View 2 RepliesThe main develop module controls have disappeared from the develop window. How do I recover them? I'm working with Lightroom 5.3. The missing controls are the sliders for exposure, contrast, clarity, etc. I must have inadvertantly clicked something that made them disappear but nothing I've tried brings them back. I've never had this experience in the years I've been using Lightroom (since version 1.1).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've just started using LR5 and the book I'm using to learn shows sliders in the White Balance section but I've got buttons with no information about temperature. How do I make the change to that configuration?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just now installed LR5, converting my LR3 catalog to LR5 catalog. Everything seemed to go fine. I picked one photo and converted to the 2012 process. The new sliders appeared.
The problem: Any changes I make are seen only in the Navigator window, not the main window. I figured there had to be a simple fix, but I've scoured the web and can find no one having similar problems.
How can I found photos with manual lens correction (Lens Correction/Transform) or cointrain crop (Lens Correction/Transform/Constraint Cop) in LR 4.x ? I tried to do this with Smart Collection but I can't.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI get red and blue splotches on photos in LR5 Develop Module. Seems to be mainly in bright areas of photos. Not there in Library module. I noticed this in the Beta as well but thought it would be fixed before release. In LR4.4 everything is fine.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen i'm editing photos in the develop module they look really clear and good. When i switch to the library, they have a lot of noise and look nothing like how I edited them. I am using lightroom 4 for my mac. It's annoying to have to switch between the develop module and library to see what they are going to look like.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen I start to develop my NEF photo's from my Nikon D7100 some of the pictures have started to develop multicoloured stripes across the bottom. But they seem fine on the external hard drive.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using Lightroom 4.4 Dell Ultrasharp monitor is calibrated. I own and have been referring to Scott Kelby's Lightroom4 book for digital photographers. I recently took some photos of my daughters prom. She had on a beautiful reddish orange dress. I notice that the dress appears very red in the develop module, however, appears a bit more orange in the library module. The change is very noticeable between the modules. The dress also appears similar to the library module view (a bit more orange) when viewed on the web via Flickr utilizing Chrome, Firefox, or IPad. It also appears the same when exported to a JPEG file.
I have done some experimenting and have determined that this color change effect appears to be very noticeable utilizing the Adobe Standard Camera Calibration Profile. It does not happen (at least to a noticeable extent) with the others such as Camera Standard where the dress appears a bit more orange in both the library and develop module. I do, however, like the appearance of the Adobe Standard profile better and this happens to be the default profile as well.
I have also noticed that the dress looks more orange when Soft Proofing is enabled. The change happens immediately when the check box is enabled. Checking the box makes the photo appear similar to the Library module view. Enabling Soft Proofing does make noticeable that there is Destination Gamut Warning which mainly involves the dress which is the point of interest, however, there is no warning with the Monitor Gamut Warning. I am intending to place the photos on the web at this time via Flickr. I will be printing several later so will be worrying about the printer gamut at that time. But for now, I would like to get the photos on the web looking as intended.
I have important some photos into the library catalog, but they are not showing up in the filmstrip or develop module, even when I click to select one. I can work on it in the library section, but not the develop section. What do I have to do to make it appear in 'develop'?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I open the photos in "Library" do not look good. In "Develop" yes... When I go Library to Develop, the screen moves a bit, and then it looks good but does not work because when I export, the photos look, like in Library. I'm climbing the walls from last night (I uninstalled, updated, etc) Now is Lightroom 5.
View 6 Replies View Relatedwhen I take my photos into the 'Develop' area, they become covered with red dots like bacteria.
View 4 Replies View Related I managed to get my catalog transferred from Elements 8 and it is now working well. Feeling confident in the Library module I went to move on to the Develop module and now I have another problem, the photos are not showing up to edit. They are visible in the film strip and the top left corner, but not the actual screen. All the metadata is also available.
Possibly a related problem (which may also need a resolution) is:While all the data is there in Library module it is showing metadata conflict for many photos.
BTW some additional information which may be relevant.
-I have already upgraded to 4.1.
-I have the photos on a network drive.
-Photos are Raw DNG format
The only way I can see my photos is if I hit the crop button in develop mode. Otherwise my thumbnails and main screen all come up with just a gray screen and I am unable to use any of the tools.
View 3 Replies View Relatedwhen I access in Lightroom 4.4 a folder which had been edited originally (and imported) in Lightroom 3, the options and settings for Developing and editing in LR 4 change to appear like the old options in LR3 (Exposure, Recovery, Fill Light and Blacks, instead of Highlights, shadow, whites and blacks etc..). Why is Lightroom 4 doing this. Most of the files I am trying to edit have not been touched before in LR 3 but were simply imported originally into the catalogue from LR3.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running Lightroom 4.1, but this issue has been present since Lightroom 3.0 using two different, modern ATI Graphics cards, same Sandy Bridge PC.
On any image, shot with any camera, after a few minutes the info display (image information) and the surrounding area will corrupt. It looks like there's a rectangular box about the width of the image and the height of the info display, where the border of the rectangle is made up of bits of the image, hope that makes sense.
Anyway, pressing "I" to cycle through the info display removes the corruption, but then it returns a few minutes later.
I can see a previously processed image in the Library module. When I try to open that image in Develop, it changes to another image in the same folder. This only happens with certain images.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMany of my catalog images (LR 3.6) do not show file size or pixel information for the associated image file. I suspect this is a hangover from an import of photos from Photoshop Elements which I used in the past. The problem is that when I put such an image in a slideshow or web gallery, the exported image is not properly displayed.
To get around this, I can export the image files to a hard drive directory in original format, and then re-import them into my web gallery collection. The correct file size info is then available in the catalog, and the image reproduces correctly in the exported gallery.
I know (or at least hope) this is a kludge, and there is a more straightforward method to correct the catalog. I have many photos with incomplete image information.
In lr4.1 before Importing images, I'd like to see more info (camera, lens, focal length, f-stop, exposure time etc.) about the images besides just the file name before making the selection to import.
In the library module I just push the i key and it loops through two sets of info and a non-display. Why can't I do this in the Import module? If yes: how? What options do I set and where? If no: Is there a plugin to do so or who do I ask to add this to the next release?
Image Option window show up every time I save an image after editing. Is there a way to set image quality at High and this window not to show up each time?
View 2 Replies View Relatedi have lots of images on cd. i have tried to import the images from CD. the images are in the catalog. But light room did not save the full image. maybe only a thumb nail and a pointer to the address location of the file. it can not find the file since it knows that it was imported from a cd.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhile editing a TIFF file in the Develop module, the image keeps reloading (image flashes off and on), and the adjustment sliders revert to neutral settings. Makes any editing very diffficult! Windows 7 64-bit 8 GB Ram.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI shoot in RAW. I import an image into lightroom 4.4. I select the image in the Develop module. The image loads very nicely, but within one second of the image opening on my screen, it becomes much softer and slightly lighter. It does it with every new image.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a macbook pro with retina display, in my lightroom 4.1 the images in the library look normal but when i go to develop module the image is blurred and very low quality. In settings the rendering are high quality 2048 1:1
Any way to fix this? Also in my external monitor i notice this thing with minor loss.
I had Lightroom 3. I just got a new computer and installed LR 4.. In the Library module, everything looks fine. When I switch to the Develop module, I can't see the image--just a gray rectangle. The Develop module works, as any adjustments I make are visible when I return to Library, but I can't see what I'm doing.
I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate, 8 GB memory, 64-bit, 970 GB free out of 1.8 TB, and working on RAW images.
Troubleshooting checklist:
1. When you go to Develop, do you see a blank filmstrip?" No. The photos appear in the filmstrip.
2. Does the problem happen regardless of which folder or collection you have selected in Library?" Yes.
3. If you import a new set of photos (that weren't in the original LR3 catalog), does the problem happen with those?" Yes. 4. Do you use stacks in library?" No.
5. If you export a portion of the catalog (a collection or folder, perhaps), then open the exported catalog, does the problem still happen?"
When I export an image from the Develop Module, I'm having a problem with it being 1.5 to 2 stops darker than the original.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to LR5 from LR4.1. I have seen on several occasions where the selected image in the Develop Module does not appear. I can move back to the LIbrary view and the image appears, but when I switch back to the Develop Module, the image disappears and only a black box appears (dark grey really). This seems to happen after I have deleted flagged files using the ALT-Backspace shortcut. This has happeded when I deleted while in the Library and Develop Module, but does not happen every time. I have disabled the "Show photo on Mouse Over" view option. Prior to that, the preview window shows the selected or moused over photo.
The only thing I can do to get the develop module to work again is to restart Lightroom. It is very annoying when trying to go through 4000 photos!
I'm a light room noobie (as in I downloaded it 2 days ago). I'm loving the experience so far, however, I have a quick question, I have edited a few photos I took at a gig, I've developed them, however, when I look at them in Library, there is a loss of sharpness in some, in others where I've reduced noise in Develop, there is still noise when viewed in Library.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using LR 4.3 with Photoshop CS5. I have found that after editing a picture in photoshop (transfer from CR2 to .TIFF file) it correctly transfers back into LR as an updated .TIFF file with all edits from PS. However, on further editing of the picture in LR the image is refreshed after EACH edit (ie. file reloads into LR taking a few seconds). If I am trying to apply an edit as the refresh starts then that edit gets lost i.e. NOT applied. The refresh happends after ANY change to the file. It is very frustrating as it wastes time and makes editing slow (have to keep waiting for a refresh). It does not appear to happen in that way when editing CR2 files.
I have only noticed this feature since installing V4.3 although it may have been happening in previous versions.
I am using W7, i5 2.5 Ghz processor and 8 GB ram with dual screens.
