Nov 4, 2013Trying to import D800E raw files from a CF into Lightroom 4, "no photos found" is the message. Images can be seen in camera so I know they are there. LR version is up to date. Raw Plug-In version is up to date. I can import D4 raw files from CF so not sure what the hangup is.

Dec 3, 2012I took D700 and D800e with me and planned on saving to portable HDs. I/3 of files could not be saved in LR4, they had ? on each 'slide' location. I bought Nikon NX2 and images came off CF cards fine and were saved to HD. But, when tried to load those files to LR4, the same thing happened... "?" all over again.
3-4 new Lexar Pro CFs and 2 different cameras... Whats up?
Lightroom :: Get NEF Files Made On Nikon D800E To Import To 4.4
May 26, 2013I am trying to get a NEF files made on a Nikon D800E to Import to Lightroom 4.4 with Camera raw 7.4. I get an error that states the following files were not imported because they could not be read.
I can import them to Photoshop CS6 and use them in photoshop but cannot find any way to get them into Lightroom. For a while my photos were partially importing and some NEF files werent on the first few tries (but subsequently did). I have updated LR, updated Camera RAW, updated the MAC operating system, and have a newer version of PS (CS6). I have tried from the camera directly and through a card reader with multiple cards but nothing works.

Dec 20, 2012This discussion is actually a follow on to an earlier one where I thought the issue was resolved. I am using CS5 extended 64 bit with WIN 7 64bit and ACR version 6.7.
I verified the ACR version checking for updates and was informed I am up to date. According to the ADOBE site ACR v 6.7 is available to open Nikon D800e raw files. However when I try and open these raw files there is a message that the camera model is not supported.

Jun 17, 2012I'm finding that the corners of the D800E nef files have focus problems that are not apparent with NX2 and CaptureOne files. I have tried this with both the lens profile on and off, also the colors are over saturated even with the sliders set at 0. The NX2 and CaptureOne files appear almost identical, while there is a great difference in the ACR 7.1 files that can come close to being correctable but not quite.

Mar 3, 2013Just installed Lightroom 4, more than 60000 images were imported. Many of them were duplicates, triplets and so on. I want to have a clean, unincombured library. Should I delete the 60000 images and reinstall the images from my photo digital cards or use the slow process of "X" out the unwanted images? Dec 3, 2012I've been having problems selecting images in the library module when multiple images are in view (not down in the timeline, but in the main window). It seems sporadic with which ones it won't let me select, it somehow manages to be the ones that I need to click....!! I just literally can't click it as if it were an image I already imported or something, but it's not grayed out like that. I've been having to select a nearby image then use my arrow keys to navigate to and click the image I need.

Jul 18, 2012In Lightroom 4.1 when rating (flags, stars or colors) a selected group of images all images selected will have the same flag applied. For instance if I select 10 images to view in the survey mode to compare and select 1 to be flagged as rejected all 10 will be flagged rejected, not just the one. Is there a way to turn this off to select a group of images and flag each differently?

Nov 19, 2013I've watched all of the tutorials and read all I can to get to the bottom of this to no avail. I understand that I need to use the foilders panel in the library module to move photos, my problem is that the folder module does not show any destination folders at all!
When I import my images I create a job and place the images in a subfolder named Raw Files eg. 2013 Jobs > 075 Robert and Jess E-Shoot > Raw Files
This way all of my images are in a folder that is job related. Occasionally, however, I will forget to change the import folder when importing the Raws, and the images for the next job will go into the Raw folder for the previous job. I'd like to be able to move the raw images to the correct folder, but in the folder panel the only path showing is the path I've imported to.
In the case above, my 2013 Jobs file should show 75 subfolders of individual jobs, but there is only one showing. I need to be able to see the destination folder in lightroom to move the Raws to their proper home. As I can't see the destination folder I can't move any files, and I end up having to try to work it out in the operating system.

May 26, 2013Have folders on desktop, images are in them. In import module, LR says the folders are empty and I can not import them. I recently had hard disc problem, have new disc, latest version Mac OS, restored all images from backup LR sees images that were imported before the disc replacement but now won't see new folders.

Nov 17, 2013I have downloaded LR5 Upgrade onto my PC (Windows 7). The LR5 new features work. So far the program is working as expected, except that when an image is deleted using LR5, the image disappears from LR5 and appears in the recycle bin as it should, but it does not disappear from my Canon DPP program. LR3 is still on the computer and when an image was deleted using LR3, it always disappeared from both LR3 and Canon DPP. Why won't a deletion with LR5 take the image out of Canon DPP ?

Sep 5, 2012I have the preference set to keep 1:1 cache files for 30 days, and the max cache size is set to 30gb. The cache file has never yet approached this size. I've gone through the trouble of having LR work in the background to create previews for whole collections. After this process, performance is as snappy as I'd expect; images load immediately and there's no more than a one second lag when zooming in to 1:1. But hours or days later, on the same collections, when there has been no change made to the files, everything slows down. The wheels spin as LR loads each image preview, even at reduced fit-to-screen size. Processor utilization zooms to near 100% during these loads, so it seems LR is rendering the views all over again.
What happened to my cached previews?
Running a mac pro, 8 core xeon 2.8ghz, 18gb ram, 3tb 7200rpm data drive that's about 10% full.
The delay happens when in develop mode. In Library mode the pre-made previews are available and load instantly. Is this just the way things are?
