AutoCAD .NET :: Dialog Response Time
Jul 14, 2011I have a dialog with lots graphic items and the response time for refreshing was very slow, sometime 2-3 seconds. I have re-wrote it so only certain parts update when they are needed,say when a value changes & this has worked, but there is still a very visible lag when re-freshing.
Basically I want to know if there is another less memory consuming process than re-fresh, or can you increase the available memory to the pallet, then dispose of it when completed? Another way I haven’t though of.

I'm publishing from the new LR 4.4 to Facebook. I create a new Collection in LR 4.4, enters a Album name and presses the Create button. I see that the Album is created Ok on my Facebook account Then I add some pictures, and executes 'Publish now' After a minute, I gets the message the the 'Upload failed and no returning string was received from Facebook'.
Lightroom :: How To Change Capture Time Of Multiple Photos To Specific Time

I know that there is "Edit Capture Time" feature under Metadata. But when I try to edit multiple photos, it says that "Modify the capture time stored in the selected photos by entering the correct time adjustment for the photo displayed to the left. Other photos (but not vidieos) will be adjusted by the same amount of time". And it really does.

For example,
If A file's capture time is 1/11/2011
B file's capture time is 1/11/2012
C file's capture time is 1/11/2013
I would like to change their capture time to 1/11/2014. All the three files.

But the current "Edit Capture Time" feature of Lightroom just adds three years to each file like this:

A file's capture time -> 1/11/2014
B file -> 1/11/2015
C file -> 1/11/2016
So their capture times remain as different ones. And this is not I want...

I've googled a lot and tried several programs other than lightroom as well, but the "Capture time" recognized by lightroom could not be changed by other programs.
Lightroom :: Update Date Time Digitized To Match An Updated Capture Time For A DNG File?
Mar 25, 2013I am updating capture time based on GPS Time (a bit OCD, I know) but when I change Capture Time the Date Time Digitized value does not change. This in in LR 4.3 and is not affected by whether on not the Catalog is set to 'Write date or time changes into proprietary raw files'.

Jul 27, 2013I have been trying to figure out if I can make capture time changes to adjust for time zone errors or the daylight saving time mistakes where the capture time in the Metadata panel is off by 1 hour or so, and then have these adjustments saved permanently to the original files (master photos). This works for JPEG files and it also works for DNG files (after converting from CR2 to DNG). But it doesn't seem to work for CR2 files directly. If I used the "Save Metadata to file" option from the Metadata menu I might just get sidecar XMP files.

Then I found this option "write date or time changes into proprietary raw files" in the Catalog Settings. This seems about right. But what does it do? I tried enabling that, created a new catalog and then imported some new CR2 files. I then changed the captured time and tried the Save Metadata to file option. It still spits out these sidecar files. It doesn't actually write this to the CR2 files.
Or does it? Perhaps I am not seeing it in Windows Explorer? Like IPTC vs. EXIF? I'm not sure Windows reads both. These are like different types or sections of metadata information about a file. So I just wonder what the benefit or consequence is of having this option enabled? Whatever it is, it is not very apparent. And as you can see from the screenshots above the capture time has not changed (not been saved) when you look at the file in Windows Explorer. Any changes are held in the XMP sidecar. Even thou I have enabled this EXIF option in Catalog Settings.

May 21, 2009I bought the upgrade to Photoshop CS4 (download version) two weeks ago or so. I installed and used with success...then today I happened to look at the Blue Panel that comes up when the program opens. I was surprised to see "Photoshop CS4 Extended" just below the large Ps at the top of that panel. Knowing that the "Extended" version is more expensive...I called customer service and spoke to a lady (sounded like she was from India) who asked me a number of questions, including my serial numbers. She told me I had the regular version, but only because the serial started with a 1045- and she said the extended version started with a 1033 or something like that. I asked her if the regular version had the word "Extrended" in the startup panel...she didn't seem to understand my question but reiterated that because of my serial number I had to have the regular version. Hence my post here...asking if others with the "regular CS4 version have the word "Extended" in the startup panel. I know it might be trival,

Jan 6, 2013I have a Canon S100 and just started importing photos and video into my LR 4.3 catalog. I convert RAW to DNG, and the Capture Time on the photos in LR is correct. However, the video Capture Time is shifted forward exactly 8 hours. I know how to correct the video Capture Time, but is there anything I can do to stop this from happening in the first place? I looked at what the metadata looks like in Bridge.

Date Created = Correct Capture Time
Date File Modified = The time I imported the file into LR.

Photoshop :: Haven't Received A Serial Number
Aug 21, 2009I've just bought a copy of PhotoShop CS4 student edition and requested my serial number on Tuesday afternoon. It's now Friday evening and I still haven't received a serial number. How long should it take? Other than opening another help request on the Adobe site is there a way to chase this up? I feel really annoyed after buying the software that I have to wait all this time to use it. It says on the box that I cannot install the software without the serial number - is this true? Will it not go into a trial mode until I get the serial number? If anyone can suggest a way for me to move forward I'd be grateful as I have some school projects I want to get finished and I need to use this software.

May 2, 2012I have CoreDraw X5 installed on my computer. A friend of mine e-mailed me a CorelDraw document she created. I am un able to open it. When I try to open it, CorelDraw opens but does not display the document. So the application is open and I see all the toolbars and everything but the space where I would see the document is grey. I have received CorelDraw documents by e-mail form other friends before without any problem, so it is not the e-mail that is the issue.

Paint Shop Pro :: Emailed JPG Photo Received As DAT File When Viewed On IPad
Nov 19, 2013I am using PSP Pro x6. I edit the photo and then send using the link in the program. MS Outllok pops up just fine and reflects that the ".jpg" file is attached. When the recipient gets the email (on their iPad) the file has turned into a ".dat" file. It is definitely a .jpg when I send it out.

Photoshop :: Selecting Different Animation Frames Gives No Response
Jul 18, 2012I draw images by hand and scan them into photoshop to touch them up with the wacom tablet. Often I'll want to take a piece of the drawing and rotate it, stretch it out, or move it. I select the piece, take the move tool (v) and do what I need to do. I then either press enter and move the piece, or I move it before pressing enter and applying the transformation.

Either way, what often happens is that the piece doesn't deselect, and I can't move it or alter it further in any way. After this happens, I also can't switch between layers, or I can, but what's on the canvas doesn't respond at all. I can still save, and select different tools in the program, but I can't work on anything. Also it might be relevant that I'm working with the frame animation window, and these drawings occupy layers that I'm using as animation frames. Selecting different animation frames also gives no response.

The only thing that works is to save what I'm working on and restart the program. Half the time this problem doesn't occur, but since I'm performing these actions a lot, it really slows me down. Photoshop works fine otherwise it's just this one thing that's bugging me.

Jul 31, 2013When I cut and paste, Autocad lags for up to 30 seconds before continuing to go back to the command prompt. This problem only happens after pasting, whether it is one line or multiple lines/objects. The quantity of data pasted makes no difference to the lag. Also, if it's a new file with nothing in the drawing the issue still happens. The scale list is purged along with the entire drawing, so even on a blank new file it happens?!
I am running autocad 2014 LT and migrated from 2010 recently, where the problem began. I don't have cutting and pasting problems in any other programs like photoshop either, so I have localised it to a cad being the issue.
Also I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but this doesn't fix the problem.
I'm running on intel core duo 2, 4gb ram and 64 bit operating windows system.

Nov 30, 2012I go to mk, connect my clip to a gmask , double click gmask to focus to that module. I switch to 2 viewport. The left is the schematic, the right is the F1 (front). First when i click the F1 viewport, i got no 'add' button for adding gmask. So i have to first go to view pulldown, just do some unecessary click there to refresh. Now after refreshing, i can see my 'add' button is showed up. But the second problem is : i can't immediately press that 'add' button, there's a lag about 5- 7 seconds before i can click that button.
Also i can switch from mk schematic to f1 or f4 quite fast, but sometime go from any of front/back/matte view back to the mk schematic, it will take 4-7 second even for simple/basic mk network/tree.
The problem won't appear when using single viewport.

Dec 5, 2013Been using PSP since X2 and never had any real problems, but I recently purchased and installed x6. It started giving me a problem I couldn't live with so I uninstalled and then reinstalled PSPX6 Ultimate. That didn't fix the problem tho.
My problem: when I click on minimize, maximize or close, nothing happens. Repeated clicks of maximize has more than once even closed the program altogether.
As I mentioned, re-installation did not fix it, although the first time I clicked maximize after re-installation it did work. Then it quit.

Photoshop :: Extremely Slow Print Dialog Response In CS4 (Windows 7 64bit)
Jan 3, 2012It's a Q6700, 4GB, 2TB drives, Epson R2880 running Windows 7, 64-bit. CS4 is very peppy, runs great, opens, closes, edits, NO PROBLEM.

UNTIL you decide to print. Once you hit the print selection it takes a MINIMUM of 40 seconds for the CS4 print dialog to appear. If you then hit the "page setup" button, it'll be at LEAST another 30 seconds before that appears. Once they're up, you can navigate around and make changes, but once you hit the print button on the dialog it'll be another 10-15 seconds before it responds and if you specify "Print Preview" it'll be at least another 30 seconds before you get the preview. Once it hits the printer, it prints fine. There haven't been any software or hardware changes in weeks, except the weekly MS updates that get installed.

I've tried large images, and small images in case there was something CS4 was doing. This process is this slow when printing a 4x6 greeting card or a 12 x 18 photograph.

What's interesting is this is a new phenomenon... It worked FINE up until sometime last week. Then suddenly, slow....... Concurrently, the print dialog STOPPED DISPLAYING INK LEVELS. The status monitor still displays them, but the printer dialog no longer does.

I've unloaded the printer and cleaned off every file I could find that appeared to be associated with an Epson print driver. Went to Epson and got the latest, Windows 7, 64-bit set of drivers and status monitor and installed that. No difference. Also tried a new USB cable AND switched it to the other USB port on the printer and on the PC. Nothing's made any difference......

If necessary, I can have her re-install CS4, but is there anything that should be done before we start clobbering major applications, or ever worse, the operating system?

I was so disappointed with the amazing slow response when trying to use the Mixer Brushes; fine when using small files, suitable for web, but when working with larger files intended for large printing, it was painful!! Have the people at Adobe sorted the problem out with CS6?Â
