Aug 6, 2013When I upgraded I did not have my back up disc connected . Many of my images in LR4 did not show up in LR5 .

Lightroom :: Options Lost On Upgrade Of Photoshop From CS5 To CS6
Jan 12, 2013I've hit since upgrading my Photoshop installation from CS5 to CS6 about a week ago. I'm using Lightroom 4.3 and all was fine when I had PS CS5 installed. Since installing CS6, however, Lightroom can no longer find my Photoshop installation and, as a result, all the Photoshop-specific "Edit In..." options offered by Lightroom ("Merge to panorama", "Open as Smart Object", "Open as layers", etc) are greyed out. I use these a lot and would really like to get them back but I can't see anything that lets me point Lightroom at my Photoshop installation other than adding it as a external editor (which doesn't reinstate these options).

Nov 27, 2011I just realized that I have lost all my titles and captions when I had upgraded to LR 3.5. I thought when I was moving my LR catalogues to my new computer, I might as well upgrade. Now I find out that not only have all the original file names been lost, or dropped (only my custom name&sequence.dng shows up, but now i realize that all the hours & hours of titling and captioning all my images in LR 2.6 is missing. Does this mean that I have to go all the way back to my last back-ups of LR 2.6? and then what?

Apr 23, 2013I can't import ANY images to LR 4.4 since upgrading my Mac OS to Mountain Lion 10.8.3 this past week. I downloaded LR5 Beta and all works well. I deleted LR5 Beta to see if it was conflicting with LR4.4 somehow and rebooted. Still no change. I can't import from my card reader (that says it can't even read the files) or from a location on my hard drive. The error message for importing is "Could not copy a file to requested location."

Apr 22, 2012When I used LR3.6 The Library option listed all my files on the left hand side under 'Folder' and showed a sub-folder for each year 2009-2012. I have now upgraded to LR4, and all I can see is 2011. During the install process of LR$ it asked me if I wanted to upgrade the process model, which I said yes and it did. Then, because I had read that 4.1 fixed a lot of issues, I downloaded and installed RC4.1 which I am running now.
How do I make LR4 show me all my Folders? I don't think I should be re-importing them all.

Jul 12, 2012I upgraded to 4.1 form 4. When I restarted I connected to my catalogue. I git a message asking if I wanted to convert images for 4.1. I said OK. Now I cannot see any images in the catalogue. The image information (ie, name of image and a blank space where image would be) are there.

Jan 17, 2013Our vacation pictures were on IPAD2. I accessed them and thought I was uploading them when I imported them to Lightroom3. I made panoramas and all in photoshop too. My husband asked if the images had been uploaded and I said yes. So he did synched and the update on the IPAD effectively erasing all those images. Now I find that these awesome images were not synched or imported to the computer, but just to lightroom thumbnails. Heartbroken! I can still see the thumbnails in Lightroom... My card has been formated twice since then. I don't think I can recover them there. Is it possible that there is a program that can recover those images to .jpgs from the thumbnails?

Recently I have been asked for certain images taken in 2011.
When searching for them I have discovered that the original capture information has been "gone missing / become lost".
For clarity, the information I'm referring to is the ACTUAL capture date and time of the original image as appears in the raw file metadata.
This data no longer appears on ANY of the subsequent version of any image taken in that year whether PSD or Jpeg.From checks already carried out, the data remains on the original RAW files.
All other years are OK.How can I transfer the date & time of the original image capture from the raw file to subsequents copies (PSD / Jpegs etc)? As literally hundreds of images are involved, is there a bulk routine that I can perform to synchronise this data?

Mar 1, 2012I moved images from my harddrive to an external drive.
I opened Lightroom.
Noticed there was a question mark by the photo folder I needed.
I synchronized the folders. Nada.
I rememebered I moved the images (first line ^^)
I re-imported the images from the external drive into Lightroom.
These images (other than one that was marked previously with a blue label) look completely untouched - completely original files - even though I spent hours working on them.
I am glad the images weren't deleted BUT re-doing 600 images will be a MAJOR FAIL if I can't figure out how to import the images with the settings / developments I did beforehand.
Photoshop :: Lost Images?
Dec 5, 2005Until I installed Aperture everything worked fine. I would alter an image, use Save As, specify the folder where it was to be saved and then select the type of image (jpeg, png etc). The image was always in the folder I specified. Now when I do the same thing I can't find the image. I use the Finder and it says the image in question is in the folder where I save it but it's not there.
Is there a PS setting that might have been altered when I did the install. That said, maybe the Aperture install had nothing to do with this and it's just a coincidence. Either way all my 'Save As' images are disappearing. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Part 2: Another anomality is that I used to be able to move images from the desktop to a folder. Now when I do that I am just moving a copy of the image and the original stays on the desktop. I did not change anything so how and where do I make the change to actually move the original, not just a copy?
Photoshop Elements :: How Long To Reconnect Lost Images In Organizer 11
Jun 9, 2013I seem to have made the mistake of moving several images around outside of Organizer and now they are lost - or disconnected. I've tried the Reconnect feature and after running for nearly an hour not a single image has been reconnected (I need to reconnect over 500!). I've tried to manually browse but where to look for them. I am a Mac user, and I do have these images backed up on an external drive.
How do I get my images back into Organizer??

Jan 31, 2014I've been using v3.6 on a windows 7 PC for about 2 years. I've recently upgraded to v5.3 on the PC and at the same time have installed v5.3 on my laptop also running windows 7. On the laptop using a few new images: the smart preview, exporting and web functions work fine. On the original PC which has my original catalog of c17K images these three functions do not work. As far as I can tell the association between the masters and the images in the library has not been lost. The library and develop functions in v5.3 are working on all the c17K images in the original catalog.I've set the Export dialogue box up using recommendations from answers I've gleaned form other discussions in the forum eg; making sure the 'do nothing' flag is active in the post processing section and reducing the quality of the JPEG image. Still when I export nothing happens.

Jul 12, 2013I installed my upgrade to LR5 last night but it keeps giving me an error when I try to upgrade my LR4 catalog. It goes through the initial steps, stays at "preparing new searchable data" for a long time, then eventually stops and pops up the error message: "Unable to upgrade catalog. Lightroom encountered problems when trying to update the format of the catalog file and cannot use this catalog in this version of Lightroom". I tried upgrading a smaller catalog that I don't use anymore and it worked fine. how I can get this catalog converted? Its my main catalog with all of my current years' images. For the time being LR 4 is working fine but I'd love to get 5 up and running.
