Lightroom :: Can't See Images In 5.2

Sep 28, 2013

Trying out Lightroom 5.2 for first time.  Installed without incident, 64 bit windows 7.  Imported 60 images from a folder and they all imported without a hitch, but I can't see them, all the squares are blank but the file meta data is there so they imported.

Lightroom :: Delete Duplicate Images And Install Images From Digital Photo Card

Mar 3, 2013

Just installed Lightroom 4, more than 60000 images were imported. Many of them were duplicates, triplets and so on. I want to have a clean, unincombured library. Should I delete the 60000 images and reinstall the images from my photo digital cards or use the slow process of "X" out the unwanted images? I would like to start improving my images vs removing the unwanted images.

Lightroom :: Selecting Images In Library Module When Multiple Images Are In View

Dec 3, 2012

I've been having problems selecting images in the library module when multiple images are in view (not down in the timeline, but in the main window). It seems sporadic with which ones it won't let me select, it somehow manages to be the ones that I need to click....!! I just literally can't click it as if it were an image I already imported or something, but it's not grayed out like that. I've been having to select a nearby image then use my arrow keys to navigate to and click the image I need.

Lightroom :: Rating Individual Images When Multiple Images Selected

Jul 18, 2012

In Lightroom 4.1 when rating (flags, stars or colors) a selected group of images all images selected will have the same flag applied. For instance if I select 10 images to view in the survey mode to compare and select 1 to be flagged as rejected all 10 will be flagged rejected, not just the one. Is there a way to turn this off to select a group of images and flag each differently?

Lightroom :: Can't Move Raw Images In 4

Nov 19, 2013

I've watched all of the tutorials and read all I can to get to the bottom of this to no avail. I understand that I need to use the foilders panel in the library module to move photos, my problem is that the folder module does not show any destination folders at all!

When I import my images I create a job and place the images in a subfolder named Raw Files eg.  2013 Jobs > 075 Robert and Jess E-Shoot > Raw Files

This way all of my images are in a folder that is job related. Occasionally, however, I will forget to change the import folder when importing the Raws, and the images for the next job will go into the Raw folder for the previous job. I'd like to be able to move the raw images to the correct folder, but in the folder panel the only path showing is the path I've imported to.

In the case above, my 2013 Jobs file should show 75 subfolders of individual jobs, but there is only one showing. I need to be able to see the destination folder in lightroom to move the Raws to their proper home. As I can't see the destination folder I can't move any files, and I end up having to try to work it out in the operating system.

how to get all of the subfolders to show?

Lightroom :: Deleting Images In 5?

Nov 17, 2013

I have downloaded LR5 Upgrade onto my PC (Windows 7). The LR5 new features work. So far the program is working as expected, except that when an image is deleted using LR5, the image disappears from LR5 and appears in the recycle bin as it should, but it does not disappear from my Canon DPP program.  LR3 is still on the computer and when an image was deleted using LR3, it always disappeared from both LR3 and Canon DPP.  Why won't a deletion with LR5 take the image out of Canon DPP ?

Lightroom :: 4.1 Seems To Not Keep 1:1 Cache Images

Sep 5, 2012

I have the preference set to keep 1:1 cache files for 30 days, and the max cache size is set to 30gb. The cache file has never yet approached this size. I've gone through the trouble of having LR work in the background to create previews for whole collections. After this process, performance is as snappy as I'd expect; images load immediately and there's no more than a one second lag when zooming in to 1:1. But hours or days later, on the same collections, when there has been no change made to the files, everything slows down. The wheels spin as LR loads each image preview, even at reduced fit-to-screen size. Processor utilization zooms to near 100% during these loads, so it seems LR is rendering the views all over again.

What happened to my cached previews?

Running a mac pro, 8 core xeon 2.8ghz, 18gb ram, 3tb 7200rpm data drive that's about 10% full.

The delay happens when in develop mode. In Library mode the pre-made previews are available and load instantly. Is this just the way things are?

Lightroom :: How To Geotag 73 Images

Aug 27, 2012

I'm trying to geotag 73 images. I have them highlighed and I search on the map for the required location (Galway Ireland). When I drag the images across the map, it changes to another location (Tipperary Ireland) with the marker showing "68". I have previously tagged some images in that location.

How to correct it. I have a deadline looming and time is ticking away while I struggling with the new technology!

It's not a long way to Tipperary from where I am - but it could be a long time before I geotag these images!

Lightroom :: 3.6 - How To Import Images As DNG

Jun 22, 2012

I really am utterly confused by LR.3.6

What I am doing is for every new set of images, say a wedding, I am setting up a new catalogue on the off board HD.

I then import the images as DNG's & that's after first off loading them as the original Nikon RAW files (I don't trust either LR or myself to get it right) onto another HD.

So, now I have 2x copies.

One original non-PP RAW files

One open in LR as DNG's which I then work upon.

Now, a few days later, I plug in the HD into my PC and Lo! File name is off line or missing.

This happens more often than not, so maybe 75% of my work flow is stymatised by having to work out what's happened or I have to start again on the PP.

At this point, I am trying to both open the .lrcat file either from within LR / File /  Open Recent or directly from the file on the offboard HD.

I can see the DNG's but LR seems unable to do so.

What error am I making?

I opened LR today and this time did not click ignore to the message of update to curent.  After the update I opened to the current catalog and my images were blurry.  I switched to a different catalog and same thing.  I selected an image I had not previously edited and it was fine.  I started to edit it and after the first adjustment it was not viewable.  I clicked to another image and then back.  It was viewable, but blurry.  To be clear, these are not blurry images, but update is causing them to be this way.

Lightroom :: 5.3 On Mac Won't Import New Images

Feb 24, 2014

I recently upgraded from Lightroom 4.x to 5.3, and I am now unable to import any new images. The import dialog allows me to select files, but once I press the import button (and this includes using "Add", "Copy", and "Copy as DNG"), nothing happens. I've left it 'transferring' overnight — nothing. I eventually cancel and a box pops up that says "No photos or videos were found to import.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling LR5 and working with a fresh catalog. No luck. I even deleted all the preference files and everything. Nothing. I'm about to be in a real bind if I can't import new work soon.
