I have a problem with LR3. After completing a video I go to Export Slide Show to Video. After rendering and encoding, the program stops at the last slide and does nothing. It means that I cannot use LR for videos or time lapse.
View 4 RepliesI had this problem before, thought I had cured it, but it has come back. At the end of a slideshow, I always add this slide.
Slideshow will hang up on export encoding the frame for this image, or the last one before it. Before when I had this problem, I had always stored it as a jpeg and just coppied it into the folder of images to be included in the slideshow. Thinking it must be a corrupted file of some sort, although it will open fine in CS5, I created a new image and stored it as a tiff. I then would open it in CS5, and 'save as' a new jpeg in the image folder. Now, no matter what I do, sometimes it will work fine, and sometimes it will hang up. LR 4.1 just sits there. No error message. Just will not complete the final frames. Very frustrating to wait an hour or more for it to create a slideshow and it hangs at the last image. I am on a Vista Home Premium machine.
I am on a Windows 7, 64-bit machine running Lightroom 5. I am having problems running certain Publish Services and also while trying to import from another catalog. On Publish Services - I am able to publish to a remote desktop but not to my own network. I have also been seeing issues with publishing to SmugMug (since before they updated their site).
Similarly, I am trying to merge some catalogs and when I import from another catalog, the process seems to hang about halfway through (I left it running all night long - the catalog is large but not THAT large!). The process did bring in what seems like most files so I wonder what I am missing.
Video will not play properly [audio plays well video hangs ] in Adobe Photoshop CS6 running on a Win7-64 machine equipment with a quad-core processor. Video plays properly in Lightroom 4 and Bridge CS6.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am using a Flip Slide HD video camera. After importing the videos into Corel VideoStudio, a video that should be 25 seconds long only plays 12 seconds of the video. The big issue is that the rest of the video is not there. It's almost like someone cut part of the video off. When I play the video on the camera and on my desktop with Quicktime, it plays the entire video. After I import the video, it is cut in half again.

Every time I click on video clips it tells me I have to go to Premiere to activate. Is there a simpler way? I usually don't go to Premiere until I want to burn a disc..I don't need to edit the video clips.

Video Post to Backburner network render hangs on next frame..I use Max’s Video Post to setup my render sequences to submit them to backburner. There are a couple issues with video post but not as bad as the one I have now. Each time I setup a render and submit it to backburner the first frame assigned to each system will render fine but then the servers get hung-up “waiting for frame” and consume ALL of the available RAM. Of course if I don’t do network render, the video post runs without a hitch. That of course defeats the purpose of having a render farm that video post SHOULD be able to use. And also, if I go through the ‘render’ dialog box, and do network rendering, I can get each series of frames done as well but it’s not as clean and orderly as with video post.
Oddly enough, in Max 2009, all of this worked just fine. Ever since they (autodesk) fixed (broke) backburner in 2012 video post has never been the same. Since I am a lowly low budget animator, video post was a bonus in 2009 for having everything in one bundle for mixing and matching multiple views and inputs with overlays for production. It was great! One could set it and forget it overnight and in the AM all that was left was compile the images to sequenced avi. Alas, that has been somewhat limited now in that you can only render the views that are active, so max of 4 views or cameras (if this has changed for others pls let me know). Annoying especially if you forget to have a single camera active and set the render and it then hangs on it… no visual error saying such and such is missing just dumb blank screen (sometimes).
Another oddity, after saving a video post layout, if I open that file on a secondary system for edits, the video post will have blanks for file outputs. I’ll then have to re-point the outputs to be able to use the limited video post functionality. A pain and can deal with it but still, the outputs are all on networked drives (all mapped to same drive letter etc) and ever if I direct it straight through the network they go blank; i.e. \serversharediretoryoutputs
I’m attaching a simple ‘teapot race’ max file that exhibits the same problem of the video post on render fails just in case it’s a file setup issue.Also find below the log file outputs of a system during the aforementioned hanging render sequence. , I was running the debug and the log shows max hanging on the ‘waiting for frame’ then eventually dumps the job, reloads, does 1 frame, then hangs again for 10-15mins.
I am trying to export a 15 minute film, with a LOT of audio clips to OMF for ProTools. The exporting "hangs" during the process when it encounters a certain file-name. The filename is gibberish, so I have not the slightest idea, which file it is, or where on the timeline I could look for it.
Another problem seem to be nested audio sequences can't be exported. Am I correct in assuming that I will have to replace every single clip by hand?
(Why is there no Python interface for Premiere... life would be SO much easier )

I use lightroom to edit the timelapses I shoot and it works brilliantly with the sync setting. But my problem is I use presets that call for the slideshow to move at 24 fps, 26fps, 30fps etc. and some of these time lapses contain over 300 photos and whenever I try to export the timelapse as a video from the slideshow module about an 8th of the way into the progress bar it stops and a message comes up that says "unknown error occurred" So my question would be: Is there a maximum number of slides you can have in a slideshow and is that what's causing this to happen?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWas able to trim and save 11 clips in new video files over 2-3 sessions, but then program hung after initiating 12th save. No duplicate file names, ie file already exsists. Computer show 100% CPU usage implying program has gone into loop. Have to use Window task mgr to end VideoStudio. When restarted VS indicates it is completing save started in previous session but creates empty file. Removing all Ulead files and folders I can find from computer left after uninstall, and all references I can find from registry, then reinstalling VideoStudio does not fix problem. I did not remove the video files in my user directory. There are no project files. Assume something remains on computer preventing clean reinstall and removal of bug.
View 8 Replies View RelatedRecently I have decided to give client viewings of their wedding photographs rather than an online gallery as I feel it's more personal and has better impact on a large TV screen with added music. I really like the simple LR interface and have gotten around the well known music feature issue by splicing tracks in Audacity.However, the last time I tried to use the 'export to video' function it took about an hour to create 25% of it (370 photos), so I had to abandon it and take the whole PC. This time I left plenty of time and it was running overnight, and yes, a lovely MPEG-4 is now sat in my video files.
I've just played it back and it seems to have lost all the timings that I meticulously spent hours perfecting. The 2.6 second duration I have set is much shorter and now all the slides don't fit with the music. I've been back to check settings when exporting and there are no options at all. Am I missing something or is export to video still in it's infancy?
I am using Lightroom 5 also to color grade some of my short videos as it seems to be pretty handy. Unfortunately, for some videos the export fails with the error that the hard drive does not contain rendered images. The screenshot below shows the error message in German.
As I was using the same options for many other videos before, I was wondering what causes this error. The hard drive where I have the lightroom catelog is an external USB3 hdd with lots of space left.
I am exporting a 2 hr movie as Apple Pro Res (LT). Last week this happened within 5 hrs but today the export is very slow. It renders about 20 frames and then stops, 20 more frames and then stop. This is very strange.

The Intro screen may be customized by editing the identity plate, but only to provide text on one line - not very useful. The Intro screen consists of the Identity Plate against the background created jointly with the Backdrop controls.
So, I thought this would be easily solved by creating a 'photo' in PS, with the text I require on a transparent background. Then import as another slide. Easy Peasy.
No, not quite, as Saving As... in PS as JPG does not work, TIF offers to save transparency but LR does not honour the promise. I tried GIF, but LR doesn't even 'see' GIFs.
I am sure that Adobe, in the 4.1-th generation of LR, will not have made this impossible....

View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter scanning a silde as a TIFF, when I import into the Lightroom library the file size is only about 1/6th the size of the file scanned onto my hard drive. A 50MB scan becomes an 8MB LR file. If I take the file into Photoshop it is still 50MB. I tried saving the photoshop file with a different name and then bringing into LR but it still ends up at 8MB. I get the same problem using both VueScan 9.0.90 and Silverfast 8.0 scanning software. How do I keep the original file size?

The lightroom slideshow module appears to only allow one picture or one video per screen. I would like to put everything within one folder (usually 4 pictures) on one screen.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI switched to lightroom 5. There is one change from 4, which I like to be undone and maybe there is a way to achive this via some setting. When I am in slide show mode with full screen the next and previous slide cannot be reached any longer by the left and right arrow. This used to be possible and it is very good if one wants to test a slide show without waiting for the next picture for 5 seconds (or whatever the delay is). It is also nice to have a quick possibility to have a look at the previous picture again.
Is there a way to reenable the arrow keys?
Image below shows 6 core usage during edit of an image using LR 4.2RC. Image import was running in the background. This only occurs when I use the develop module sliders (it doesn't matter which slider).
View 18 Replies View RelatedCanon 5d3with a fast CF card. I plug the camera into my Windows 7 laptop, fire up Lightroom 4.2, hit import, and all the new photos are tagged for import. I press import and 4 or 5 photos import and Lightroom just hangs without importing any others. The program shows as still responding in the Task Manager. I close the program, detach and reattach the camera and get another 4 or 5 photos. So if I have a bust day of shooting I have to go throgu this process many times to get of my photos imported.
View 4 Replies View RelatedImporting from SD card or from folder on hard drive, LR 1.4.1 hangs on import into an existing catalog. Sometimes it imports 1 picture, sometimes more, and then it hangs. Canceling the import does not work.
This is a Vista machine with plenty of horsepower and disk. I've re-installed LR, rebooted, etc. Importing into a brand new catalog works perfectly. Importing into another application works perfectly. The problem arose seemingly out of nowhere. Never had a problem, went out of town for a few days, returned with some pictures, and then no import into my existing catalog.
Ever since my copy of Lightroom updated from 4.3 to 4.4 I've had TERRIBLE trouble importing RAW files. After pressing "IMPORT" the program will hang (showing as "Not Responding" in the Window Top-bar and in Task Manager) for 90 minutes or more. This is to import just 4 or 5 files. I'm running on: Intel Core I5-2500k, 3.30Ghz, 16GB RAM, Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit...I never had this trouble with 4.3 and no other features of my set-up have changed except my Lightroom version.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI have been having problems with Lightroom 4.4 and importing photos from an external hard drive. I've worked with this configuration for years with no problem. I've been working with 4.4 since it was released as an RC, no issues. It started to be very slow to move into the import modual/function. Then it would hang every time and no sources for import would come up and the program would just stop and I'd get the "not responding" message. I thought it might be a corrupt catalog so I tried one of my backup catalogs, I tried different catalogs all together. I deleted the preference file and that seemed to be the beginning of the end for my current installation. When I tried to open Lightroom (via the catalog file) after deleteting the preference file it was like Lightroom couldn't/wouldn't rewrite the file and open. It would hang. Eventually I did get it to open up but I had to walk away and let it work on opening for a good 10 minutes. It finally came up but was too slow to work with. I gave up and decided to uninstall it and download and install again. It is still wonky and slow and will not import photos at all. I know it is difficult to diagnose something like this but I'm at my wits end. I've used Lightroom since the very beginning and I've come to be quite dependant on it. I just don't even know where to look to figure this out. I've browsed around for import problems but haven't found a whole lot of information or examples. Oh I should mention I tried creating a new empty catalog on my internal hard drive in case the problem somehow was with the external drive but that isn't the case. Actually I have catalogs on a few different external drives. It doesn't matter where the photos are, Lightroom is not happy at the moment. It barely responds to any input and crashes if I try to import photos. I also uninstalled and disabled my Carbonite because I know that can cause problems with some programs and I am desperate to get Lightroom going again.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI updated from LR 4.3 to LR 4.4 and now I can't start lightroom. It hangs at startup with the LR info tile displayed over the main window. This is on Windows 7 64 bit. Windows also has a hard time killing the app/process. Is it possible to safely downgrade to 4.3 ?
