I was recently having trouble getting my 3d features to work in photoshop. I tried re-setting everything and reinstalling the program and changing preferences and nothing worked. Finally after about 4 hours of trying to figure it out I figured out that I was working in CMYK color mode, so I changed it to RGB and that fixed it. So, if you're having trouble with this make sure you check your color mode and be sure that it is in RGB not CMYK.
Since Edge only has rectangles and ellipses built in as available shapes, how to I/we work with polygon shapes and active mouseover areas INSIDE of these shapes and non-active mouseover areas OUTSIDE of the shapes?
Problem/symptom: when I import a polygon, be it any file format from from Photoshop or SVG from Illustrator, a rectangular border/background (transparent) gets applied, leading to this rectangle defining the mouseover area of the shape - and not the shape itself (be it a star or whatever).
WHAT I WANT: the very shape defines the mouseover area. How do I achieve this?? See examle below:
I feel really dumb right now but for some reason I'm having trouble deselecting. First off, I'm talking layers and vector objects here. I know Cmd D deselects selections. But how you do deselect any layer which might currently be active? I'm working in PS CS6 for the first real time and it's like I suddenly got dumb or something.
I know you can select a blank area of the Layers Panel to do it, but my Layers Panel is full right now, so I don't even see any dead space. This is especially troubling because I'm making a lot of shape layers and if I do that while a layer is selected then I wind up making masks.
I am new to Photoshop and I want to learn how to realy use it to its full capacity, so I purchased a book titled Adobe Photoshop CS5 one-onone by Deke McClelland. I was going through the chapters and I came upon the use of the Rotation Tool. While following along I selected the rotation tool to rotate an image, but with teh tool selected all I got was the little circle with the line through it indicating it was not active.what may be causing this?
When I try to use any software I am getting message that I am not logged ino my CC cloud account. When I try I keep on getting the message that there is a server error and I should try again later.
If I am working on a layer, then select a new layer to work on, then paint on that layer, then undo: the brush stroke is undone, but also the previous layer I was working on re-becomes the active layer. I want it to stay on the new layer I selected. Is there an option for this?
This is something I've always wanted, and don't know if it exists. I'd like to somehow place type in an image, and scroll down the font selections to see the font choice change in the image window (not in the font sample area of the Character Window, or Type Menu line). I know you can click on the font to see it change in the image window,
but ideally I'd like to scroll down the font list, or down arrow down it, to see the font quciky change in my image to pick a font.
In my pc,video card supports openGL, and the openGL is available in performance menu, but the scrubby zoom does not active, and I cannot have a pan zoom ,how can I update the photoshop to remove the bug?
When I enter my code to redeem my purchase, the adobe site says:
This code doesn't seem to be active. Please contact the retailer you purchased the card from, or use a different code. For more information contact Customer Support and order by phone.
I just purchased a single app membership in CC but the Photoshop that I have is still the old CS6 from the trial. When I paid for the membership I thought that the Photoshop CC with more and advanced features would be a part of the deal.
So today I downloaded Photoshop CS6 Extended edition (64-bit) for Windows. When I tried to use the 3D features, it wouldn't let me, because I didn't have enough VRAM dedicated. So when I went into preferences, I could only set my VRAM up to 503 MB. I would say that I just don't have enough video memory; however, I have 3061 MB. I tried going into my BIOS and adjusting the video card memory allocation settings, except I didn't see any.
Specs: AMD A8-3500M APU with AMD Radeon HD 6620G with discrete-class graphics (3061MB total video memory) 6 GB RAM 640 GB Hard Drive HP w/ Windows 7

If I move my cursor within 25 pixels of a transform control, it activates it. So, on smaller objects it becomes impossible to slide them. Because every time I have the mouse over the object, it is snapping to a transform handle. Thus, when I click, I am now either rotating or scaling the object.
Is there some way to limit this active area to only 3 pixels around the handle, or turn off the cursor snapping to them?
Is there a script to convert a layer or layer group to a 32-bit image rather then the entire active document at present that is the only option in Ps 5.x.
I have a problem rendering my animation in photoshop. I have cs4, 5.5 and 6 installed and still i can render because the quicktime section is not active. I have quicktime installed already. my pc is a dual core cpu @ 2.70GHz, 2.0GB ram, 32bit operating system x64 based processor.
In CS5 you could move an open photo window by click and hold and move the window to wherever you wanted without Photoshop being the active app in the forground. In CS6 you can no longer do this. You first have to click the photo/window which will bring Photoshop to the forground, then you have to click and hold again to be able to move the photo to wherever you want. Is this a bug or a feature in CS6?
If it's a new feature or the way it's suppose to work, I vote to make it like it worked in CS5....this is not progress! Mac Pro running 10.7.
I have a lot of fonts, but I only enable about 30 fonts at a time using Font Book. However, ALL 1000+ of my fonts still appear in the pull down menu in Photoshop. This causes my system to slow down and Photoshop to crawl.
Dumping my font caches is not working. This problem seems to happen a lot and at random times. This affects ONLY Adobe products (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator). All my other programs work well with Font Book.
Specs: Photoshop CS3 Font Book ver 2.2.2 OS 10.6.8 (20" iMac) Upgrading to newer OS is NOT an option.
Dumped all AdoneFnt*.lst files and restarted. Restarted in safe mode. Checked all fonts for corruption (all are perfect). Tried FontNuke.app
I'm running Photoshop Elements 12 with Windows 7 on Intel i7-3960x. OS and program are on SSD. Files on HHD. Experiencing frequent Organizer crashes especially while updating faces or scrolling, but it will also crash when it not active (just sitting in background). I turned off auto analysis and so far no crash. I have tried remove and reinstall, repair cat, optimize, etc. No luck. I have about 50,000 files in catalouge.
Well, after two days, Organizer 12 still crashing whether or not analyzer is active. Tried reloading program to same drive photos are on. Still crashing. Removed Premiere 12, still craches. Also, running face analysis on a single picture faile to find any faces - even on pictures with clear, easily identifyable faces. I am getting tired of seeing "Elements 12 Organizer has stopped working". I did not have these problems with earlier editions.
A day later. So I had a chat session with Adobe and the recommendation was to create a new catalog and start over. The suspected cause of the problem was corrupted imported tags. I did not follow the recommentation. I went back to my catalog and looked through the imported tags (using the large icons selection). I found one tag connected to Facebook and a couple of tags with busted icons. I deleted them. I created new tags to replace the imported tags and deleted all the imported tags. The program has been solid for two days and a lot of usage.
I scanned a number of photos and when I went into editor>image and the divide scanned photos was not an active choice. It was on the menu but I couldn't select it. I scanned a number of times to include setting the pictures at an angle just to be sure it could be detected. It used to work in PSE 9
I am using an HP office jet Pro 8600 premium. OS is windows 7
When I attempt to extrude some text in CS6, there is no ground plane, no widgets, no viewing panel and none of those fancy grab handles that are meant to be there. The move, scale and rotate for 3D tools have a 'no entry' sign when I attempt to use them on the model, even though it has extruded.

So I have a CC subscription. The CC only feature of being able to apply liquify filter to a smart object is working fine but the new smart sharpen has no new noise reduction slider. Why are some CC only features working while others are not?
Why doesn't transform selection, tools, open (on random documents, more likely to work if I drag and drop than double click a file or use file->open), save, or "save as" work most times my computer is running? These actions have no effect. Restarting my computer doesn't always fix it. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium with Photoshop CS4 64-bit. Switching to Photoshop 32-bit fixes nothing. I have the patch installed.
I have just installed Photoshop CS6 and I found a video tutorial on Youtube to educate me how to use the new 3D fearures for the text option. I followed them to the instructions online but when I went to select the 3D option, all the options in that dropdown list were 'greyed out' and unselectable.
I now do not know whether I have installed something incorrectly or whether my computer is just not able to make use of the 3D features because of it's age and/or system setup. Below is a screengrab of what my system settings are.
I am interested in finding out how to enable Graphics features in Photoshop CC. I am using Windows 7, with Intel G41 chipset and even though the box is checked next to "Graphics Accelerator", I still cannot use the 3D features.
