Lightroom :: Quick Develop Panel Not Working (grayed Out)
Jun 15, 2013
The quick develop panel in the library tab is all grayed out and I am unable to make quick changes without being in the develop tab.All images are canon raw. I've never had this happen in lr3 or lr4. Is there a setting I am missing?
I was really hoping that the Quick Develop panel in the Library Module which I sometimes use if there are minor touchups needed to a photo would have been redesigned to more closely resemble and work like the Basic panel in the Develop Module. Certainly sliders instead of those arrow buttons would be a very useful change.
I am using LR5 and my Quick Develop Module is missing. My photos are online and so this is not the problem. I rebooted but still no Quick Develop Module. I can use the other modules.
I want to increase the exposure of a batch of photos by one quarter of a stop. The Quick Develop module seems to allow only one third increments. Can I change this? The Sync function matches absolute exposure. So apparently do all the presets.I see that there is a third party plug in that may do this, but is there no way to do it in Lightroom 4?
I need to know how to do the above procedure in lr5 as when i did the processing of one image i saw no tab to click to save the image or move the image or clicking done?
Somehow, the little triangle that opens and closes the Quick Develop Module in my Library has become solid, so it no longer pops the menu open when I glide my cursor over to the right side of a full screen image. How do I get the Quick develop module triangle to have that shadow look again so that when I glide the cursor to it the module opens.
I must have changed this with a keystroke or something but for the life of me I cannot get it back and it's driving me crazy. I do not like the module open all the time and it's a pain to use the keystroke or click the triangle each time I need to make a quick adjustment. I hope this is not an upgrade change. I notice it is the same in my develop module.
Can add the "keywording" panel in the Develop tab?
In my workflow, I rate or tag a photo only after I've made some PP adjustment. So, my workflow would flow better if the "keywording" tab resided in the Development tab as well. Is this possible? Can you add a panel from another tab?
I'm using macs running mountain lion. I've updated two computers to Lightroom 4.2. One shows the new form for the basic panel of the develop module, e.g., including the brightness slider. The other installation reverted to the Lightroom 3 panel, and I can't find a preference that affects this.
I want to take advantage of a FULL SCREEN to see my images. However, the panel with all the controls takes up about 1/6 of the real estate.I know the panel can be auto hidden, but I hate that workflow.
I would love to put the panel on a separate monitor leaving just the image full screen on the other.
When editing video, the only panel that appears at right hand side is the the one silimar to the developing of still shots. But of course, it is greyed out, thus preventing its use when editing video.
I just purchased Lightroom 5.2 and am trying to edit without success. In the Develop panel, I can see and use any of the edit adjustments/sliders on the right. The edits are visible in the small photo in the filmstrip area at the bottom of the page but no changes occur to the main screen image as they are applied. Behavior is the same regardless of file type (.jpg or .NEF).
The photos will accept edits in the Library panel (quick edits) and apply/display them to the main screen image.
I am using Lightroom 5. In the Develop mode, is there a way to add a metadata item to a panel. I shoot with several cameras and the way I process an image depends on the camera I used. I would like to add the "Camera Model" to the Histogram panel just under the ISO, Lens length, f stop, and shutter speed. Now I must flip back and forth between Library and Develop to get the information.
I recenlty upgraded from Lightroom 3 to Lightroom 5.3 with no problems. However, now after 3 weeks of use, my entire 'basic' panel in Develop has disappeared. I no longer have Wb tool, or any sliders for temp, tint, exposure, black, white, shadows, clarity, etc. If I am going to lose a panel, I don't want it to be this one!
I was editing a photo in Lightroom 5 the other day, and I thought I hit something, but all of a sudden the basic panel was missing. Suggestion was to right click on one of the panels and it should have an option that says basic, in order to get the basic panel back. That is what I did, but what it does is just opens and closes the panels. I don't know how to get my basic panel back.
When I run a preset that I made in LR3.6, the develop Basic panel reverts to the LR3 version. Clicking on "Reset" restores the LR4 version, but undoes what the preset was supposed to do, of course.
I just updated Lightroom to version 3.4 and now I can not find the folders panel in the Develop module. It's in the Library module but not in the Develop module. There is not even a right click option for a folders panel under the Develop module. What happened???
My develop module is not fully opening. The only items it is allowing me to edit is lens profile correction, vignetting. How to restore the full develop module starting with temperature, contrast, blacks, whites, shadows, etc., all the way down the whole module.
Just downloaded LR4.1 trial version (upgrading from LR3 to work with raw Canon 5DM3 images) and am unable to use Develop mode. When I select a photo in Library and go to Develop it just says "no photo selected".
Suddenly when a raw image has been porcessed by the Develop Module the (ctrl-E) 'open in Photoshop' command does not work for that image. It works for images that have not been 'developed'. I have deleted LR preferences several times.
Using Autocad 2011. If I pick an object, any object, in an old drawing, or newly created drawing, I cannot change it's color in the Quick Properties dialog box. "Color" is grayed out, and not selectable. I can change it via the pulldown in the Layer Manager on my toolbar, but not in the Quick Properties dialog. This just started happening.
I found that photoshop has onion-skinning for animation in photoshop. The problem is, is that I don't know how to open it up it's greyed out when I open the timeline panel and when I switch to frame-by-frame animation its gone. I don't know how to enable it.
The main develop module controls have disappeared from the develop window. How do I recover them? I'm working with Lightroom 5.3. The missing controls are the sliders for exposure, contrast, clarity, etc. I must have inadvertantly clicked something that made them disappear but nothing I've tried brings them back. I've never had this experience in the years I've been using Lightroom (since version 1.1).
