I'm attempting clean up some JPG images of product for sale. I do not know the technical terms for what I am attempting to do. I wish to eliminate all of the background space. I wish for the file to display only the product as if floating in empty white space.
I am using Adobe Photoshop Limited Edition; I also may use Adobe Illustrator.
Photoshop is acting wonky now that i've installed windows 8. i had to upgrade my video drivers, amd radeon 5700 series. now when editing photos, the background goes black or transparent.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThought this was a Photoshop problem. When I select a portion of an image in Photoshop (which has come from Lightroom) and press Delete, it no longer brings up the Fill dialog; it just deletes the pixels.
After some discussion on the Photoshop forum, I see that now, when I tell Lightroom "Edit in Photoshop", it creates a file which does not have a Background layer, and this causes the Delete key to act differently. This was not the case several weeks ago, but has just started to happen. Is there any adjustment I can make to the "Edit In" settings to get a Background layer in Photoshop?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI can't find any preferences for changing the photo editing area background colour. I am not sure what it is called but what I am talking about is the space in the middle of the program where photos open up into (not the workspace option which changes the menu bar colours of which I am using the blue option.) At the moment the centre area is a charcoal colour. When I am editing a photo which is smaller than this space it is surrounded by this colour and it makes it hard for me to see the thin black border which I place around some photos. Can I change the colour of the editing area to white?

I'm working with PSE8 and OS X 10.9.1
I have a picture that I added people to from other pictures. Now I want to put this picture with the additions into a folder because I make calendars every year and wanted this picture in for the calendar. When I go into the picture and right click to try and make a copy the brushes and come up and tell me to pick a size and it looks like I am in the cloning and I cannot get out. I cannot see where I can click to say that I am finished with the editing.

My problem is in editing the 3d objects I have imported. These were imported in 3ds format and contain numerous different elements (over 50) within the same file. All are neatly to scale and positioned correctly in relation to one another.
I need to be able to edit these individual elements within photoshop and assign different materials. I can't seem to separate these individual objects onto different layers in order to work with them further. In addition, although I can scale or move the elements, I cannot delete them without deleting the whole layer.
I have tried looking at merge 3D layers but as I only have one layer it doesn't work. How can I assign these objects to different layers without importing each element separately into photoshop (and therefore losing their scale and position)?
I've just finished scanning thousands of photos, and I've placed them in about a dozen different folders. Now I'm looking to edit them one at a time. So I call up the Organizer and open up the Editor area to work on the first photo.
Is there some kind of "Next" command ... some quick way to move on to the second photo in the same folder, after I've finished editing the first?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was a user of Elements3 for a long time mainly because I liked that the catalog's "edit with" feature worked with Photoshop CS2. I recently got a new PC with Windows 7 so I could not install PSE 3. I downloaded PSE9 trial version to see if all worked well and it was worth the purchase. The problem I am having is that I cannot seem to get my Photoshop (CS2) as a supplementary editing option. When I try it tells me this
But if I don't add it like it says, there is not a Photoshop option when I go to the "edit with" list.
I don't know if this is right, but from the little bit of research I did it thinks I am trying to add Elements again because the Elements program exe file starts with "Photoshop" so when it reads the Photoshop.exe file it thinks it is a duplicate. I tried creating a copy and renaming the Photoshop.exe file which almost worked. Elements allowed me to select it as a supplementary editor and afterwards Photoshop was an edit option. I tried to edit a photo with it and while the program opened, it then got an error message and ended up closing before the photo came up for editing.
use Photoshop as my editor. I really liked how I could edit in PS and keep a neat catalog of edited versions with the Elements versioning capability. If I can't do it I probably won't end up purchasing the PSE9 program.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to Photoshop 10 from 3. Now, when I am editing a few days worth of pictures one after the other, I go to open the next file (picture) the computer takes me back to the top (first one listed) each time. Many times I am editing over 100 pictures in the file, and now have to scroll down each time and that takes forever. I have to remember what number picture I was on. In my earlier version, the compiter "held" the spot where I was so it was easy to select trhe next picture to edit.
