When you "x" out of the exit dialog, it should return to LR because you are telling it you've changed your mind, and would rather not exit. Instead it exits anyway. If this is "as designed", they should reconsider. The standard throughout my desktop and other apps appears to be that if you x out of a window, it undoes everything.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using Inventor Product Design Suite 2012. When I try to exit Inventor 2012 it just hangs there indefinitely every time. I have to use task manager to shut down Inventor. It doesn't matter if I use Inventor during that session or not. It was installed with all default settings and most current patches installed. It was also installed with administrator privledges and UAC turned off. This ia a clean install on a new hard disk drive.
The AutoCAD products in the bundle will hang sometimes on exit if plotting was the last command in that session.
My system is:
HP XW 8400
Dual Zeon 3.0 GHz CPU's
4 GB Ram
NVidia Quadro FX1800 Graphics Card
Windows 7 Professional with all current updates
All drivers are current
There are no anti virus software packages on this system. The hard drive still has 120 GB free space.
My cat walked on my keyboard and now every time I edit a photo I'm asked if I want to save it as a proof. How do I get out of this mode?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI imported 6 new photos into LR3 just now - worked on them and then did a backup before exiting. I gave it a NEW name upon export, obviously.
To my horror I found that LR had backed up these new 6 photos into a PREVIOUS catalogue - with the previous catalogue's name as well. I now have 6 new photos which have replaced the 300 or so that were in the previous catalogue. They have all disappeared. How on earth did this happen?
I have entered Template Browser in LR4 and I am unable to exit it so that I can resume printing A4 size photo's.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Flickr and 500px set up in Publish Services of Lightroom 5.2. I can send photos to both sites OK. The "problem" is once I move from the "Flickr" highlighted bar to 500px both Bars are illuminated. The Flickr bar does not seem to release focus and I can no longer return to the Flickr Grid view. However, if I then double click the Flickr Bar and enter "Edit photoset" then add, say, a "space" to the Photoset name, press edit then the focus is released and the "Grid View" will return when I next click on the Flickr Bar.

View 6 Replies View Relatedis there any way to prevent lightroom 4 to apply auto settings to the image after it is returned from treatment in a plugin? Typically, I would launch SFX or other plugins from LR4 by specifying "submit a copy of the image with LR adjustments". When finished, the result image is returned to LR4 and auto settings are applied to it, as if it was freshly imported. This is very annoying. I have every time to reset all settings manually (exposure, whites, blacks, etc) one by one. Is there a way to treat plugin returns differently from importing images from a disk/card?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just got Photoshop CS3. It installed and runs fine on my HP desktop (Intel Q6600, 3 GB ram) PC with Vista Home Premium.
Then I tried to install CS3 this afternoon on my Dell notebook, also with Vista Home Premium. At the end of installation process, it indicated CS3 was not correcdtly installed. Fianlly after trying and
uninstalling several times, I disabled the McAfee Security Center and CS3 installed correctly and ran and I edited several test photos.
Then when I went to exit CS3 on the notebook, the pallets disappeared, the
Photoshop borders and menus stayed on screen and then nothing happened.
Vista busy icon just twirled and twirled. After several minutes,
I opened Task Manager and it said 'Photoshop not responding'. I shut it down with Task Manager. Rebooting laptop does not help the problem.
Then I disabled McAfee Security Center, ran Photoshop CS3 and it still hung uip on exit.
why the program will not exit?

I downloaded LR 5.3 and LR 5.3 starts now every time and ask the registration questions. I always have to fill the dialog. What could I do? LR 5.2 worked fine.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've used Lightroom 5.2 RC for a few weeks and successfully imported a few times. This morning, however, the dialog will not come up and the program hangs until I kill it in Task Manager. This is in Windows 8 64-bit.
I've tried removing the memory card, and all other USB-connected devices, but it still hangs. I'm a developer and can supply crash dumps if necessary.
When i am clicking rmb and choose edit in cs6 there is no export dialog like i had before ( export with lightroom settings, copy or original). My cr2 opening in cs without changes i made in LR ?

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen working on an animation project our company has faced a strange problem. When switching from one network task to another 3dsmax is closed with an error, as shown in the screenshot. Since there are a lot of tasks, a number of such messages grows frightening.
Trying to get outside of a problem, we have tried all the combinations that came about. Backburner 2008 and 2012, 3dsmax 2012 with the service pack and without it, different versions of Vray, various workstations with Windows 7 and Windows 7 SP1, to no avail. As it turned out, the problem is not in the network rendering, but in the file itself.
There were no problems noticed when working with the file, but when one closes 3dsmax, there’s an error message again. Even if we clear the scene from objects, materials, and settings completely - the error remains. But most of all we were surprised by the fact that the saved cleared scene weights 86016 bytes, but an absolutely empty scene, saved right after the program was opened, takes 73729 bytes.
I was trying to rotate an image, and after successfully doing so, now I can't exit out of the rotate tool. The layer keeps saying (Transformation). How do I get out of this mode? I want to start duplicating this image and rotating them to different positions, but I need to learn how to get out of this mode.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am SO TIRED of having to unplug every single peripheral device attached to my computer before opening the Import dialog box in Lightroom to keep it from taking forever to access local drives due to auto scanning!
Why can we not turn that OFF in preferences? Why is it on in the first place? Lightroom should not scan a folder to generate thumbnails in the Import dialog box until a Source folder is manually specified! In fact, you should be able to Import without any thumbnails in the view at all if you choose.
Any way to force Lightroom to behave this way?
I have struggled with various settings of the Interface under Preferences, but the import dialog in Lightroom 3.* is so dark/low contrast as to be almost invisible. I have to really strain to read it.
The "dim level" control doesn't work nor does using "light grey" or "white" backhground. I'm using pretty common, calibrated monitors and the problem is not just on one computer.
What could be the reason that the dialog "visualize spots", which usually appears under the images after clicking the healing brush option, does not show up in LR5?? I have re-installed LR5 on my iMac but that did not work. After installing LR5 on my MacBook Air the dialog was there! How can this be? Are there any special settings which I have not considered yet?I know the shortcut is "A" and this one works, but then I have no slider.

It seems like this problem started after I began running my lightroom catalog from my Drobo, but I'm not sure if that is related as well. When I bring up a Browse for Files or Folders dialog box, for example when chosing where to export or import images, nothing shows up in there except for my user name and folders that are inside there such as documents, pictures, music etc. My drives and folders do not show up at all. If the location I want to import or export to is in the list of previous locations, for example e:pictures then I can still use that location. But if I wanted to pick that location from the browse dialog there is no way to do so. I need to export some photos to a CD, I can't select the drive. I attached an image to make my problem more clear.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just installed Lightroom 5 and the import dialog box is not showing the previews of the images. Without the previews, there are no images to select for importing. It doesn't matter if they are JPG or CR2 and if I try to import from the camera card or hard drive. Version 4.4 also failed at first but after hacking away, I finally got the older version to work.
I am using Lightroom 5, Windows 7 64 bit.
this error seems to make the dialog menu bigger.
i wonder if it is only me who has this or if the betatester only look at the english version.
i mean... it is so obvious it can´t go unoticed....
When deleting photos I used to get a dialogue asking if I wanted to delete from catalog only or from disc as well. This dialogue has suddenly stopped appearing - very frustrating as deleting now only removes photo from the catalog. Clearly I will often want to get rid of the photo from disc to avoid clutter.

In the normal gridview it is possible to change to a lot of diffrent info so it would be great if I could do the same thing in gridview in import dialog.
The info is there since I can hover to se the date but it would be a lot faster if it could be visible directly.
When importing files from a compact flash card (Windows 7, Lightroom 3 final) my "move" option is greyed out, and so I can only copy or add the files during the import. I want to move them so they are deleted from my CF card after the import

After watching Jared Platt's creativelive course, I started creating my PSD's by exporting them in bulk, adding them back into the catalog and stacking them on top of the original raw files. After updating to LR 4.2 I don't see the option in the export dialog any more.
