Just noticed that all of my folder titles are grayed and not white and the photo quantity numbers don't show.....everything is still in place, what gives? I am new to lightroom and starting to panic!

I’ve moved the folders for LR 3.6 to an external drive. Now the folder names are grayed out and, rather than a file count on the right hand side, there is an ellipsis (“…”). I’ve tried “synchronize folders” to no effect. Running on OS X 10.7.2 with a Mac Pro.

Peter in New York
Mark in Rome
I would like to do a search like
1)
Find of pictures that whose's folders contains "*Mark*"
and this will pick "Mark in Boston" and "Mark in Rome"
2)
Find "Mark" or "Peter" and he will give me pictures from all the threee directory.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have LR 3.6 and have created a catalog of pictures from a ski trip I took last year. All of these pictures and the LR catalog are in one folder on my hard drive. After sorting, deleting and retouching quite a few pictures I now notice that one picture is missing from the library. If I open the folder in Explorer (Win 7) I can see the picture, and Windows Picture & Fax Viewer will open/display this picture so it appears the file itself is fine.
However, I cannot get this picture into the library for some reason. When I choose File>Import Photos this one picture doesn't show up in the list of photos. It's as if Lightroom can't see this picture for some reason.
Oh, and I don't know if it matters, but there is a movie clip with the same filename but a different extension (obviously) that does show up in the library and the import dialogue. The picture filename is DSC_0001.jpg, the movie filename is DSC_0001.mov.
When I edit a photo in Lightroom I see the edited photo in my folder, but what happens to my original?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a preset that allows me to export my photo to a subfolder of the original folder. In my case it's simply called jpg export. This allows me to do all my edits when the shot is in it's original "Date taken" folder and all my edited shots from that folder show up in the jpg export folder when I run the preset. My issue is that the jpg shows up in BOTH the original folder and the jpg export folder. I know it's operator error but what's wrong with my settings? Under Export Location I have Export To: Same folder as original photo (this is the reason for my problem but I am not sure what to change it to) Put in Subfolder: is checked and the folder is called jpg export. Add to This Catalog: is also checked.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter I edit photos in an external editor, my photo is moved from its original location in the folder, to a different one. The photo stays within the same folder but is moved to a new location within it. This is really annoying as I have a couple thousand photos from a trip to Europe I have been going through, and after my external editor closes and I am returned to LR, I have to find the photo which has been moved to some random spot so I can put it back to where it originally was. I want to keep my photos organized by location, so it really sucks when my photos from Turkey end up with my photos from Hungary. How I can stop this???
View 5 Replies View RelatedSometimes (atleast 2 times) when I take photos late, butween about 10-11 PM they are created in a folder with the date for the following day.
Last time this happend was yesterday (2013-06-05). Almost all photos was automaticlly in folder for 2013-06-05 for the import but 10 photos shot between 10.07pm - 10.43pm was put in the folder 2013-06-06.
Im using Lightroom 4.4 Swedish version.
Is it at date/time-proporties in Lightroom which is wrong (not Swedish-time) or what can it be?
When exporting my edited pictures to a folder in m Pictures it goes as a blank soft color but no photo. It looks like a tiny dot and when you open it, it is a soft color..

Have just installed Windows LR4 trial, told it to Import files from my photo collection in a folder + subfolders on a network attached storage (NAS) unit. Windows Explorer tells me that there are 10,308 files in 408 folders in the main folder, totalling 38.8gb but on scanning the folder prior to import LR4 tells me that there are only 9,612 photos.
My photo collection folder contains only photos and no other file types.
Why is there this discrepancy ? I've searched around to see whether there is some hidden filter that is excluding certain photo files but cannot find anything of that nature.
I am using a template to create multi photo collage in Photoshop, I can't make the numbers go away. Did it once and saved the file wrong, am now having a print made with numbers on every photo. Very frustrated new user. So far, do not like working with this software. Takes entirely too much time to figure out how to use all the functionality.

When I try to select the source, the TWAIN option is grayed-out and will not allow to be selected. My question is: Why is this option grayed-out. Does Corel X6 64 bit support TWAIN scanners?

It seems to default to MyCatalog but leaves the location on the CD rather than copying it to the drive. If I remove the CD the images is reported as missing.

A direct download of the installer from adobe is not possible unfortunately.
I was in the process of moving a folder inside or LR. I might have clicked and moved it twice since it was very slow. LR wasn't able to complete the move and gave me an error message. After I clicked "OK" on the error message, I wasn't able to find my folder/images from the old or new location. I did a spotlight search on my mac, but I wasn't able to find them anywhere. Where has my folder/images gone? I tried to locate them without any success.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had a batch of 42 photos and laboriously entered titles for each one. At about the 40th, I discovered the program had copied into all the picture titles the most recent title entered. So it had overwritten my work. I started over and entered titles again. This was not a synch action on my part and there were no efforts to have a repetitious action that might apply to the pictures included in my collection.
I will understand this is probably some kind of "feature" but if so where do I turn it off? This is Lightroom 4 and involves both raw and jpg files.
