I have one computer right now with Adobe photoshop on it. It says I have reached my activation limit but one of them I uninstalled and the other computer I no longer have, it died. What do I do?

The computer then locks up. The only recovery that I have found to work, is to reboot. I tried using the installation CD to A.Repair, B. Reinstall, C Uninstall followed by Install. None works
View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently I became aware that PhotoShop CS3 has a limit of activation / deactivation. I have always supported companies in fighting unauthorized use of software and in fact lost my job and was out of work for a year after refusing to pirate software for clients. This stand has cost me greatly in personal finance due to being out of work and it angers me to know of companies using software without a license. Even when I reported the issues it seems no action gets taken which I guess is due to the small sizes. Thankfully I now have a new job at a place that follows my belief of requiring licensed usage of software.
Being a network engineer I am always tinkering with my home computer and testing out new software. This means that I run betas, release candidates and even demos as a part of my profession. Consequently this has me needing to wipe out the hard drive from time to time. I always thought of the Adobe activation method as the best as it allowed one to deactivate the product prior to having a reload as the best way to go as it allowed the person to not have the hassles with reactivation. Also to keep within the license I have PhotoShop install on my office computer so that I may do work with web images from time to time. To ensure that nobody at the office uses my PhotoShop I have been deactivation it and removing the key.
It came in the retail box and the CD still had the seal on it. It looked very legit (not that it always means anything, I guess), but when I try to install it I get the message that an activation error was encountered.
Is this error a sign that I may have gotten bogus software? Is there a way I can verify if I have a legit copy or not?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought a legit copy o photoshopAlbeit I bouhgt it from ebay, but it is definitely legit - not pirated , but a mfr sealed professionally produced copy of CS3 extendedI popped it open and found what I expected the documentation the DVD case with the training video and the serial number on the back. I installed CS3 extended and plugged in my serial number and was greeted with a shiny green check mark (please note this is not just some generic photoshop liscence it is recognized by the software itself). Then I began the activation nightmare that I am currently having. I clicked activateActivate nowThen I got an error telling me to pease try activating by calling customer care.I did that I went through the automated system with m serial numberand activation key and then it said it was unable to process so I retried. Still no luck, then I got a live person on the phone. Here is what they told me:You do not have a valid serial number...Odd, I thought, since your software recognized it as a valid liscence. I tried it in several other photoshop programs only to be greeted by a red x (liscence invalid) so the serial number I have is legit for photoshop CS3 extended, it just won't activate. I tried to tell them that. I asked them what proof they needed from me barcode copy of serial number scan of packaging anything. They told me I needed the reciept from an authorized reseller. I'm afraid I didn't see in the liscence agreement where the agreement between provider and end user was limited by their distributorship. Thank you to me too for buyinga legitimate copy and not going with a free alternative (paint.net as been fine in the past thank you).So I continued the discussion until I finally asked for a supervisor who was slightly more willing to talk about a way we could resolve the activation problem. I am stuck getting the original reciept from the seller to prove to Adobe that their product was in fact original purchased from them. You have to be kidding???!!!?!?!It is unactivated so we aren't even talking about a liscence transfer this product is supposed to be registered to me. And that still doesn't answer the question of how the serial number is recognized by the software and installation (meaning the serial to DVD matches) and the customer service people claim it is not valid. I even asked them to tell me if it was a liscence used as a known pirated copy or something that should invalidate it, but all they can tell me is that it is not valid for the product. If that is the case why print it on the label and affix it to the software?On the other hand perhaps it is just a database error on their part. What if I bought it from london drugs and lost the reciept how woul they handle that.

I am running PS CS4 Win Vista.I have 3G RAM and have designated plenty of available space for scratch disks(298G on C:, 66G on J: and 231G on M:, the latter two being external HDs).
When I attempt to use some of the advanced features of CS 4, especially Content Aware Scaling, I get the insufficient RAM message every time without fail.
MY HD is regularly defragmented and I have purged, lowered the History states allowed, and cleaned out all temp files from IE.
Any deas how I can avoid the RAM message and use the features in CS4?
I up dated my cs3 today and now I get an error message: Could not complete_______because of a program error. Has anyone run across this before?

"The installation of this application is damaged. Try to re-install the application or contact the publisher"
I tried re-installing CS6 but am still getting the same error message, with a bouncing Adobe Air icon in my dock.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI installed a new drive (OWC Accelsior SSD) via PCIe in my 2009 MacPro then loaded 10.9 on the new drive. While I have regret about 10.9 due to the Colorflow bug, I had already done the upgrade on the old drive and stayed with 10.9
I then ran Migration Assistant to copy everything to the new drive.In addition, I ran Verify Disk on both the old and new drives via the Disk Utility and all was OK.After the migration, CS6 13.0.0 will not allow me to open a file from any internal or external drive. When I select File, Open the error message states, "Could not complete your request because of a program error".
When I select File, Open 2-3 times, I am able to open a file but only from the Desktop. After trying 10 File, Opens, from the Desktop with sucess, I tried selecting an external drive and immediatly get the program error message againI tried selecting internal sata drives, an external Raid 5 connected via eSata and a drive connected via USB3 but all produced the same error message.
So I installed CC. Unfortunately the same exact problem occurs.I noticed when I was installing CC that there was an update to CS6 13.0.0. But when I tried to update via the iCloud installer and also the download from the Adobe site ,the update failed with this message, "Errors encountered during installation (U44M1P7) I have found an inconvenient workaround that might offer a clue in that I am able to open any file from any drive if I drag it over the icon in the dock. That works for both CS6 and CC.
I'm trying to print Photoshop file that is 740000 pixels wide on roll paper on an Epson 4800. The file is a large Photoshop file format. It was created in CS4. When I try to make the print command, I get an error message saying Photoshop cannot print files wider than 32000 pixels. (Which seems unlikely to me)
I can not seem to get a simple yes or no answer to whether what I'm trying to do is possible. Upgrade to CS5 suggested, but I get exactly the same error message on CS5. I don't want to drop the resolution to solve this.
I get the error message when I try and print. I do custom printing for clients. I've tried turning off my computer and re-starting it, but that didn't work. Do I need to un-install CS5, and then re-install?
