I work with lightroom 4.1. When I import my pictures on the normal way. The import will nog finish anymore. After a long time my mac give a notice that he can/copy import the images. but there is a lot of space.
View 2 RepliesI'm installing my lightroom again on my new PC, Lr 1, upgrade LR2, upgrade LR 3, but after installation only the LR 1 is working fine, the other two upgrades won't import pictures/files and won't show them in the program, only the picture setting like 1/2000 F8.
View 7 Replies View RelatedAs I've been adding photos to my catalog from my iMac's internal hard drive, I've asked LR 5 to import them while "MOVING" them. Not "Copy as DNG", but MOVE. The Move feature simply makes a copy of them and leaves the files still on my hard drive. Why? This didn't happen in earlier LR editions.

When I import, it gives me a message box saying "Some import operations were not performed", then lists all the files under "could not copy file to the requested location", and offers me a link to "save as"

I recently had my HD replaced with a SSD, and still using the HD as a secondary drive on which I have my catalogue.
I'm on a Mac with Lightroom 5.3 freshly installed. It worked neatly for a couple of days when importing either from my iPhone or my 6D (from the card reader). Suddenly it stopped doing that. I've been through all the discussions and I've tried the following steps:
- delete the preference file (and re-start Lightroom)
- re-install Lightroom
- create a new catalogue (won't work either)
- checked the permissions (as in the beginning, it would tell me that it can't read my files - but they worked perfectly!), which were fine
- cleared the "recently used" file paths of the import dialogue
- re-booted my Mac about a gazillion times
- updated the RAW software
- re-installed Lightroom again (but having deleted pretty much everything from the HD that was Lightroom related)
It just won't work. But before I re-installed Lightroom, it would still give me the "error: can't read files" sign. Now, it simply starts importing (the progress bar starts anyway) and then it just stops at one point, not having imported anything. Lightroom doesn't freeze, it just doesn't do anything and the progress bar stops. I wanted to attach a screenshot to show you what it looks like right now, but that didn't work either, so whatever.
Here's the thing: it still works in Lightroom 4. So now I've been importing into Lightroom 4 and adding the files without moving them to Lightroom 5. But what kind of workflow is that? It's literally killing me because I've paid money for the software and I was patient enough to go over all the trouble shooting, but I'm really out of wit.
I´m working with LR 4.3 for 3 month but since days the "correction" brush doesn´t work anymore. The overlay button is still active and the system reboot I tried more than once ;-). I miss this function and maybe one of you is able to prevent me from reinstalling.

I have tried to import from HDD and SD-Card reader, both end in the same problem. Import in a new katalog does not work either. No error message comes up and I have free storage space.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using LR4 with a Canon camera setup (Wind 7 Ultimate). I've got the auto import setting all configured with an incoming folder and destination. The app recognizes when an image is put in incoming folder and in fact it moves it to the destination folder. What is really annoying is that it leaves me at the import settings dialog and then I have to make all these choices as I would if I were manually importing.
Shouldn't the images be places in the desination folder and some view of that image be displayed in LR? It could be the folder view or ideally I want to see the last image imported at 1:1 size so I can review it and see if I want to take another shot? Maybe there is some flag I've got set incorrectly.

When creating a catalog for travel with dynamic image rendering, if you want to add some pictures in this catalog it doesn't recognize the existing images, so we have the exact same selection between "all images' and "new images". I made a few tests and with a normal catalog there is no problems but apparently the dynamic images are not recognized as existing images.

It looks like the Pictures folder is locked. I can do everything if I move up the the "Myname" Folder. both version L4.4 and Imac are in French.

Since I'm using a Mac Computer and and iPad, I'd like to continue to USe iPhoto to share my pictures with the TV and other Apple products. Unfortunately I couldn't figure out a nice workflow - means how to import pictures in raw, work with them in Lightroom and than finally export as jpg and ideally import automatically into iPhoto. For quite a while now every once in a while when I start up I get a screen asking me to register. But since I already am registered Adobe just said to click on later and go on working. View 6 Replies View RelatedLightroom 3.6 has developed a strange problem ever since I tried to import seven pictures (canon RAW) directly from a CF card (rather than using Windows and then synchronising folders which is what I usually do). use of a CF card may be a red herring. Also, I’m using Windows 7 SP1.
To cut a long story short, if, in Lightroom Library, I now select “My pictures” (the top level folder) I can see all the folders and pictures that have previously been correctly catalogued and synced in Lightroom. I right click and select “Synchronize folder”. I would expect nothing to happen, because all folders have been synced, BUT, after a delay I get “Import new photos (644)”. There are no photos to import, and therefore, if I then let Lightroom try to import them, I get the error message “No photos were found to import”.
Every time I want to synchronise, I get the same problem.
I tried using a backup LRcat file. In this case the same thing happens, but it wants to import over 700 pictures. This would be partly correct as they will be about 100 genuine pictures to import due to the LRcat file genuinely missing some of my more recent photos.
Also, if I add a new folder and picture files in Windows and then open Lightroom to synchronise, it will want to import the 644 plus the correct number of new photos in the new folder. It then imports the genuine pictures. If I then try to resynchronise, I’m back to the 644 false ones.
This tells me that Lightroom has decided it needs to import 644 false pictures, plus any new genuine ones.
How can I get rid of the 644?

When I open previous artwork files, to maintain or update, one of my fonts disappeared. Coreldraw does recognize the font when I open the artwork file, but within the artwork the text in this paticular font is blank. It's called Trajan Pro. All my other softwares recognize it and I can use it, except in Corel. Not sure how to get this fixed, since I never had this problem before.
