I could export to e.g. GIF and compile in Microsoft Word but this loses the link to the original Illustrator file (so a hassle when I need to correct the original file).
better way or an inDesign alternative that works on Mac?
I need to use lots of individual blocks as one big block. The blocks are dynamic and I'm looking for a way they can act like one

View 9 Replies View RelatedSomething is strange with the constraint activity.
I'm using the constraints to assemble a project. I select the parts with the proper constraint, when "apply" is clicked the parts do not "pop" to location as they use to. I have to go up to "manage" the click "rebuild all" for the parts to move to new location.
Can’t extrude in assemble drawing in inventor when I draw a sketch and finish sketch
And try to extrude the sketch it extrudes but only in cut mode it is the only button that is working the rest are all faded out.
I am making an animation of how to assemble an outdoor fireplace system.
I have a mortar bag modeled that will be used to apply mortar to all the areas where different components are joined to each other.
I have figured out how to use a cylinder and pather deform to make the mortar come out of the bag.
After the first section of mortar is applied, how do I move the the mortar bag by iteself to the next area tha needs mortar?
There is an "attachment" position controller applied to the mortar bag which tied to the leading edge of my mortar bead.
I'm not sure how to disassociate the mortar bag with each line of mortar that gets put down and then let the mortar bag move around the scene to the next area.

What is the difference between Constrain and Assemble?
They both seem to create the same mating constraints, but Assemble doesn't work with adaptive parts.
Any other difference (other than the interface)?
I went through a bunch of tutorials on how to draft and assemble parts and when going through them step by step everything looks really neat and works well. Start with blank files and try creating something from scratch and that is when the laws of the universe no longer apply.
I am sure I am doing something wrong here but the problem is when logic and common sense no longer apply and each mouse click and drag is bound by some law that cannot be documented let alone repeated that is when I start getting lost.
My assembly is mainly comprised of pipes, clamps and pipe T-joints which are joined by rotational joints. I am sure this has to be a tricky assembly task since I have witnessed numerous times my assembly flying apart in every possible direction into a tangled mess from just trying to nudge one part.
For example -> Currently I have a part bound by a single rotational joint and I ground the pipe this joint is connected to. I have used this many times now to rotate parts relative to one another to prevent the arbitrary explode and re-arrange that occurs if you do not ground a part. Now all of a sudden when I try to rotate this part I get a circle with a cross through it beside the mouse pointer telling me that this will not happen. Why now? For a sanity check I went back to a previously saved file and the same scenario works. Why?
The best part of this software is the: "The assembly cannot be solved" dialog that pops up as soon as anything gets more complex than a single joint. This dialog fascinates me since after it pops up and I cancel it I will spend a half hour trying to ground parts and nudge the pieces closer together. Then I try the exact same joint and...... it WORKS! It blows my mind every time. So is there a internal timer that ensures you spend an appropriate amount of time screwing around before it will let you pass to the next level? If I can ground/nudge the two pieces I want to join in about a half hour why can't the software do this, maybe I am missing something but I thought this was the point for software like Inventor?
How I would try manipulate it if it was in front of me. I see a part that needs to be rotated so I try click and drag it into place, of course Inventor has no clue that the part I click on could possibly be the one I want to move so every piece not grounded will fly off into random directions.
I am struggling with a relatively simple exercise in inventor. I would like to assemble two pipe segments intersecting one another to form a pressure part nozzle, as shown below:
I cannot seem to find a relatively easy method of doing this. I've tried pipe & tube routing but it doesn't seem to have this functionality. Apart from actually modeling the nozzle to have the contour shown above, how would one achieve this easily?
Pipe & tube routing allows one to align these two segments of pipe, but it doesn't contour the nozzle pipe segment to the circumference of the pressure part segment.
I want to arrange these outer circles in a corcular pattern at equal distance and at equal angle from each other without using circular patten feature in assembly tab. How do I do that.
The reasomn I dont want to use circular pattern in assembly tab is if I do that then, I cannot change color of each outer circle separatly If I change one color it changes color for all of these whcih i dont want.
I want to have each outer circle of different color.
I am trying to assemble two parts together by the constraint feature, but the problem is that I mirrored one of the parts to make the other and now that I am trying to assemble them together they both light up showing that they are the same part. I am trying to make them to individual parts so that I can assemble them. Can I fix it in the Assembly or Part drawing?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am assembling multiples leds on a matrix that I made.
Is there any way to make the assembly using constrains to place the ipt LED design on the matrix without placing one by one?
The constrain I am using for each led is Insert.
There got to be a way to insert the leds directly, like when you are placing screws and it detects all holes and places the necessary number os screws on the existing holes.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am trying to assemble an extruded tube that has holes drilled, to a flat plate to be bolted together. when i go to assemble the parts the drilled holes will not highlight to attach the plate to.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a part with multiple holes created in a single hole feature (i.e. not patterned but made by selecting multiple sketch center points). As desired, the holes all have the same size since they all fit the same fastener. Is there a way to easily assemble fasteners to all the holes? Currently, I am using insert for each fastener and this gets tedius if there are many holes. Additinally, if the number of holes changes, a manual update is required. I'm hoping there is something that works similar to associative patterns.

Just installed Lightroom 4, more than 60000 images were imported. Many of them were duplicates, triplets and so on. I want to have a clean, unincombured library. Should I delete the 60000 images and reinstall the images from my photo digital cards or use the slow process of "X" out the unwanted images? I would like to start improving my images vs removing the unwanted images.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been having problems selecting images in the library module when multiple images are in view (not down in the timeline, but in the main window). It seems sporadic with which ones it won't let me select, it somehow manages to be the ones that I need to click....!! I just literally can't click it as if it were an image I already imported or something, but it's not grayed out like that. I've been having to select a nearby image then use my arrow keys to navigate to and click the image I need.
View 2 Replies View RelatedLightroom will not display preview images during import of raw images. Any images in other formats display fine but with raw images I get a gray window the size of the preview image and the words "preview unavailable for this file".
Running Windows XP 64, Lightroom 3.3.
In Lightroom 4.1 when rating (flags, stars or colors) a selected group of images all images selected will have the same flag applied. For instance if I select 10 images to view in the survey mode to compare and select 1 to be flagged as rejected all 10 will be flagged rejected, not just the one. Is there a way to turn this off to select a group of images and flag each differently?

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe histograms on the library panel and on the develop panel are not same for most of the images, there is a tiny difference between them. What is the reason for this difference?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've watched all of the tutorials and read all I can to get to the bottom of this to no avail. I understand that I need to use the foilders panel in the library module to move photos, my problem is that the folder module does not show any destination folders at all!
When I import my images I create a job and place the images in a subfolder named Raw Files eg. 2013 Jobs > 075 Robert and Jess E-Shoot > Raw Files
This way all of my images are in a folder that is job related. Occasionally, however, I will forget to change the import folder when importing the Raws, and the images for the next job will go into the Raw folder for the previous job. I'd like to be able to move the raw images to the correct folder, but in the folder panel the only path showing is the path I've imported to.
In the case above, my 2013 Jobs file should show 75 subfolders of individual jobs, but there is only one showing. I need to be able to see the destination folder in lightroom to move the Raws to their proper home. As I can't see the destination folder I can't move any files, and I end up having to try to work it out in the operating system.
how to get all of the subfolders to show?
Have folders on desktop, images are in them. In import module, LR says the folders are empty and I can not import them. I recently had hard disc problem, have new disc, latest version Mac OS, restored all images from backup LR sees images that were imported before the disc replacement but now won't see new folders.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a big collection of scanned photos many of which are in b&w. Unfortunately they have not all been tagged, so now I'm looking for an easy way of finding all my b&w images.
Can this be done in LR?
I have downloaded LR5 Upgrade onto my PC (Windows 7). The LR5 new features work. So far the program is working as expected, except that when an image is deleted using LR5, the image disappears from LR5 and appears in the recycle bin as it should, but it does not disappear from my Canon DPP program. LR3 is still on the computer and when an image was deleted using LR3, it always disappeared from both LR3 and Canon DPP. Why won't a deletion with LR5 take the image out of Canon DPP ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the preference set to keep 1:1 cache files for 30 days, and the max cache size is set to 30gb. The cache file has never yet approached this size. I've gone through the trouble of having LR work in the background to create previews for whole collections. After this process, performance is as snappy as I'd expect; images load immediately and there's no more than a one second lag when zooming in to 1:1. But hours or days later, on the same collections, when there has been no change made to the files, everything slows down. The wheels spin as LR loads each image preview, even at reduced fit-to-screen size. Processor utilization zooms to near 100% during these loads, so it seems LR is rendering the views all over again.
What happened to my cached previews?
Running a mac pro, 8 core xeon 2.8ghz, 18gb ram, 3tb 7200rpm data drive that's about 10% full.
The delay happens when in develop mode. In Library mode the pre-made previews are available and load instantly. Is this just the way things are?
