I want to add a watermark to a photo which encompasses a progress time or finish time of a sports event. For example, if an event starts at 7.00 am, photos taken at 8.05 am, in the watermark I want to display 1:05 hr (or 65 mins).

View 3 Replies View RelatedIn V12, for the large Catalog that I have converted from V8: After closing in the PSE Editor the edit of a photo, the horizontal red bar with the text "Edit in Progress" takes typically much too much time to disappear from the PSE Organizer. I am seeing this problem wrhen using the large V12 PSE Catalog (around 70'000 cataloged folto files, including the multiple versions within Version sets), that I have converted from PSE V8. With V12, typically for the jpeg photo Files that i have shot this year with my Nikon D5000, it takes around 16-18 seconds between
- the time where I complete within the Editor closing the edit
- and the time until the red bar disappears from the Organizer.With V8, this took only a couple of seconds.
I noticed that for my older photos shot in 2004 wih a Canon compact camera (and originally cataloged with PSE Version V3) , in V12 this is much faster: a couple of seconds (I will need to measure that more precisely), even though I use the same V12 PSE Catalog, the same PSE Preferences and the same Windows 7 based PC for the tests with the recent photos of my recent D5000 cameras and for the tests with the old photos of my old Canon compact camera.
I do not understand, why these timing differences between the photos shot with my modern NIKON D5000 and the photos shot with my old Canon compact camera. There is a difference in the file size (around 3.4 MB vs around 14.MB ); but I doubt whether this can be the explanation.
Also, I noticed that in "Information --> Metadata --> GPS" the Organizer sjows me for my Nikon D5000 photos (just) the following entry: GPS Version 2.2.0.0 (something that is not shown for the photos shot with my old Canon compact camera). Myself do not use GPS datza (at least: not concsiously). There are probably also other differences in the Metadata.
I remembder that many years ago, I was seeing similar long times for some activities (I do not fremember which ones). After some investigations, it turned out that the reason for these long times was a component that was trying to adccess rersouces that were not located on my PC but were instead located remotely on the Laptop of my wife (which was in the same Windows Home networjk)

I'm trying to change "capture time" of multiple photos to a specific time.
I know that there is "Edit Capture Time" feature under Metadata. But when I try to edit multiple photos, it says that "Modify the capture time stored in the selected photos by entering the correct time adjustment for the photo displayed to the left. Other photos (but not vidieos) will be adjusted by the same amount of time". And it really does.
For example,
If A file's capture time is 1/11/2011
B file's capture time is 1/11/2012
C file's capture time is 1/11/2013
I would like to change their capture time to 1/11/2014. All the three files.
But the current "Edit Capture Time" feature of Lightroom just adds three years to each file like this:
A file's capture time -> 1/11/2014
B file -> 1/11/2015
C file -> 1/11/2016
So their capture times remain as different ones. And this is not I want...
I've googled a lot and tried several programs other than lightroom as well, but the "Capture time" recognized by lightroom could not be changed by other programs.
I am updating capture time based on GPS Time (a bit OCD, I know) but when I change Capture Time the Date Time Digitized value does not change. This in in LR 4.3 and is not affected by whether on not the Catalog is set to 'Write date or time changes into proprietary raw files'.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to figure out if I can make capture time changes to adjust for time zone errors or the daylight saving time mistakes where the capture time in the Metadata panel is off by 1 hour or so, and then have these adjustments saved permanently to the original files (master photos). This works for JPEG files and it also works for DNG files (after converting from CR2 to DNG). But it doesn't seem to work for CR2 files directly. If I used the "Save Metadata to file" option from the Metadata menu I might just get sidecar XMP files.
Then I found this option "write date or time changes into proprietary raw files" in the Catalog Settings. This seems about right. But what does it do? I tried enabling that, created a new catalog and then imported some new CR2 files. I then changed the captured time and tried the Save Metadata to file option. It still spits out these sidecar files. It doesn't actually write this to the CR2 files.
Or does it? Perhaps I am not seeing it in Windows Explorer? Like IPTC vs. EXIF? I'm not sure Windows reads both. These are like different types or sections of metadata information about a file. So I just wonder what the benefit or consequence is of having this option enabled? Whatever it is, it is not very apparent. And as you can see from the screenshots above the capture time has not changed (not been saved) when you look at the file in Windows Explorer. Any changes are held in the XMP sidecar. Even thou I have enabled this EXIF option in Catalog Settings.
I have a Canon S100 and just started importing photos and video into my LR 4.3 catalog. I convert RAW to DNG, and the Capture Time on the photos in LR is correct. However, the video Capture Time is shifted forward exactly 8 hours. I know how to correct the video Capture Time, but is there anything I can do to stop this from happening in the first place? I looked at what the metadata looks like in Bridge.
PHOTO:
Date Created = Correct Capture Time
Date File Modified = The time I imported the file into LR.
VIDEO:
Date Created = Capture Time + 8 hours
Date File Modified = Correct Capture Time
Ok some times when I go to run details it pops up that it can not load the component database AecDtlComponents (US).mdb file. I go to options and can not do anything there. So I have to close it all down and hope when I reload AA it works. 9 out of 10 times it does. But this is a pain to do when ever you need to add detail stuff. Oh also this happens on more then one computer in the office. running 2012 with sp and all updates on windows 7
View 8 Replies View RelatedI note that from time to time I can't see the counter and this is quite an annoyance. When the invisible pointer hover over or passes over an object, the latter will highlight as usual. I have to close and restart the drawing each time due to this issue. Is there an explanation for it, even a solution to prevent this from happening?
NOTE : This is limited to the drawing area only. I can see the pointer in the menu/toolbar area and outside autocad but not in the drawing area.
How do I control time without using the Time Configuration Dialog box?
Also on a side note; what's the difference between the Dope Sheet and the Curve Editor?

The progress bar at the upper left of the screen appears briefly as though the changes are being made, but when going back to edit, again the capture time remains unchanged.
I notice that when viewing by rating (1, 2, 3, stars...) the program defaults to viewing the rating you choose and above. So, say I want to just see four star photos, it's showing me four and five star photos. Is there any way to set the rating function to only show those star rated photos I want to see?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen i import photos (using data data cable) into lightroom (4.1) from my Nikon D7000 (with latest firmware), the capture date/time appears in lightroom +3 hours as compare to original shot.
I usually organize photos date-wise in light room, so pic taken on 26-Jun @ 10pm will be shown under 27-Jun (with time 1am) in light room.
Computer date/time is +3 and accurate (OS: Win 7). Nikon D7000 also configured as +3 and date/time is accurate.
*Note:
- I am in Kuwait which is +3
- When i do the transfer by taking out memory card from camera and inserting it into the camera, it works as expected and i get the exact date/time in lightroom.
I'm running the latest version of LR on Mac OSX, shooting tethered.I'm product shooting, I need to shoot 1 shot from the front, then from above, 1 shot from the front, then from above, and so on, i'll have 2 cameras in position.
My question - can i tether both cameras into LR at the same time.
Is it possible to adjust the Capture Time by 5:30 or 5:45 hours? These are the Indian and Nepalese timezones. The Edit Capture TimeShift by set number of hours (time zone adjust) only allows adjusting by full hours and not fractions of hours.
It will be great to have this added to the newer versions of Lightroom as 5:30 and 5:45 are, together with other more exotic combinations, valid time zones.

At first Lightroom 4.4 seemed to skip certain photos when exporting and now I'm unable to export more than one image at the time. How can I fix this? I didn't seem to have this problem before the 4.4 update, but then again, the 4.4 update has been running for a few days now. I run on a 32bit Windows 7 with 4GB of RAM.
Lightroom has also been a considerable lot slower since the last couple of days, yet there have been no changes at all to my computer or system or anything - nothing's changed expect for the fact that Lightroom isn't behaving as it used to.
Will lightroom be able to put together a time-lapse, after I shoot it, or do I need to do in Elements 10, or another program?After I finish editing a photograph, I want to put only edited photographs in a new catalog.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have upgraded to LR4 from LR3, went through all the steps and created a new LR4 .lcat catalogue, but every time i re-open LR4 I get the prompt to upgrade the catalogue again as below:. I repeated the upgrade but same thing happens each time. Now, I am "choosing a different catlogue" and manually selecting the LR$ catalogue I created, I check the box to open this every time but it wont stick....
The LR4 shortcut wont stay in the Mac dock either...

I tried to edit the capture time on NEF files. I set -5 hours in "Metadata" > "Edit Capture Time", selected "Write date or time changes into proprietary raw files" and clicked "Save to Metadata" but the file does not change. There is just a new XMP file created, but i would like to edit this in raw files.
When I tried the above steps witha JPEG file everything works fine, but also when I try to change capture time on files, which exists in JPEG and NEF, neither the JPEG nor the NEF changes. Only the XMP.
It's the same problem like this, but even there is no answer:[URL].....

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have some old images which I have scanned and imported into lightroom. After imported, I went to "Metadata" > "Edit Capture Time" and I set the date and time correctly. Then, when I either export them or upload them to Flickr, I noticed the date/time I set with "Edit Capture Time" is not exported with the image. In Windows, if you right-click the image, select "Properties" then select the "Details" tab, the "Date Taken" field is missing. When I load the image into an EXIF editor, I see the image is missing the ExifDTOrig tag. This is a problem, especially when uploading to Flickr, since Flickr will then assume the upload date/time is when the picture was taken.
