In lr4.1 before Importing images, I'd like to see more info (camera, lens, focal length, f-stop, exposure time etc.) about the images besides just the file name before making the selection to import.
In the library module I just push the i key and it loops through two sets of info and a non-display. Why can't I do this in the Import module? If yes: how? What options do I set and where? If no: Is there a plugin to do so or who do I ask to add this to the next release?
I'm running Lightroom 4.1, but this issue has been present since Lightroom 3.0 using two different, modern ATI Graphics cards, same Sandy Bridge PC.
On any image, shot with any camera, after a few minutes the info display (image information) and the surrounding area will corrupt. It looks like there's a rectangular box about the width of the image and the height of the info display, where the border of the rectangle is made up of bits of the image, hope that makes sense.
Anyway, pressing "I" to cycle through the info display removes the corruption, but then it returns a few minutes later.
Is there a way to view exif info of each photo on the LR 4.2 import screen. I'd like to view Exif data before making the decision to import the capture but can't figure out how to do this. Ideally it would appear as a 'tooltip' when hovering over the image in gridview, or, when looking at a single image it using the "I" key should display image info like it does in other modules of LR4. Are there any plugins that could do that?
I just imported several photos into my catalog using a preset metadata import. After Import I edited all the photos and then was set to export. Unfortunately it was the wrong metadata preset and I want to change it on all my photos. Is there a way that I havent been able to find yet that would allow me to easily change over the metadata copyright info on all the photos without having to start all over again?
I understand we no longer get thumbnails in file/open (apple and microsoft). But what happened to the detail panel for tiffs? I see it for jpegs (like who works with jpegs anymore). But not for tiffs. I have photoshop CS6 and am on Windows XP. I have the file/open function set for 'list.' I find setting it for anything else too cumbersome. And toggling bk and forth between file/open in photoshop and bridge is beyond cumbersome. How is this an improvement?
Many of my catalog images (LR 3.6) do not show file size or pixel information for the associated image file. I suspect this is a hangover from an import of photos from Photoshop Elements which I used in the past. The problem is that when I put such an image in a slideshow or web gallery, the exported image is not properly displayed.
To get around this, I can export the image files to a hard drive directory in original format, and then re-import them into my web gallery collection. The correct file size info is then available in the catalog, and the image reproduces correctly in the exported gallery.
I know (or at least hope) this is a kludge, and there is a more straightforward method to correct the catalog. I have many photos with incomplete image information.
I've been using Lightroom 4 since just a few weeks after it came out and been happy with it. My Canon T3i was new to Raw, but I haven't had any issues importing and images looked as I expected the output to be before editing. I have a preset of my standard settings that I apply during import.
I upgraded to 4.2 this week and I took some light painting shots and when I imported 40+ RAW images, I watched one that I really liked in the preview change from what I expected, to a much darker and overly blue image. I thought at first this was due to my preset so I zereoed out the image but it still didn't look the same as the RAW outside of Lightroom. I deleted the picture from the library and added it again and saw before importing it was lighter and had the colors I expected and after importing it changed to overly blue with really bright spots in it.
I uploaded the RAW converted to JPG using Windows Live Gallery, which shows it as the camera preview showed it, and again after letting lightroom export to a JPG with no image adjustements that I know of URL....
Other pictures from this same shoot but of a green light look as I expect.I do have a Spyder 3 for monitor calibration in case there might be a profile issue.I imported the JPG I created outside of Lightroom and it looks better. If I drag the Black slider to -100 I get a similar look to what Lightroom did when I imported the RAW, although the slider then it positioned at 0.
In my copy of Lightroom 5.3, image info tooltips do not show in the grid view expanded cells even though that option is activated in view options. Is this an issue with Lightroom 5.3? (Note: Image info tooltips in grid view compact cells and the filmstrip do display, however.)
I'm trying to synchronize my folders, and LR4 is consistently crashing when it attempts to display the "Import Results" window. This is on Win7 Pro, using LR4 64-bit. A portion of the pix being imported are successfully stored in the catalog, and the remainder are not. When I restart LR and attempt to synchronize again, the process repeats: find the new pictures (the ones that weren't stored in the previous attempt), start importing them, reach apparent 100%, start to display "Import Results" window and immediately crash.
I'd like to reach the point at which no pix remain to be imported.
Is it possible to disable Photoshop CS6's "On-Canvas Info Display," the "small information pop-ups [that] are displayed near the cursor when using a variety of tools"? (circled in red below). I know it's a cool thing but it sometimes gets in the way. I'm running PS CS6 extended on 64 Bit Windows 7.
I just updated my CorelDraw for X6 to X6.2 and now my object manager will not display the detailed information about the curves. It use to show the fill color, "CMYK, 0,88,77,50" outline fill color CMYK 0,0,0,100"
Now it just shows the curved symbol. Would like to get this back.
I'm playing with the edge commons and json possibilities.
I have a movie with dynamic infos coming from a json file. Everything displays succesfully right now. I would like when I clic on a element (on the thumb picture) that the current info (so I suppose I have to pass an ID somewhere) displays in a movieclip I created (this movieclip is called "detail" in my edge scene).
I currently have a spotlight in my example when clicking on the thumb but I would like to remove it and just display the selected infos in the detail movieclip. I hope I'm clear enough..
I design cushions for airplane seats and am trying to display a leather cover on the cushions with pull lines for piping detailing. etc. I am also wondering if a leather material style is availble for DL online.
I have just downloaded LR4.1 RC2 and in working through an existing catalogue yesterday, found that about 5% of the images in the main window would not load as focused images. (the images had alrady been developed and rated, so I know they were in focus). The navigation and other thumnail images were fine, but some images just kept coming up as unfocused; switching between library and develop mode did not seem to make a difference, neither did moving to another image and back again. I had noticed this in LR4.0, but not nearly so frequently and usually switching to another image and back again or between library
I Just istalled Lightroom 4.2 and imges will not display in Library mode. this LR 4.2 was an upgrade for LR4.1 which worked perfectly before the upgrade. Now all I get in Libary mode is image data and a grey spot where the images should be.
I recently upgraded to LR5 from LR4.1. I have seen on several occasions where the selected image in the Develop Module does not appear. I can move back to the LIbrary view and the image appears, but when I switch back to the Develop Module, the image disappears and only a black box appears (dark grey really). This seems to happen after I have deleted flagged files using the ALT-Backspace shortcut. This has happeded when I deleted while in the Library and Develop Module, but does not happen every time. I have disabled the "Show photo on Mouse Over" view option. Prior to that, the preview window shows the selected or moused over photo.
The only thing I can do to get the develop module to work again is to restart Lightroom. It is very annoying when trying to go through 4000 photos!
I have the demo version of Lightroom 4.1 and really like it and am thinking of buying it. I have one question (at the moment, anyway). In the Library module, when I open an image, the Metadata tab shows me only some of the exif data in my file compared to what I can see from Windows explorer file properties on my jpg files. For example, the Metadata tab does not show me: exposure compensation, metering mode (spot, center-weighted, or matrix), exposure program (like Aperature Priority or Shutter Priority), Contrast, Brightness, Saturation, Sharpness, White Balance, etc.
If Windows Explorer can display the entire exif data for the image, why can't LR? Is there maybe some way I don't know about to make LR show me the full exif data instead of just what it considers "interesting"?
I need to import some vector EPS barcodes into PS7 and then export the document as a PDF but keep the type and the barcodes as vector information. How can I do this?
I am trying to take a handprint such as the one below and change the color of the handprint to say a light pink (or any color) but I want to keep most of the detail of the fine lines that make this handprint unique. The lines could even just come out as white as below. The main thing is to change the overall color while maintaining the fine details. I have been trying to accomplish this for over a week now in Photoshop Elements 11 and I have been unsuccessful as anything I do just totally color fills the image, which does not keep any details of the handprint.
I would like to see the focus point my camera used superimposed on the image in Lightroom with a setting and a keyboard shortcut toggle to turn this on and off. I shoot Nikon D200 and D700 bodies.
I'm taking some photos for my portfolio, when I'm done tweaking them in PS, I go up to the title bar of the document>right-click>File Info, then I'll add my necessary info.
Rather than doing this every time, I remember reading or watching a tutorial years ago about importing copyright info automatically into the photo's "File Info".......
Does anyone know about this? Cause I don't remember how the heck to do it!
Lightroom will not display preview images during import of raw images. Any images in other formats display fine but with raw images I get a gray window the size of the preview image and the words "preview unavailable for this file".
I have a batch of 5000 pictures (jpg). I need to add the information that I have in an .xls file (Excel), from a column with the description of each picture. Each description is different from the others, so I would have to assign the code number of the file jpg (first colum of the excel) to the correspondance info that exists in the column of the description/caption into the IPTC field.
I have tried several ways, applications that I have found through Google, but I have no way to do it. It seems that the origin of the problem is the xls file or the txt file that I have had to created to try to do the importation. In any case messages of errors like "the file does not exists", etc etc. I don`t know what to do it. It's very important and urgent for my job.
* I work with MAC OX S 10.7.5, Adobe Photoshop CS5.1
* I have tried applications like: DIY Metadata, VRA Export-Import Metadata and another ones... which names I don't remember now.
How do I import my iPhoto events into Elements 11 Organizer and keep the events separate. They are all named and I want all the information to remain with the event.
I just cannot get it. In the Library I can see the desktop, but not all the folders in desktop are not visible. Have tried many triks but cannot fiqure this out. The intro tutorial does not explain this at all in necessary details. Why doen´t the folder tree open like in windows? I am just used to work with the windows way to show the folder tree and that is why this looks a bit starange to me.
I sent an image from LR5.3 to PSCC (via edit in PS) where I edited it and then saved it, under a new name, back to the same folder in the LR catalog. It does not seem to matter if I save as TIF or as PSD, I get the following message:
I can the choose SYNCHRONIZE FOLDER by R clicking the folder in lightroom and the image is promply displayed in the LR grid.
This is a recent problem. Don't know what I might have changed in preferences for either application.
I noted after importing my images from my disk f(to Lr5) that some floral images were missing.Luckily they were on my backup disk so i moved these floral images from my backup disk to the proper floral folder in my int. disk f. Now how do i import these new images that are located in their particular floral folder which are indeed there. Also how do you set up these new files to do a preview setup. did try to import these new images, but lightroom would not let me do it because it grayed out the images telling me that we noted some duplicate images here. Yes, i did see a few dups of these images in the floral file. If i deleted these dups under its proper folder in disk f shouldn't lr5 let me continue the import?
