The "Edit in" HDR pro is grayed out in Lightroom 5. I read that the File form had to be tiff not PSD, so I changed that in preferences to no avail. I am a creative cloud subscriper using Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CC, both of which were downloaded from the cloud.

I just installed LR 5 and find all the previews grayed out. In grid view I see only placeholders and metadata, no images. Also the navigator window is blank. When I go to develop-mode the image stays invisible, until I enter the cropping mode. Only then the image becomes visible, but after exiting this tool it is gray again. Removed LR and installed again, same issue.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded my C drive to an SSD and upgraded my D drive to a larger hard drive. Also upgraded Vista Ultimate to Windows 7 Ultimate. When I open Lightroom 4 (or 3.6 for that matter) all the photos are represented by raised grey rectanges. The file name is correct and the histograms comes up properly. I tried synchronizing folders that did not work. I know the photos are there on the hard drive. Not sure if I have messed up previews somehow. To add to that I have a rather complecated Lightroom folder as far catalog and previews are concerned. Not sure why, but catalog is always a 2-2 version although there is a 2 version folder there as well. To further make it interesting I tried to rename my catalog and previews to (my catalog 4, etc) and only succeeded in creating two more folders but lightroom was still opening in the old 2.2 catalog.
Mostly I want my images to show, but how to consolidate and clean up catalogs and previews as well. Note, Lightroom worked fine before hard drive replacement even with the catalog mess.
I’ve moved the folders for LR 3.6 to an external drive. Now the folder names are grayed out and, rather than a file count on the right hand side, there is an ellipsis (“…”). I’ve tried “synchronize folders” to no effect. Running on OS X 10.7.2 with a Mac Pro.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI uploaded some RAW + Jpeg files and converted to them DNG into a folderin My Pictures called '*****_originals'.I've edited some of them in LR and others in PS. From PS, I created a new folder I named '****Edited' and 'Saved As' Jpeg's into this folder! From Lightroom, I exported the ones I'd edited, as Jpegs to the same folder as above.But, when I looked in the folder in Lightrooms Library, only the photo's exported from LR were there....OK, that's fine, as I knew I'd have to 're-import' the PS files back into the LR Catalog BUT, here's the problem....
When I go to import, those photo's are already there but greyed out, so I can import!But when I go back to the Library module again, they're not there? I can see them in finder and in Bridge... is this a Bug?
I have just installed Photoshop Elements 11 and LR 4.2. For the first time in my experience the edit in photoshop is grayed out. All my NIK software is recognized, only photoshop is grayed out.
I have the external editor set for TIFF, 16-bit.
When Exporting images in LM4 (4.0), the previous list of export folders is grayed out and none can be selected. You have to choose the destination folder via the Choose button. On the next Export the previously selected folder appears in the list but, again, cannot be selected. The Clear List is also grayed out so you cannot clear the list down. This function worked fine in LM3. Is this a known reported fault?

After this upgrade I find that I can no longer select the option "Edit in Photoshop", the option is grayed out and is not selectable. I have Photoshop CS6 currently installed and don't have plans to upgrade to Photoshop CC (out of my price range).
If Lightroom V5 only interfaces with Photoshop CC now?
I had this problem in LR3 so I decided to upgrade to LR4 thinking it will be better but same result. I can't import at all. Import Photos and Videos Button in the dropdown is grayed out. Import button is also grayed out! I can't do anything!
By the way, I'm using Mountain Lion.
I am using LR 4.2 (on Mac) and have been using LR since 2.0. Yesterday all the badges on all my photos disappeared in Grid View. I didn't change any prefernce settings, or update that I am aware of. When I go to View > Grid View Styles> Show Badges, that option is checked, however it is grayed out. On the Mac that usually indicates it is not a viable option.
I've restarted the program but the problem remains. how to bring back badges?
The quick develop panel in the library tab is all grayed out and I am unable to make quick changes without being in the develop tab.All images are canon raw. I've never had this happen in lr3 or lr4. Is there a setting I am missing?

Also open as a smart object in Photoshop, merge to panorama in Photoshop, Merge to HDR in Photoshop and open as layers in Photoshop are all greyed out. All the folders created by the Choose option since installing LR4 are shown, but the are grayed out an inaccessable. I am unable to locate the Preferences file in my user library (Mac Lion 10.7.3) to delete it to see if that might work.

I'm trying to import photos into LR3.3, and the thumbnails are grayed out, as is the import button. The photos come from two other cameras -- one Canon Elf, the other I'm not sure. I received them through dropbox, and they open fine with Bridge and Photoshop CS4.

A couple of weeks ago I noticed that the links to Photoshop from Lightroom were all grayed out. for example when I right click on an image and select "Open With," it and all of the rest of the links to Photoshop are grayed out and inaccessable. I have been using Photoshop since v2 ansd Lightroom since v1. My operating system in Win 7.
Uninstall and reinstall Photoshop to reestablish the links. I spent about two hours doing that yesterday. when I was done the links were back and functional. I left the compluter on all night to make sure everything was backed up. This morning I opened Lightroom (64bit) and attempted to open an image in Photoshop for editing. I am experiencing a problem with the 3D tools on CS6 Extended. I have checked and my vRAM is 512mb which seemed to be the biggest source of this problem for other people, but my 3D tools are still greyed out. I have converted the working file from CYMK to RGB and the 3D tools have become available.

I do have some issues with the inverse selection. Once I finished using "Pen Tool" and all dots have been connected I go to Select-Inverse to select the image but unfortunately the"Inverse" is grayed out. I remebere having this issue few years ago . I did called the Adobe Tech Support and have been navigated to the program folder to replace some of the files that have been corrupted. After that everything was working fine.

I have a .tif file from a camera.
It has not been worked on in PS.
It has no selections, no layers, etc.
When I select filters, all the options,
including sharpen are grayed out.
How can I get access to the various filters?
My problem is that I have a layer in CS3 which is a rasterized layer with text in it. I am trying to apply a filter under the 'Distort' section but the ONLY one that I can select is the 'Lens Correction', every other filter in 'Distort' is grayed out.
