I switched from Photoshop Elements 7 to Photoshop Elements 10. I cannot get a print of a photo that matches the screen. Photos are dark and red. I cannot edit the photos because I do not know what will print out. I have switched back to Photoshop 7 and my photos print fine, just as they have been edited.

I have calibrated the monitor and changed the color profile, color management & color space numerous times and they I cannot see any difference in the prints. I've changed the printer settings, still too dark. I have edited the photos and brightened them, still much darker than on the display. I'm using Photoshop Elements 10 with a new monitor and computer. My old computer and Adobe Photoshop CS2 program did not have this problem.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using Adobe Photoshop Elements Version 10 and I cannot print anything either directly from it, or even anything created out of it to my HP Officejet 5610 series printer. I am not having the same issue that others have reported with the Fax Window coming up, nothing prints at all. It doesn't even go into the Print Queue. I have been discussing (on a forum) with HP and they have suggested using the Deskjet 990C driver. I tried that and still nothing happens. I can print to a Canon Pixma with no issue, it's definitely something with this printer/print driver. I tried renaming the printer to make it shorter, I have tried completely deleting and reinstalling the printer (using HP Cleanup utility), I have updated drivers, tried using the 5610 as well as the 450C and 990C.
This is happening directly out of PSE as well as anything I create and save - so making it a PDF, it won't print. Making it a JPG, it won't print. I can print PDF files not created in PSE with no issue. I can print JPGs not created by PSE with no issue.
I am having problems getting my final prints to match the screen view. Most recently I have had this problem: I have an image that is sized to 5X7. I have it on a 5X7 template in the print module of Lightroom. The image dimensions in Lightroom say 5X7. I print on 5X7 paper (I actually measured it to be sure). ON the screen they look perfect, match the the templates and measure out fime with the onscreen rulers. Without fail a portion of the print is cut off on the final print. The long side of the print is the most effected. This is not just limited to 5X7's, it happens across the board. Is this a common problem or I am I doing something wrong? In the 5X7 example above the print comes out 5.2 X 7.3 give or take. I am using Lightroom 5.3 on an iMac running OS 10.9.1. The printer is a Canon Pro 100.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Elements 7 on my new Win 8 computer. I also downloaded a 7.03 patch from Adobe site. When the program is launched, and then sitting idle, the mouse pointer jumps around on the screen, and the "working" blue circle appears also. This happens constantly and consistently about every second. I do not have this happen with any other program.
I was having similar issues with Elements and Win 7, and XP, and Win 98 for that matter.
When starting Photoshop Elements 8 Editor in Windows 7, the screen turns grey and my computer crashes. I tried reinstalling Elements 8 twice.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I am working on this document and it has silver background. I go to print preview (Photoshop cs3 and cs4 on Vista) and I get color looking more like bronze looking but when I do print, it comes out just like it should (in working mode which is Monitor RGB with Proof colors checked).
This setting is the only one I've used to make sure image/psd looks exactly like what it should when printing. I tried the default Working CMYK with and without Proof colors but it's still showing me the bronze look instead of silver. I've looked on the net and no exact easy fix for this was found. I really really appreciate any help.
Another simple question is regarding size. I'm working on a document size of 17.5 x 8.7 inches and the actual Banners will be printed at size 175 x 87 inches (5 banners each at 35inch wide but combined into a big one). So essentially, I'm working at 10% the size of what the final print will be and my file size is 760mgs. You can only imagine how big the file would be if I work on the actual size.

View 4 Replies View RelatedHaving used both CS2 and CS3 I now realise that the prints that I work on in either appear much brighter on the screen that they do when printed, as much as 3 stops darker when printed. I have also noticed that in other programs such as Google Picasa that I use as a viewing tool the images appear closer to the images from the printer. I have used various pro-labs that require their profiles to be used and my own epson 3800 printer at home and despite trying lots of different settings I am unable to get prints that look like they do on the screen they are always darker.
I am using windows XP on a dual core 2.4 PC with 2 Gb ram and an ATI Radeon X1600 series grafix card which I have just updated the driver on. The monitor is an LCD type and is calibrated weekly using a spyder 2 express.
I have Photoshop Elements 10 on my Mac and my PC. I have several catalogs on an external harddrive with older photos. I have tried to get my Elements on my Mac to read those catologs. However, it gives me a message that the catologs are in a older format and need to be upgraded or damaged and need to be repaired. I ran the repair utiity on the catologs using Elements on my PC and it found nothing wrong. My PC version can open the files without any issues. Both versions of Elements are the exact same. I installed them both the same day from the same CD set (Elements 10 came with both PC and Mac versions).

View 1 Replies View RelatedNB: I'm using the word 'register' in the printer's sense, i.e 'correctly aligned'.
I frequently edit multi-layered maps, in which each layer must be precisely registered (to the exact pixel) with the canvas. In older versions of PSE, when I've wanted to import layers from another file, I would turn off 'Maximise' mode in the Window menu, and drag the imported layers from one image onto the other. By pressing the SHIFT key at the same time, the new layers would be precisely registered on the new canvas in the same relative position they were on the old canvas (if the images were different sizes, the old canvas would be centred on the new one).
In PSE10 there is no 'Maximise'mode, so I use the 2-up option in the Arrange menu. However, pressing the SHIFT key doesn't seem to work any more, and the new layers don't come up in their original position. Apart from manually lining up the layers, I can't find a way to register them. The various 'Align' options aren't useful for this, as they re-calculate the centre of the layer based on its content. I need the layer to be aligned as it was on the old canvas, whatever the content of the layer.
Moved some catalog keywords but do not know where. How can I locate them. I know their names from below each photo.
View 2 Replies View RelatedToday i went to copy and then paste an image onto another one,i could not use the copy or paste function(in pse 10). Only the paste function was usable and when i hit it it pasted the picture of an eagle onto the image. This eagle i had copied from a particular website(unrelated to photoshop) amd pasted it to a folder in windows live photo gallery. I tried deleting this eagle from the windows gallery,but still i could paste the eagle onto the other picture. And it created another layer with the picture of the eagle. Also as usual my lassoo tool is malfunctioning in pse 10? Maybe uninstalling and re-installing pse 10 would solve the problem.

just switched to a mac and latest version of ps cs6 and my prints are not color correct [very muted colors on the print] It is definitely not the printer [prints perfect from otherc applications]
I have tried many of the settings / color management options, but none seem to do the job. Right now I have it set on 'photoshop manages color' and then for printer profile my printer type with correct paper.
I don't know what to do- share their knowledge on color management/printing
I have several images in my project bin, then use the Arrange icon to divide the workspace into "2 up."
There are now two images side by side.
Over the left one are several tabs, although not one for every image (they don't all fit).
Over the right one is a single tab, with the name of the open image.
How do I change which image is shown on the right?
I can change the left one by selecting the left image then double-clicking on the image I want in the project bin.If I try the same on the right, the image I double-click on goes into the left side of the window.I can't pick from tabs, because there aren't any (other than the currently open one) over the right window.
I am using PSE10 with Windows 7. I've looked at the on-line documentation and tutorials, and they don't go into details about controlling the division of the windows.
