Lightroom :: Change Quick Develop Exposure Increments?

Jul 5, 2013

I want to increase the exposure of a batch of photos by one quarter of a stop. The Quick Develop module seems to allow only one third increments. Can I change this? The Sync function matches absolute exposure.  So apparently do all the presets.I see that there is a third party plug in that may do this, but is there no way to do it in Lightroom 4?

Lightroom :: Library Module - Quick Develop Panel

Jan 12, 2012

I was really hoping that the Quick Develop panel in the Library Module which I sometimes use if there are minor touchups needed to a photo would have been redesigned to more closely resemble and work like the Basic panel in the Develop Module.  Certainly sliders instead of those arrow buttons would be a very useful change.

Why this wasn't changed?

Lightroom :: Quick Develop Module Doesn't Show With Cursor Movement?

Nov 15, 2011

Somehow, the little triangle that opens and closes the Quick Develop Module in my Library has become solid, so it no longer pops the menu open when I glide my cursor over to the right side of a full screen image. How do I get the Quick develop module triangle to have that shadow look again so that when I glide the cursor to it the module opens.

I must have changed this with a keystroke or something but for the life of me I cannot get it back and it's driving me crazy. I do not like the module open all the time and it's a pain to use the keystroke or click the triangle each time I need to make a quick adjustment. I hope this is not an upgrade change. I notice it is the same in my develop module.

Is it the operating system or the buggy lightroom ? I did try 4.2 as well with no successful results.

Lightroom :: Crop In Develop Is Not Showing The Change?

Oct 8, 2012

In the past, I have been changing my default image size to a 2:3 format by selecting it from the drop down list while in the Develop module or by pressing R. After adjusting the image, it used to display 2:3 under the lock, but now it is going back to AS SHOT.

I am using a Windows 7 machine with LR 4.2.

I like knowing I have a custom crop ratio, but have no idea if it is being applied by looking at images in LR.

Lightroom :: Change Copy Name In Develop Module?

Sep 9, 2012

Is there a way to change the "copy name" of an image (a virtual copy) in the Develop module?

Usually, I press ctrl-' to make a virtual copy to change the crop ratio (say to 5x7).  I would like to be able to change the "copy name" of that image to "5x7" or something else so I know the purpose of that virtual copy.  Can this be done in the Develop module when I press ctrl-'?  Right now, I am going back to Library and then opening the Metadata panel to edit the "copy name", which becomes a task with too many steps.

VideoStudio :: Change Speed In Smaller Increments?

Jul 23, 2008

I have used many different video editing packages and really like videostudio. The high quality output and many features make it a solid product.

However, I am confused why there is no way to change the speed of an audio or video clip in smaller than 1% increments. 1% is a very large increment, even when dealing with a 3 minute clip. An exact sync is near-impossible. .1% would be a great deal better.

I see in the 'change speed' dialog that you can also choose the clip duration, down to 10ths of seconds. But when I do this it seems to 'snap' to the nearest percent.

Is there no way to change the speed in smaller increments than 1% or am I missing something?

Lightroom :: How To Calculate Exposure

Sep 4, 2013

Why when Lightroom loads images (in develop module), all images turns gray and dark (the preview looks fine - expected exposure and full of colour). All settings are on 0, no auto tuning or presets are applied.

Also, when I take pictures (Nikon D4), they looks fine in my back screen and I would guess D4 knows how to calculate exposure. But in Lightroom they all come out at least 1 full stop unexposed, so after adjusting exposure I got unnecessary noise grain (and work).

I even tried to upload thought Nikon View NX (soft for Nikon transfers) first, as I was hoping that after importing files to Lightrooms I will also get camera colour settings (like Landscape, Portrait, Vivid, etc.).

This is screenshoot - when Lightroom loads/process all images they all turn so dark as selected image. Neighboring sunflowers all were the same, and they was as I expected them to be.. Before they turn dark...

Lightroom :: How To Increase Exposure By 1 Or 2 F-stops For HDR

Mar 21, 2013

My goal is to:

1) Take an existing picture.

2) Make two more copies of it.

3) Alter the exposure compensation of the copies by either exactly 1 or 2 stops up or down as needed.

4) Merge those shots to form a quasi-HDR composite image.

When I open the master/source picture in Lightroom, how do I change the exposure by exactly one or two stops leaving all of the other settings untouched?

Yes, I know the master exposure slider goes up to 5.00, but what exactly do those values mean if anything in direct correlation to f-stop's? Is it accurate? how changing the exposure is executed.

Lightroom :: Determine ADL Exposure Variation?

Dec 26, 2011

As most of you probably know, Lightroom cannot properly deal with Nikon's Active Delighting -- it just "ignores" the information, whereas vendor specific software interprets that information. Since vendor specific information can later on redo the ADL development process which usually happens inside the camera the necessary information must somewhere be preserved.

Most metadata-editors know settings like ADL off, moderate, high, etc. But that cannot be all there is. I noticed that my D7000 varies the under-exposure (1/3 EV -> 1 EV) in the same ADL-setting. What I'm looking for is exactly that amount of under-exposure (or a value from which I can derive that).
