Oct 4, 2013Suddenly today, cannot see the develop changes happening on the main center image, only on the filmstrip at bottom? Is something set wrong?

View 1 RepliesThe main develop module controls have disappeared from the develop window. How do I recover them? I'm working with Lightroom 5.3. The missing controls are the sliders for exposure, contrast, clarity, etc. I must have inadvertantly clicked something that made them disappear but nothing I've tried brings them back. I've never had this experience in the years I've been using Lightroom (since version 1.1).
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe selected image appears on the main/center panel but not in the preview screen. Printing results in a white sheet of paper with no image at all. The image has been updated to LR 4 - but made no difference.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI just now installed LR5, converting my LR3 catalog to LR5 catalog. Everything seemed to go fine. I picked one photo and converted to the 2012 process. The new sliders appeared.
The problem: Any changes I make are seen only in the Navigator window, not the main window. I figured there had to be a simple fix, but I've scoured the web and can find no one having similar problems.
I have been using lightroom 4. At first it decided that the center image just wouldn't display on some photos. The previews look fine, the selected photo preview seemed to work, but the center image would just gray out like there was no photo at all. I tried to uninstall several things, updated my video drivers, even changed virus protection just in case but nothing worked.
I have the creative cloud, so I uninstalled version 4 and upgraded to version 5. Went into my catalog and almost exactly the same thing started happening. This time, I can see unedited photos, but if I apply a preset the image disappears again. If I click off the photo and click back I can see the image unedited in the main window and the previews show it with the edits. Sometimes I can see the edited photo but at low resolution, but it will not sharpen up to the full image. I even cleared my preview cache just in case but nothing seems to be working.
I don't want to have to re-install windows just to try fix this.I should not that the only thing that changed is that I installed a new Epson printer in windows. I have now uninstalled all but the driver for that printer and still have the issue.
I can see a previously processed image in the Library module. When I try to open that image in Develop, it changes to another image in the same folder. This only happens with certain images.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi have lots of images on cd. i have tried to import the images from CD. the images are in the catalog. But light room did not save the full image. maybe only a thumb nail and a pointer to the address location of the file. it can not find the file since it knows that it was imported from a cd.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhile editing a TIFF file in the Develop module, the image keeps reloading (image flashes off and on), and the adjustment sliders revert to neutral settings. Makes any editing very diffficult! Windows 7 64-bit 8 GB Ram.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI shoot in RAW. I import an image into lightroom 4.4. I select the image in the Develop module. The image loads very nicely, but within one second of the image opening on my screen, it becomes much softer and slightly lighter. It does it with every new image.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a macbook pro with retina display, in my lightroom 4.1 the images in the library look normal but when i go to develop module the image is blurred and very low quality. In settings the rendering are high quality 2048 1:1
Any way to fix this? Also in my external monitor i notice this thing with minor loss.
I had Lightroom 3. I just got a new computer and installed LR 4.. In the Library module, everything looks fine. When I switch to the Develop module, I can't see the image--just a gray rectangle. The Develop module works, as any adjustments I make are visible when I return to Library, but I can't see what I'm doing.
I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate, 8 GB memory, 64-bit, 970 GB free out of 1.8 TB, and working on RAW images.
Troubleshooting checklist:
1. When you go to Develop, do you see a blank filmstrip?" No. The photos appear in the filmstrip.
2. Does the problem happen regardless of which folder or collection you have selected in Library?" Yes.
3. If you import a new set of photos (that weren't in the original LR3 catalog), does the problem happen with those?" Yes. 4. Do you use stacks in library?" No.
5. If you export a portion of the catalog (a collection or folder, perhaps), then open the exported catalog, does the problem still happen?"
When I export an image from the Develop Module, I'm having a problem with it being 1.5 to 2 stops darker than the original.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to LR5 from LR4.1. I have seen on several occasions where the selected image in the Develop Module does not appear. I can move back to the LIbrary view and the image appears, but when I switch back to the Develop Module, the image disappears and only a black box appears (dark grey really). This seems to happen after I have deleted flagged files using the ALT-Backspace shortcut. This has happeded when I deleted while in the Library and Develop Module, but does not happen every time. I have disabled the "Show photo on Mouse Over" view option. Prior to that, the preview window shows the selected or moused over photo.
The only thing I can do to get the develop module to work again is to restart Lightroom. It is very annoying when trying to go through 4000 photos!
I'm a light room noobie (as in I downloaded it 2 days ago). I'm loving the experience so far, however, I have a quick question, I have edited a few photos I took at a gig, I've developed them, however, when I look at them in Library, there is a loss of sharpness in some, in others where I've reduced noise in Develop, there is still noise when viewed in Library.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am using LR 4.3 with Photoshop CS5. I have found that after editing a picture in photoshop (transfer from CR2 to .TIFF file) it correctly transfers back into LR as an updated .TIFF file with all edits from PS. However, on further editing of the picture in LR the image is refreshed after EACH edit (ie. file reloads into LR taking a few seconds). If I am trying to apply an edit as the refresh starts then that edit gets lost i.e. NOT applied. The refresh happends after ANY change to the file. It is very frustrating as it wastes time and makes editing slow (have to keep waiting for a refresh). It does not appear to happen in that way when editing CR2 files.
I have only noticed this feature since installing V4.3 although it may have been happening in previous versions.
I am using W7, i5 2.5 Ghz processor and 8 GB ram with dual screens.
The image does not come up when i switch from the library to develop module.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have several raw images that were imported directly from the memory card into LR5 as DNG files. They look fine in the Library mode - both in Grid and Loupe view, but when they are opened into the Develop module they have gray and pink boxes as if information is missing and I get an error message saying "image appears to be damaged".
Is it really damaged or is there a way to resolve this? When I look at the file itself through Finder it shows the damage, so I'm thinking it's damaged but somehow the previews aren't?
Just want to understand before I import again or start editing only to lose more pictures. Is it a bug?
We recently installed extra RAM only to find out it wasn't compatible with the Mac. We have the correct RAM in there now, but I don't know if I should uninstall and reinstall LR5 or if it should now be fine with the new RAM or if it's totally unrelated to the RAM.
In Lightroom 5 and 5.2, when using the X key, then Delete Rejected Photos, the central display box no longer displays an image. If I switch back to Library mode an image will appear but if I go back to the Develop module, again it's a blank screen! If not, how do I report this directly to Adobe?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm evaluating Lightroom 5 during the 30 day trial and it's all cool except for this one big annoyance that I noticed immediately when trying to work on an image in Develop module. As stated in the title, moving any slider (exposure, highlights, noise reduction, etc.) causes the image to go very blurry for the duration of the slider movement. It goes immediately back to being sharp as soon as I stop moving the slider. This is super annoying, feels as though my eyes are going bad.
What's interesting is that the problem doesn't show up when I'm adjusting the Tone Curve directly, but it will get triggered if I'll expand and use the sliders underneath. So looks like a bug that only applies to sliders.
This doesn't happen at all in Lightroom 4.4, which I still have installed and can compare side-by-side.
As for the hardware, I'm using the 2013 Macbook Air with 1.3 GHz i5 CPU and 8 GB of RAM. The OS X version is 10.8.4 with all latest upgrades installed.
I've already tried optimizing the catalog, giving it more space (currently at 3 GB) and purging it. I'm not using Smart Previews, although I've turned them on for a moment to see if the problem persists with them on - it does. I've also re-rendered the 1:1 preview for the specific image I've been trying it on. Btw, the file is a NEF from Nikon D300 and I'm using the 2012 process (as was the case with LR4). Not sure what else might be relevant here.
I've noticed in the past couple of days that I will be refining an image in the develop module, feel I've gotten it the way I want it to look, and then switch back to the library module to export. When I do so, I notice the colors are quite different than they were just a second ago in the develop module. When I switch back to the develop module, it goes back to the way it looked in the develop module. How might I fix this?

In my command I set this value to true then create a new document. In the event handler, I check to see if the IsAssembly is true but it returns false. The only places this property is set is in the command and the event handler.

I am trying to model an electrical junction box but just cant trim some of the unwanted portions inside the junction box.
I have placed two solids, one merged into the other so that there is no gap between them and the transition is uniform. now i want to remove the extra bit of piece left inside.
surprisingly the trim command is not working ...

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using Photoshop CS4 on a 32bit vista Q6600. When I installed CS4, I had a graphics card based on a 8600GS. Photoshop run fine, even in openGL.
Not I upgraded the graphics card to a 9600GT for better performance. CS4 still starts, but when a photo is loaded, the photo appears correctly in the navigator, but the main window where the photo usually appeared remains grey, as the background. When moving around this window, the photo appear, but as soon as I release the mouse button, the window turn grey again...
When I deactivate openGL in CS4, everything seems to work.

Just started up Elements 11 and the same issue as one month ago happened. All tools show up as a pencil, wether I want to select, clone, resize, doesn't matter, I only can draw a line. Last time I spend a whole night online with support and I had to de-install Elements and re-install.
But I really do not feel like this is how a system should work that every month I have to reinstall the program.
