I use PE 7.0. Recently I am unable to crop photos when editing. The photo disappears, and I get a screen that asks me to reset. When I do that, I have lost all the other things I did in editing.
View 1 RepliesWhen opening my jpeg photos in Photoshop elements 9, once saved elements seems put the image in a format that my Apple Mac isn't compatible with. So when I then try and upload the images to Facebook or other software in a bulk upload the images are highlighted and I therefore can't select them and upload.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've recently upgraded to PSE 11 from PSE 10. Previously, when I click edit in iphoto, the photo that I want to edit automatically opens up in PSE 10 and I can do my edit rightaway.
However, the photo does not open up automatically in PSE 11 now. My computer will launch PSE 11 but I have to manually load the photo for editing. I've done the necessary settings in iphoto (i.e edit using external editor) but it's still not working like it used to.
Is this a change in feature in PSE 11.
I have successfully installed Photshop Elements on a Mac but cannot import photos to edit them. I get this message "Photoshop Elements does not recognise this type of file".

I go to tranform image size and the outline surrounding the photo only moves up/down or side-to-side. How do I get the outline to move at the corners so I can easily manipulate the size? Either way - FN, CTRL, Win or other buttons do nothing to enlarge photo to where I want to set it. How can I accomplish this - any experts on touchpad conversion to number keypads out there? View 1 Replies View RelatedI have several hundred small portrait photos of different size that I need to resize to a 120 x 120 pixels size. Currently they are not 1:1. I've previously used Picasa to resize images manually, and this gives me the opportunity of easily crop and resize so that the face is not cut or looks too small. But I need to do this in a batch since I have a huge amount of pictures. So far I haven't been able to figure out if Photoshop can detect the face automatically and crop/resize around it. The batch processes I have tried to create end up with the face/head being cut on several pictures.

I have started learning about editing photos , I want to edit photos for printing only. Therefore I need to know about resizing , however, I have spent weeks , reading and watching videos about this , and they all speak the same editing language without being specifically about what is needed, I mean the rules to follow etc and process that is involved.
For example,of this, resolution and pixel ,dots per inch,they all mention of the name of them, and mention "put photos in a number of of 200 ppi," without given any detailed explanation about why this is so!, when there are so many other numbers from the same category. In order to resize a photo there is needs to be more specific information that is needed about it when photo editing is involved, 'custom' resize photos.
I installed creative cloud, then photoshop... which both are installed... but where do I open photoshop at to begin editing my photos?

I want to create a flat image of the tattoo around my wrist. It seems as soon as i place a photo in Photoshop I cant do anything like that with it. I tried using different layers to place the different photos in, but when I crop one, it crops the entire image.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm starting to get serious about photography. I've shot a batch of photos that need manual processing. There are a couple of steps where I should be able to save one or two keystrokes every time. This may sound minor, but when I have to do it time after time after time, it gets annoying. This is not intended to be a rant, but rather a request for info about changing defaults to speed things up for me.
I'm running Gimp 2.6.11 on Gentoo linux (64-bit). I've looked at "Edit ==> Preferences", but can't seem to find what I'm looking for there.
1) I need to crop photos, but the manual "crop tool" is not the best fit. I prefer to use "Image ==> Canvas Size". My problem is that the Width+Height aspect ratio defaults to staying constant. I.e. if I crop the X size, the Y size changes proportionally. I do NOT want that. I have to manually click on the link to break the linkage. Sometimes I forget, which can get really annoying, when cropping in one dimension crops the other as well. How can I change the default to not link the X+Y sizes?
2) Saving stuff to PNG
*) After having done any cropping, I obviously want to save my work. Saving to PNG pops up a dialog about "Your image should be exported before it can be saved... Is there any way to get the PNG save routine to just do it, rather than popping up a dialogue?
*) If I'm saving to a new PNG file, I get YET ANOTHER DIALOGUE with settings for compression/interlacing/etc/etc. I never change the default settings, so this is another extra annoyance to me. How can I get the "save as" command to "just do it"?
I have been trying to crop a photo in paint.net Actually I have two photos and need to cut them apart. I also have photos on my camera which I can put onto my computer but not sure how to get them into paint.net

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have taken 500 photos (in highest resolution, JPG, each ~5 MBytes) and want to crop them individually. With fewer ones I opened eg 30 at once, made my changes (eg cropping) and exported/saved these images via an action. But this method -- esp. opening the files -- took some time even on a "faster" computer, 16 GB RAM.Now the idea (or wish ):
1st step: decrease the dimensions of the images (maybe 840 x 540)
2nd: opening eg 60 at once (much faster...)
3rd: editing/cropping picture by picture
and in the last step: let PS do these changes on the original / high resolution images automatically..Are there plugins or other methods (or programs) for doing this?
Few years ago I tried programs like URL.....But the handling for selecting the area to be cropped was not very comfortable as it is in PS
Photoshop is acting wonky now that i've installed windows 8. i had to upgrade my video drivers, amd radeon 5700 series. now when editing photos, the background goes black or transparent.
