onto this new system drive. I did not make a separate backup of the Organizer Catalog beforehand, however the catalog is stil on the hard drive, now to be used as a data drive. How can I recover this catalog?
View 2 RepliesI had PSE 10 installed on my Windows 7 machine when my hard drive started to fail, rendering the OS unbootable. Luckily I have all of my pictures stored on an external RAID (5+1), but I'd like to get all of my catalog information back (albums, people tags, etc.). Is there a way to do that without having to start PSE and run a backup (since that's not really feasible).There are two pieces of information that I hope will make this possible:
1) I have a backup of my c:Users directory on an external drive
2) I have successfully attached my old hard drive to a different machine where I can access most of the files on the drive (although some are corrupt).

I guess what I really need to know is what files I need to copy in order to preserve this data.

It has however created a new (empty) catalog, whereas I still want to use the existing one with all of my edits on it. Do I now have to work with two separate catalog, or can I somehow move everything to this one? Obviously I don't work with catalog much.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently updated from LR3 to LR4. About halfway through my edit, LR crashed. Upon trying to open up the catalog that I was currently working on, it says that the file is corrupted and prompts me to a dialog box that asks to repair catalog, quit, etc.Â

I attempted to click to repair the catalog, however another error dialog box pops up saying that it cannot temporarily repair the file.

I've tried everything I could possibly think of, restarted the computer. Copied the raw files and catalog and tried to open it that way -- with no luck. I was editing away and then boom.. no longer have access.
My catalog is damaged after the power of my hard disk suddenly turned off.
I was importing my images to my catalog when the power was switched off. This caused an error in LR3.
And now I can't open the catalog anymore. I already created a new one and tried to import the damaged catalog into it but this didn't worked.
My images are still ok. All I want to recover are my tags and my collections as I had spent quick some into it.
I have raw files that have been imported and edited, but not saved as a catalog/collection. LR crashed & I had to un/reinstall LR (4.4). Can I recover those changes and reapply them to the raw files? If so, how?

I installed Photoshop Elements 10 on my new iMac (previously installed on my older imac). After installing the software and launching the organizer, it asked me to index my photos. Custom reindexing 11000 plus photos is not a pleasant thought. How do I find my old index, either on my new mac or on my time machine backup?

I have confirmed the my settings are correct and I am able to print to the printer using other applications.
I recently had my hard drive begin failing and had a new drive installed. I am trying to find out how to download PSE8 onto my new drive. I also need to reload Lightroom 4, which I have a disk for, but I keep getting an error 1935 when trying to install it.  I thought I would just go to the Adobe site and download it too, but besides the same problem I'm having with downloading PSE8, my Adobe info only listed PSE8. My records show I registered Lightroom November 2012.Â

The catalog is named My Catalog 2 is located at C:ProgramDataAdobeElements OrganizerCatalogsMy Catalog 2. It is the only catalog I use and is the one that opens up when I launch Organizer. But, for the life of me, I can't get it to show up in the Catalog Manager. The only catalog that shows up is the original catalog which is at a different location and was created when I installed PSE11 on my new computer (Thinkpad W530, Windows 8). I've tried the Custom Location option and browsing to the location, but still no dice. This catalog has thousands of pictures and was converted from my previous PSE6 catalog. How do I get the Catalog Manager to find my current active catalog?Â

It didn't crash while I was saving but it must have still been saving when it happened because my file got damaged. Now when I open it, it comes up with a message saying 'This document contains Adobe Photoshop data which appears to be damaged. Continue and ignore the Photoshop data?' when I click ok it then says 'The embedded ICC profile cannot be used because the ICC profile descrition is invalid. Ignoring the profile'. When the image opens its completely flat and black. I've tries a few recovery programmes but that didn't seem to work. I found a temp file but I don't think it'ss a real temp file because it doesn't have an extension.

I used system repair because PS had a problem (crashed after file open) and reinstalling didn't help. This time I get an error starting PS CS3.The error message is: The licensing subsystem has failed catastrophically. You must reinstall or call customer support. If I want to reinstall from the cd, its starts fine, but doens't do anything.If I start the setup from the cd, it does nothing.I tried windows - software - remove/reinstall, but also nothing happens.
