Photoshop Elements :: Uninstalling And Reinstalling PSE10?
Nov 10, 2012
I upraded elements 10 online. I need to uninstall it (as I keep getting message that its incomplete or missing some elements, as shown in screen shots) and then reinstall but since I don't have a disc can I do that? How do I go about this?
After uninstalling and reinstalling my printer driver I am no longer able to print a document I used to be able to print on the same printer.
Now I get "The saved printer information is not compatible with this version of Photoshop Elements, or the saved printer is no longer available. You will need to check your printer settings before printing."
I have confirmed the my settings are correct and I am able to print to the printer using other applications.
I downloaded some trial plugins and then removed them and ever since, CS5 is not working well. Sometimes when I open it and go to file open to open an image, everything is grayed out and I have to close down and re-launch. When I open an image and want to look at the file info, everything freezes and I have to use task manager to close down Photoshop.
As well, my bridge is not working correctly. I want to uninstall and then reinstall, but I thought that somewhere that I read there are specific ways to do that or else the program thinks you're trying to load it on another computer..?
I bought Photoshop CS4 about a year and a half ago and it worked on my old Macbook (10.5.8) absolutely fine. I recently upgraded to a Macbook Pro (Lion 10.7.3) and now Photoshop crashes about every ten minutes for no apparent reason. By "crashes" I mean that the spinning wait cursor appears and I am forced to use force quit as Photoshop is no longer responding.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, turned off automatic graphics switching and nothing seems to work.
When I got my Wacom tablet, it came with a copy of Photoshop Elements 3. I installed it and all was good. Then my laptop's motherboard broke (the manufacturer refused to fix it because the laptop was no longer under warranty and there had been a "silent recall" on the motherboards, but that is all trivial matter here), so I was left with a "homeless" hard drive I could use as a backup for all of my files. Photoshop Elements 3 is still installed on that hard drive and, because of this, I cannot install it on my new laptop using the serial number provided on the install disk.
If I reformat my old hard drive, will I be able to install Elements on my new laptop using the same old serial? If not, is there a way at all to uninstall or at least de-register/de-activate Elements on the old hard drive so I can install it on the new laptop?
I've been using the same computer for 7 years and have had many and struggles reinstalling the operating system and all my software from time to time. Today, the struggle is with reinstalling Photoshop CS4.
- I just installed Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 3.
- I reinstalled Photoshop CS4 but every time at launch it says: ...
My photos are printing out much darker than what is on the monitor display. I have calibrated the monitor and changed the color profile, color management & color space numerous times and they I cannot see any difference in the prints. I've changed the printer settings, still too dark. I have edited the photos and brightened them, still much darker than on the display. I'm using Photoshop Elements 10 with a new monitor and computer. My old computer and Adobe Photoshop CS2 program did not have this problem.
Is Photoshop Elements 10 compatible with the new Windows 8 operating system? Microsoft now has an inexpensive Windows 8 upgrade path for laptop and desktop running Windows operating systems.
Will start using lasso tool and then the picture will flicker and the lassoo tool will not function to continue with the selection. Has worked ok in the past but not now. Have tried reset tool but did"t work out problem. Why the flicker of the picture as this through the alignment of the lassoo off and you cannot continue with the outline.
I have created my photography logo using a stamp in Elements 10. I create it and then hit define stamp. I can close out Elements and open it back up and its still there. However, the moment I have to use a different brush, I lose the stamp I created.
I installed Photoshop Elements 10 on my new iMac (previously installed on my older imac). After installing the software and launching the organizer, it asked me to index my photos. Custom reindexing 11000 plus photos is not a pleasant thought. How do I find my old index, either on my new mac or on my time machine backup?
I have Photoshop Elements 10 on my Mac and my PC. I have several catalogs on an external harddrive with older photos. I have tried to get my Elements on my Mac to read those catologs. However, it gives me a message that the catologs are in a older format and need to be upgraded or damaged and need to be repaired. I ran the repair utiity on the catologs using Elements on my PC and it found nothing wrong. My PC version can open the files without any issues. Both versions of Elements are the exact same. I installed them both the same day from the same CD set (Elements 10 came with both PC and Mac versions).
NB: I'm using the word 'register' in the printer's sense, i.e 'correctly aligned'.
I frequently edit multi-layered maps, in which each layer must be precisely registered (to the exact pixel) with the canvas. In older versions of PSE, when I've wanted to import layers from another file, I would turn off 'Maximise' mode in the Window menu, and drag the imported layers from one image onto the other. By pressing the SHIFT key at the same time, the new layers would be precisely registered on the new canvas in the same relative position they were on the old canvas (if the images were different sizes, the old canvas would be centred on the new one).
In PSE10 there is no 'Maximise'mode, so I use the 2-up option in the Arrange menu. However, pressing the SHIFT key doesn't seem to work any more, and the new layers don't come up in their original position. Apart from manually lining up the layers, I can't find a way to register them. The various 'Align' options aren't useful for this, as they re-calculate the centre of the layer based on its content. I need the layer to be aligned as it was on the old canvas, whatever the content of the layer.
I'm using Adobe Photoshop Elements Version 10 and I cannot print anything either directly from it, or even anything created out of it to my HP Officejet 5610 series printer. I am not having the same issue that others have reported with the Fax Window coming up, nothing prints at all. It doesn't even go into the Print Queue. I have been discussing (on a forum) with HP and they have suggested using the Deskjet 990C driver. I tried that and still nothing happens. I can print to a Canon Pixma with no issue, it's definitely something with this printer/print driver. I tried renaming the printer to make it shorter, I have tried completely deleting and reinstalling the printer (using HP Cleanup utility), I have updated drivers, tried using the 5610 as well as the 450C and 990C.
This is happening directly out of PSE as well as anything I create and save - so making it a PDF, it won't print. Making it a JPG, it won't print. I can print PDF files not created in PSE with no issue. I can print JPGs not created by PSE with no issue.
Today i went to copy and then paste an image onto another one,i could not use the copy or paste function(in pse 10). Only the paste function was usable and when i hit it it pasted the picture of an eagle onto the image. This eagle i had copied from a particular website(unrelated to photoshop) amd pasted it to a folder in windows live photo gallery. I tried deleting this eagle from the windows gallery, but still i could paste the eagle onto the other picture. And it created another layer with the picture of the eagle. Also as usual my lassoo tool is malfunctioning in pse 10? Maybe uninstalling and re-installing pse 10 would solve the problem.
I just added a SSD drive to my computer and reloaded all software including Windows 7 and Photoshop Elements 11 onto this new system drive. I did not make a separate backup of the Organizer Catalog beforehand, however the catalog is stil on the hard drive, now to be used as a data drive. How can I recover this catalog?
I have several images in my project bin, then use the Arrange icon to divide the workspace into "2 up."
There are now two images side by side.
Over the left one are several tabs, although not one for every image (they don't all fit).
Over the right one is a single tab, with the name of the open image.
How do I change which image is shown on the right?
I can change the left one by selecting the left image then double-clicking on the image I want in the project bin.If I try the same on the right, the image I double-click on goes into the left side of the window.I can't pick from tabs, because there aren't any (other than the currently open one) over the right window.
I am using PSE10 with Windows 7. I've looked at the on-line documentation and tutorials, and they don't go into details about controlling the division of the windows.
take jpg + RAW pics with my DSLR, for the most part the jpgs come out fine but now and again I like to tinker with the RAW's. So I like to keep both incase I'm inclined to tinker in the future.
To keep my photo catalogue looking neat and tidy I stack the jpg and RAW so only the single image shows. I can obviously select both images and the select stack, or I can select a whole load of images and select auto stack which then suggests stacks based on photo likeness. This is OK sometimes, but often many images are of the same subject and I don't want 10 stacked, just the 2 same files in jpg + RAW. Is there a way to automatically stack the same file number jpg + RAW?
PSE 10 & Lightroom 5...I import my photos to PSE10 organizer & use the editor for some corrections. I purchased Lightroom 5 because of its ease of exposure correction. I Imported the PSE 10 catalog to LR and make the exposure corrections. How do I get the corrections back to PSE?
I switched from Photoshop Elements 7 to Photoshop Elements 10. I cannot get a print of a photo that matches the screen. Photos are dark and red. I cannot edit the photos because I do not know what will print out. I have switched back to Photoshop 7 and my photos print fine, just as they have been edited.
