Photoshop :: 3D Features Grayed Out On CC?
Aug 23, 2013
I'm having difficulty getting the 3D features to work in Photoshop CC. They're grayed out and I have updated drivers, uninstalled/installed, etc. I'm hoping I just missed something and don't need to upgrade something as it is a work computer (on Windows 7 Professional). I'm pretty new to the Adobe programs and would like to explore the 3D features.
System Info:
Adobe Photoshop Version: 14.0 (14.0 20130423.r.221 2013/04/23:23:00:00) x64
Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit
Version: 6.1 Service Pack 1

3D features require a minimum of 512MB of vRAM. Photoshop has detected less than that on your system.Updating the driver of your graphics card may resolve the issue. URL....

Several features in Photoshop CS6 are greyed out for no reason I can tell, including Content-Aware Fill. I've noticed my Camera Raw plugin is outdated, but when I try to update it through Photoshop I always get the above message. Updates obtained directly from the Adobe website don't seem to include plugins. Is there a way to either make the server respond or obtain the updated plugin from another source? Am I even on the right track for enabling Content-Aware Fill?

I just purchased a single app membership in CC but the Photoshop that I have is still the old CS6 from the trial. When I paid for the membership I thought that the Photoshop CC with more and advanced features would be a part of the deal.

So today I downloaded Photoshop CS6 Extended edition (64-bit) for Windows. When I tried to use the 3D features, it wouldn't let me, because I didn't have enough VRAM dedicated. So when I went into preferences, I could only set my VRAM up to 503 MB. I would say that I just don't have enough video memory; however, I have 3061 MB. I tried going into my BIOS and adjusting the video card memory allocation settings, except I didn't see any.
Specs:
AMD A8-3500M APU with
AMD Radeon HD 6620G with discrete-class graphics (3061MB total video memory)
6 GB RAM
640 GB Hard Drive
HP w/ Windows 7
Full name:
HP - 15.6" Pavilion Laptop - 6GB Memory - 640GB Hard Drive - Dark Umber

When I attempt to extrude some text in CS6, there is no ground plane, no widgets, no viewing panel and none of those fancy grab handles that are meant to be there. The move, scale and rotate for 3D tools have a 'no entry' sign when I attempt to use them on the model, even though it has extruded.
Windows 7 64-bit
AMD Hex Core 1090T @ 4Ghz
12Gb ddr3 1600mhz

So I have a CC subscription. The CC only feature of being able to apply liquify filter to a smart object is working fine but the new smart sharpen has no new noise reduction slider. Why are some CC only features working while others are not?

Why doesn't transform selection, tools, open (on random documents, more likely to work if I drag and drop than double click a file or use file->open), save, or "save as" work most times my computer is running? These actions have no effect. Restarting my computer doesn't always fix it. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium with Photoshop CS4 64-bit. Switching to Photoshop 32-bit fixes nothing. I have the patch installed.

I have just installed Photoshop CS6 and I found a video tutorial on Youtube to educate me how to use the new 3D fearures for the text option. I followed them to the instructions online but when I went to select the 3D option, all the options in that dropdown list were 'greyed out' and unselectable.
I now do not know whether I have installed something incorrectly or whether my computer is just not able to make use of the 3D features because of it's age and/or system setup. Below is a screengrab of what my system settings are.

I was recently having trouble getting my 3d features to work in photoshop. I tried re-setting everything and reinstalling the program and changing preferences and nothing worked. Finally after about 4 hours of trying to figure it out I figured out that I was working in CMYK color mode, so I changed it to RGB and that fixed it. So, if you're having trouble with this make sure you check your color mode and be sure that it is in RGB not CMYK.

I'm messing with CS3. I have Bridge set to allow me to use ACR to open jpegs as well as RAW files. Worked fine for a while... all of a sudden the "camera raw preferences" option is gone from Bridge. I can still open files FROM Photoshop in ACR but not from Bridge. Even when bridge allows it to open in ACR it has to start Photoshop to do it rather than just popping up the ACR window like it was for a while.
This is a known problem without a known cause that I have been able to find in my research. It's not platform dependent from what I've been reading after much googling. Resetting preferences, clearing cache, and playing with settings don't seem to make any difference. From what I've read online, even reinstalling sometimes doesn't work.

I have a license for Photoshop CS4 Extended (Windows) and for some reason whenever I install it the software appears to be installing as regular non-Extended CS4. At least, the 3D menu items don't appear, and when I go to "About Photoshop" it doesn't say extended.
I have double-and triple-checked that my serial number and license are for the Extended version. It says it right there on the package, on the CD, and on the sticker with the Serial Number.
I had to wipe my machine and re-install everything recently, and now it's not showing up. Is there something else I need to do when installing? Is there some hidden option I need to turn on?

I have PS CC (PS only). Updated to ACR 8.1. I am not seeing Camera Raw 8.1 as a filter (drop-down from the main Filter menu) option, nor do I see the Radial filter (within ACR - no elipse icon), nor do I see the Upright from the main Filter menu within Lens Corrections.

I cannot figure this out and am having trouble looking up an answer:
Sometimes when I have a file open in CS3, dropdown options are unavailable. for instance, I have a tiff open and the "texture" filter option (amongst others) is unavailable to click.

my video card is kind of old, but it should support OpenGL shouldn't it?
Anyway I've installed the latest drivers and even tried Adobe's "force old card" reg hack and still it doesn't work.

My Photoshop Elements 10 organizer will not let me use any of the features. I have a number of photos that show up when I open the organizer, but it won't let me scroll through them. Whenever I try to move through the photos with my mouse, it keeps jumping back to the top of the photos. Also, when I try to open the "file" or "edit" etc, it just flashes quickly the things in that section and goes off so quickly I can't select anything. I don't seem to have this problem in the editor portion of the program.

I am experiencing a problem with the 3D tools on CS6 Extended. I have checked and my vRAM is 512mb which seemed to be the biggest source of this problem for other people, but my 3D tools are still greyed out. I have converted the working file from CYMK to RGB and the 3D tools have become available.

I have Photoshop CS6 13.0.1 x64 Extended and all options under the 3D manu are grayed out. My graphic adapter is nVidia GeForce GTX 650 (it has 1024 MB memory). I have Windows 7 x64 and 8GB RAM.
In Performance settings I have checked to use the graphic processor and in Advanced settings the drawing mode either Basic, Normal or Advanced, it doesn't make a difference.
I just tried to create a 3D postcard and got this message: why the 3D doesn't work and what can be done about it?Here is a fragment of System Info regarding the display driver. The line with OpenCL Version is empty, although I have checked "Use OpenCL", could this be a problem?
