Lightroom :: 3 - Getting Error Message When Tried To Switch From Library To Develop Module?
Oct 28, 2012I've been using my LR3 for a few months but this is the first time that I got an error message when I was switching from the Library module to the the Develop module. I have a macbook pro with 500 GB HD. I am currently using 450 GB already.

Jul 6, 2012I've noticed in the past couple of days that I will be refining an image in the develop module, feel I've gotten it the way I want it to look, and then switch back to the library module to export. When I do so, I notice the colors are quite different than they were just a second ago in the develop module. When I switch back to the develop module, it goes back to the way it looked in the develop module. How might I fix this?

Feb 7, 2014Sharpening applied in develop module is not shown when switching back to library module. It looks the problem occurs when having size to "FIT". With 1:1 there seams to be no issue. Export also looks fine in 1:1.
I use Mac 10.9.1, LR5.3, Nikon NEF 24Mbit from D600.
I hope this is a way to get support from Adobe.

What's worse is when I export a JPG of the image, it exports the original! What's the point in having LR?

Aug 25, 2012For no reason I can think of, sometimes the photo I see is different from the one that should be there. The correct one shows up in Develop, but I don't understand why Library shows a different one. Sometimes all the images in a folder get shifted over by one, or sometimes one is a duplicate view of another. And then for no reason it seems to resolve. But meanwhile I'm afraid to export the catalog to copy on another computer for fear that I'm exporting incorrect data.

Apr 21, 2013I am using Lightroom 4.4 Dell Ultrasharp monitor is calibrated. I own and have been referring to Scott Kelby's Lightroom4 book for digital photographers. I recently took some photos of my daughters prom. She had on a beautiful reddish orange dress. I notice that the dress appears very red in the develop module, however, appears a bit more orange in the library module. The change is very noticeable between the modules. The dress also appears similar to the library module view (a bit more orange) when viewed on the web via Flickr utilizing Chrome, Firefox, or IPad. It also appears the same when exported to a JPEG file.
I have done some experimenting and have determined that this color change effect appears to be very noticeable utilizing the Adobe Standard Camera Calibration Profile. It does not happen (at least to a noticeable extent) with the others such as Camera Standard where the dress appears a bit more orange in both the library and develop module. I do, however, like the appearance of the Adobe Standard profile better and this happens to be the default profile as well.
I have also noticed that the dress looks more orange when Soft Proofing is enabled. The change happens immediately when the check box is enabled. Checking the box makes the photo appear similar to the Library module view. Enabling Soft Proofing does make noticeable that there is Destination Gamut Warning which mainly involves the dress which is the point of interest, however, there is no warning with the Monitor Gamut Warning. I am intending to place the photos on the web at this time via Flickr. I will be printing several later so will be worrying about the printer gamut at that time. But for now, I would like to get the photos on the web looking as intended.
Lightroom :: Colour Shift Between Develop Module And Library
Jan 25, 2012I'm running LR3.6 on XP SP2 with a wide gamut NEC PA241W monitor (calibrated). I haven't noticed a problem before, but just noticed a colour shift on shots of autumn golds and yellows. I get the image how I want it, working from the raw file in the Develop module, then switch to the Loupe view in the Library, where it looks less saturated. This is still viewing the raw file, not an exported file, so it should still all be working in the internal ProPhoto colour space?

Mar 2, 2012I am having trouble with the Raw fies that have been adjusted in the Develop Module loosing all of their luster and pop when switching back to Library and exporting. In other words, my adjustments are generally flattened out and colors muted when going from Develop to Library. I see that the Camera Calibration shows only ONE profile option: Matrix. However, the same single option for my 7D is also Matrix but the Raw files appear to hold my adjustments after being made in the Develop module.
I am using LR 2.7 and Camera Raw 5.7.
Lightroom :: Different Color Saturation Between Library And Develop Module
Jun 18, 2012Using Lightroom 4.1 final, I see greatly different color saturation between the Library (very saturated) and the Develop (seems OK) module if I start the program on my sRGB monitor and drag the window to the wide gamut screen.
It seems like the Library preview is rendered as if the monitor was sRGB.
This seems very similar to the problem that was fixed from 4.1 RC2 to 4.1 final, but more specific to particular circumstances. And the problem does not exist if LR starts on the wide gamut monitor.
I'm using LR 4.1 final 64 bit on Windows 7 64 bit and I always use LR with a single window despite having two monitors.

Lightroom :: Quick Develop Module Doesn't Show With Cursor Movement?
Nov 15, 2011Somehow, the little triangle that opens and closes the Quick Develop Module in my Library has become solid, so it no longer pops the menu open when I glide my cursor over to the right side of a full screen image. How do I get the Quick develop module triangle to have that shadow look again so that when I glide the cursor to it the module opens.
I must have changed this with a keystroke or something but for the life of me I cannot get it back and it's driving me crazy. I do not like the module open all the time and it's a pain to use the keystroke or click the triangle each time I need to make a quick adjustment. I hope this is not an upgrade change. I notice it is the same in my develop module.

Lightroom :: Unable To See Image In Develop Module?
Jan 28, 2013I had Lightroom 3. I just got a new computer and installed LR 4.. In the Library module, everything looks fine. When I switch to the Develop module, I can't see the image--just a gray rectangle. The Develop module works, as any adjustments I make are visible when I return to Library, but I can't see what I'm doing.
I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate, 8 GB memory, 64-bit, 970 GB free out of 1.8 TB, and working on RAW images.
Troubleshooting checklist:
1. When you go to Develop, do you see a blank filmstrip?" No. The photos appear in the filmstrip.
2. Does the problem happen regardless of which folder or collection you have selected in Library?" Yes.
3. If you import a new set of photos (that weren't in the original LR3 catalog), does the problem happen with those?" Yes. 4. Do you use stacks in library?" No.
5. If you export a portion of the catalog (a collection or folder, perhaps), then open the exported catalog, does the problem still happen?"
Lightroom :: 5 - Selected Image Does Not Display In Develop Module
Jul 8, 2013I recently upgraded to LR5 from LR4.1. I have seen on several occasions where the selected image in the Develop Module does not appear. I can move back to the LIbrary view and the image appears, but when I switch back to the Develop Module, the image disappears and only a black box appears (dark grey really). This seems to happen after I have deleted flagged files using the ALT-Backspace shortcut. This has happeded when I deleted while in the Library and Develop Module, but does not happen every time. I have disabled the "Show photo on Mouse Over" view option. Prior to that, the preview window shows the selected or moused over photo.
The only thing I can do to get the develop module to work again is to restart Lightroom. It is very annoying when trying to go through 4000 photos!

Oct 17, 2013I have several raw images that were imported directly from the memory card into LR5 as DNG files. They look fine in the Library mode - both in Grid and Loupe view, but when they are opened into the Develop module they have gray and pink boxes as if information is missing and I get an error message saying "image appears to be damaged".
Is it really damaged or is there a way to resolve this? When I look at the file itself through Finder it shows the damage, so I'm thinking it's damaged but somehow the previews aren't?
Just want to understand before I import again or start editing only to lose more pictures. Is it a bug?
We recently installed extra RAM only to find out it wasn't compatible with the Mac. We have the correct RAM in there now, but I don't know if I should uninstall and reinstall LR5 or if it should now be fine with the new RAM or if it's totally unrelated to the RAM.

Sep 21, 2013In Lightroom 5 and 5.2, when using the X key, then Delete Rejected Photos, the central display box no longer displays an image. If I switch back to Library mode an image will appear but if I go back to the Develop module, again it's a blank screen! If not, how do I report this directly to Adobe?
