Photoshop :: Keeping Eps Vector Info On Import Into PS7
Dec 11, 2003I need to import some vector EPS barcodes into PS7 and then export the document as a PDF but keep the type and the barcodes as vector information. How can I do this?

View 1 RepliesThis is an interesting question. As most of your probably know, Filebrowser is kind of an app with an app. You can open a RAW camera file and set all the parameters for conversion, then update the file without opening it by choosing the alt (PC) or option (Mac) key. This changes the convert box to update.
A friend of mine, also a photographer, applied color corrections to an entire wedding using Filebrowser and updating his RAW files. He then burned a DVD of the RAW files and sent it to his lab. They converted his files and posted a web gallery. He then noticed that the files were horrible! All the conversion settings were not retained with the RAW files.
I have always assumed that any updated conversion information was stored in the EXIF information of the RAW file. Now I'm beginning to wonder if it's stored in the Filebrowser cache or meta information. If this is the case, then which files need to be kept with the RAW files when you transfer them to another computer? Can this be accomplished?
When I copy a vector shape from one layer to another, the shape picks up the color attributes of an existing shape in the second layer (or sometimes only the outline of the shape appears). What to I do to avoid this from happening (I just just want to paste the shape in its original form and color)?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm taking some photos for my portfolio, when I'm done tweaking them in PS, I go up to the title bar of the document>right-click>File Info, then I'll add my necessary info.
Rather than doing this every time, I remember reading or watching a tutorial years ago about importing copyright info automatically into the photo's "File Info".......
Does anyone know about this? Cause I don't remember how the heck to do it!
I have a flash animation, just shapes and tweening. I was wondering if there's a way to convert it to After Effects but keeping it editable (i.e. getting AE shapes and keyframes).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a batch of 5000 pictures (jpg). I need to add the information that I have in an .xls file (Excel), from a column with the description of each picture. Each description is different from the others, so I would have to assign the code number of the file jpg (first colum of the excel) to the correspondance info that exists in the column of the description/caption into the IPTC field.
I have tried several ways, applications that I have found through Google, but I have no way to do it. It seems that the origin of the problem is the xls file or the txt file that I have had to created to try to do the importation. In any case messages of errors like "the file does not exists", etc etc. I don`t know what to do it. It's very important and urgent for my job.
* I work with MAC OX S 10.7.5, Adobe Photoshop CS5.1

View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to view exif info of each photo on the LR 4.2 import screen. I'd like to view Exif data before making the decision to import the capture but can't figure out how to do this. Ideally it would appear as a 'tooltip' when hovering over the image in gridview, or, when looking at a single image it using the "I" key should display image info like it does in other modules of LR4. Are there any plugins that could do that?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just imported several photos into my catalog using a preset metadata import. After Import I edited all the photos and then was set to export. Unfortunately it was the wrong metadata preset and I want to change it on all my photos. Is there a way that I havent been able to find yet that would allow me to easily change over the metadata copyright info on all the photos without having to start all over again?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn lr4.1 before Importing images, I'd like to see more info (camera, lens, focal length, f-stop, exposure time etc.) about the images besides just the file name before making the selection to import.
In the library module I just push the i key and it loops through two sets of info and a non-display. Why can't I do this in the Import module? If yes: how? What options do I set and where? If no: Is there a plugin to do so or who do I ask to add this to the next release?
I have PS 7, and when I open vectors, it rasturizes them when they are imported. Then I can do nothing with the vectors. How do I import them AS vectors?
View 3 Replies View RelatedOk I know CS2 can import eps files however it converts them to raster images at import.
I also know it can deal with Vector files - as in the 'shape' tool (.CSH format)
How can I easily get my catalogue into the shape tool? ie convert .eps to .csh?
The import is far to unwieldy as I can't even browse my library of eps files...
I used to be able to copy a shape in Illustrator, paste it in Photoshop, and then duplicate the shape layer, removing what I wanted from each layer.
Now that doesn't seem to work, and what's worse, strokes are all messed up - if I apply a stroke to the whole layer, it isn't all visible. If I delete parts of the layer that are unwanted, certain pieces remain invisible, even if I apply a stroke (and fill, for that matter).
I'm on this project that i need to digitize an old artwork. It requires vector (AI) & shading (PS).
I have all line art done in AI. There's like 50 layers on it. The original artwork has "shading" and "highlight" on it used by Air brush.
I just want to import all the layers in photoshop at once. It will be time consuming if i do it one by one SO is there any way that I can transfer all the vector path from AI to PS?
I tried Meshtool and its hard to control. Unlike in Brush tool in PS, I got the freedom to adjust the opacity, softness, etc.
I am creating a series of music worksheets on photoshop. I have created some music scores in a music writing software called Sibelius 7. It has the capability to export the sheet music graphics in the following forms: .pdf, .eps, .bmp, .tiff, .png, .svg .
However, I have tried to 'place' each of them into my photoshop file to see which one will work.
But on saving the photoshop document as a .pdf with any of the graphics formats, the vector quality of the image has been lost, as it pixelates on zooming in. I have also tried to import an .svg file into adobe illustrator to save it as an .ai file and then import that into photoshop, but the image is again pixelated.
I don't really know what is happening, as I am essentially trying to import a file that is a vector (or at least does not pixelate on zooming) into photoshop, hoping for the same qualities to be retained, but it is being lost for some reason.
What should I do?
I'm having a bit of trouble importing models from Vector works into 3DS and being able to apply textures.Object on the left has been imported from Vector Works. Image on the right has been imported from 3DS Max.
I simply apply a texture on both objects although the Vector Works object doesn't seem to respond properly.
Xara Designer Pro has an impressive-looking import format list, but I'm suprised to see that it can't import .svg files.
The reason I would like to open an .svg file is that there is an awesome new resource being built up of symbols called the noun library. [URL] All the files are in .svg format (which I'd imagine was intentional to ensure that lots of folks can open them. Check it out - they're trying to raise $ on kickstarter to enable the growth of the library.
I'm making an HD version of a moving matte I did a while back in After Effects. I'm considering rebuilding it in Smoke.Basically I need to zoom into a shape, I guess cut by a mask, but I need to retain the crispness of the edge.
Having a Gmask on a media layer is rasterising the vector shape by the time it gets into Action so I can't blow it up.Do I need to do all the animation in a Gmask node? I see that it has it's own axis and schematic so so that could be ok, but I wonder if you can do it in Action.
Also, can I import a vector into Smoke as a Geom any how? The Geoms in Action and Gmask are interchangable are they?
I've been trying to find out whether gimp can import and edit vector graphics made e.g. with Inkscape as vector graphics and save them as vectorgraphics, for example in pdf. I'm mainly asking this because I need to make some ads for printing and they need to be in good quality and the best way to keep simple graphics in printable quality is to use them in vector graphics. An ad usually requires a background image and for editing those I need gimp. So in the end I need to combine these two elements and when I do it in inkscape I can't practically do anything to the background image, not even crop it properly, if it needs something to be done (It's kind of hard to imagine what the image needs when you don't have the other elements on top of it). To my mind it'd be a lot easier to finish it in gimp where I can do something to the background images, but is it possible?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there was any way to maintain stroke width (with antialiasing off) when importing/resampling vector files, like pdf. photoshop does this, i think.
i made a test case that shows the issue in the attached files. the PDF is a 1px-stroked square. when i try to rasterize it to 100dpi (or any dpi other than 72) using Gimp or any tool that relies on ghostscript for rasterization (imagemagick, mupdf, xpdf) i get a square with unevenly stroked edges. photoshop's algo maintains the stroke width in favor of maybe less optimal positioning.
is there any way to make Gimp or any other pdf->png rasterization tool (ghostscript included) prioritize stroke widths over positioning?

What I bring to the software is my background in studio arts 2D and 3D. Photography is a tool to support both of these activities. Over the years that skill has developed and I have many great photos. The photos make me a little nuts now that I focus on digital. In digitals photos I easily have over 60,000 photos. I have some experience with Photoshop. I won’t say I am a proficient but will say I have good skills in it. I created my first logo in Photoshop. Of course it is not vector and I know it should be vector. I did it at no charge for a nonprofit. I would still like to create a vector form of the logo. Awhile back I purchased a book titled “Illustrator CS5 on demand”. It breaks it down in a way that Illustrator is less intimidating. It has renewed my interest in Illustrator. How do I more effectively merge all of these tools and skills? How do I bring what I know to Illustrator’s table? I know there are great possibilities here if I can learn to build vector graphics.
I' m importing Excel 2008 excel pie charts to illustrator CS5. I am cutting and pasting content between the applications to import. When importing a pie chart - the chart imports OK, but the pie elements import as low resiolution non-vector elements. Is there a way to import as 100% vector elements? Note - all other chart types - bar graphs etc import fine!.

View 10 Replies View RelatedCan you download a Google Docs Drawing file as a file.svg type And then import it to CorelDraw and convert it to a bunch of CorelDraw vector based lines that can be modified like any other CorelDraw line drawing?
BTW, this is a drawing of a character and is simply b&w lines & shapes on a white background.Line widths vary in the original and we want to be able to modify them even more using all the tools in CorelDraw.
I was able to open the .svg file with CorelDraw but when attempting to 'Edit' a line in the drawing I couldn't change the line width... so it isn't behaving like a CorelDraw vector drawing.
If it´s possible to import vector graphic with fountain fills from AI (adobe illustrator) to CorelDraw x6 for further editing.
if i export from AI to eps or ai, and import to x6 the graphic with fountain fills becomes raster, if i export to pdf, the graphic is almost okay, but not as i wish to.
I am making myself a logo in photoshop. I have made all the letters that will be used, but they are all seperate entities as most of you who have used vectors know. I would like to interconnect the letters, as well as an angel I have made to go above the letters. My question is, how can I join two seperate vector images into one vector image. For example, joining a letter E with a letter D. I wonder if theres a way to do this without having to delete part of each image and then re-draw, which is a pain. Sorry if this isn't really clear, but its hard to explain.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble doing this in my current software, Serif Drawplus, PSE, Photoplus, (I have Gimp but haven't used it ever yet). And I am considering buying X6 for use in other projects. So, can x6 do this in either Photo Paint with a bitmap, or in X6 with a group of Vectors?
I want to wrap a bottle with a logo. The mesh warps aren't working for me in the above applications, and envelope warping will not work either. Transform-Warp is not present in PSE. I mention that because I see a tutorial for PS using that. How would Corel X6 Suite do this? I am considering buying the software once some questions I have about it are cleared up. I wish Corel would make the manual and tutorial videos public. I'd rather download the trial for actually using it rather than trying to see if some feature is present, or a workaround for a feature a competitor has.
I am also hoping to make in this project, some 10-20 different bottles with the logo on, of different sized bottles and different rotations of the bottles. Plan D is acquainting myself with Blender, but lets hope I don't have to go that far!
I am "vector tracing" a logo in PSP, and exporting it to Motionstudio 3D for an explosion effect. I am currently able to do this with no issue, but the explosion effect (specifically the size and shape of the particles) is based on connecting the nodes in a vector object. For example, if I have a capital L made up of 10 nodes, the subsequent explosion effect with separate the L into particles based on the 10 nodes. What I want to do is have the various nodes that comprise the traced letter connect with constituent nodes in the center/surface-area of the letter to form a "grid" (in PSP) so that the subsequent explosion (after export to Motionstudio) is comprised of more/smaller particles. Is there a way of not only having a vector object with "fill", but also having that "fill" made up of other vector data?
