View 4 RepliesI am somewhat new to PSE 10 and would like to know how to delete portion of a background--buildings that are somewhat blurred. Also, how to add clouds to that respective space?
I spent 2+ hours trying to find the instruction, but finally gave up.
I saved a file as PSD ,then delete all the layers and was doing another stuff on the sheet( the reason I did this is because I wanted the same page size and was lazy to enter the size:| )after I finished, I saved the file to another name. but, I found that the first file that i saved manually , is replaced by an autosave file on my work procedure on the second file. I know this happend because I was working with the sama names, but is there any way that I can restore my first file that I saved to what I manually saved?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI had PSE 10 installed on my Windows 7 machine when my hard drive started to fail, rendering the OS unbootable. Luckily I have all of my pictures stored on an external RAID (5+1), but I'd like to get all of my catalog information back (albums, people tags, etc.). Is there a way to do that without having to start PSE and run a backup (since that's not really feasible). There are two pieces of information that I hope will make this possible:
1) I have a backup of my c:Users directory on an external drive
2) I have successfully attached my old hard drive to a different machine where I can access most of the files on the drive (although some are corrupt).
I guess what I really need to know is what files I need to copy in order to preserve this data.
I deleted a catalog accidently - can I recover it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am currently testing Lightroom on my computer and found a lot of useful features.
1. Does Lightroom have a function against accidentally deleting of files or pictures?
2. What about synchronisation? Can I use Lightroom on two computers, I mean when I work on the one computer, will all changes be available and visible on the other computer?
3. Can I use one catalogue on two or more drives in my computer?
4. Does Lightroom have a back-up function?
5. Can Lightroom recognize faces of people so that the software finds all photos of the same person?
I really love making icons on Photoshop. I know it would be better to do it in Illustrator but I don't have that yet, so I'm looking for help specifically in Phosohop.
If I have an image with say, for example three layers, and it's 100x100 pixels then I'll usually put a picture in there or whatever. What I want to know, and I've seen this done by other people, is how I delete a part of this picture completely?
What I mean is that if I have a picture up and I want to delete it so that when I post it on the internet I can see the background in that area. I've tried doing this but still I see nothing but the white background. I want to delete that area COMPLETELY.
Is anyone able to help me?
How do I reconnect missing files without deleting them from catalog?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using PSE 12. When I delete photos the program is moving automatically to the bottom or top of my catalog rather than staying in place. So if I am deleting photos 1000 - 1005 it will reload at the bottom or top of my catalog. This is a huge annoyance given I have 12K photos. Other times it simply freezes and crashes.

Everything appears to be gone BUT...there are these flowing blue items around the object. When I export the file to gif...those items are still attached to the object.
I have used photo shop and have not had any issue removing a background around an object.
I post a picture of the coins and needt to cut around edges... usually wand does get it all and it is time consuming to finish it..

I want to preserve the existing background color, I don't want it to become transparent.
Remove the text and the white background and fill it with its respective background ?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI seem to be having problems when I lasso round a specific part of a photo taken with a white background and then try to add that part of the image to a plain #000000 black background.
I always seem to get a white outline around the image when I place it on the black background, even when its on ZERO feathered. I don't like using feathered as it adds a smudge round the outside of the image.
I have some text documents in PDF format and would like to edit it in photoshop CS5, but each time I open them up in photoshop, the background seems to be transparent (tiny grey and white tiles), which is very eye tiring when editing/annotating with a wacom pen, how to fill the background total white?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently saw on TV that someone had 2 nearly identical images - one with just the background, another one from exactly the same point of view featuring an object before the background.
He was then able to subtract the background so only the object in front remained. Is that possible with Photoshop as well? I have version CS3.
I am using my CS2 on OSX and when I view the image in a full screen mode the color around the image is grey, well it used to be grey but it is blue now. How do I change it back to neutral grey?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently updated from LR3 to LR4. About halfway through my edit, LR crashed. Upon trying to open up the catalog that I was currently working on, it says that the file is corrupted and prompts me to a dialog box that asks to repair catalog, quit, etc.
I attempted to click to repair the catalog, however another error dialog box pops up saying that it cannot temporarily repair the file.
I've tried everything I could possibly think of, restarted the computer. Copied the raw files and catalog and tried to open it that way -- with no luck. I was editing away and then boom.. no longer have access.
My catalog is damaged after the power of my hard disk suddenly turned off.
I was importing my images to my catalog when the power was switched off. This caused an error in LR3.
And now I can't open the catalog anymore. I already created a new one and tried to import the damaged catalog into it but this didn't worked.
My images are still ok. All I want to recover are my tags and my collections as I had spent quick some into it.
I have raw files that have been imported and edited, but not saved as a catalog/collection. LR crashed & I had to un/reinstall LR (4.4). Can I recover those changes and reapply them to the raw files? If so, how?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was asked to cut out the background from a logo to make it transparent so the logo would look nice on a variety of backgrounds. I've been given a good quality jpeg file.
What I did was I selected (by colour) the background (white), inverted the selection, copied it and pasted as a new image.
It's all fine (the logo itself doesn't have any other elements) but there's still some whiteish/greyish outline around certain elements of the logo.
If I were to do it manually, it'd probably take ages. What would be the best way to accomplish it?
I have recently purchased Photoshop Elements 11, and I am having problems trying to make the background and foreground the same colour. I was taking photos of my granchildren in my friends studio and because of the lighting set up the bottom sheet looks grey against the perfect white background. I would like to make it all white
