My workflow includes renaming images based on capture date and country ISO code in 3 letter format. (see: http:[url].....
When importing files with geodata my "country" metadata is filled in 2 letter format. Is trere a way to chenge this in Lightroom 5? I would like to avoid renaming my old files.
1. If you import an image with GPS data, Lightroom 4 will add appropriate values for Sublocation, City, State/Province, Country and Country Code. Is there a way to add this data to existing files while retaining history?
You can write metadata to files ([Ctrl][S]), remove those files from Lightroom and then synch folder to reimport them. That reimports them with all modified settings but without their history.
2. Is a google map link available for a GPS location of a photograph?
In Lightroom 3, you could click on the GPS location and that took you to a Google map page with a specific web link that you could then publish, eg on a blog. You can copy and paste the GPS location into a Google map page but that does not give you a web link you can use.
3. Is there a way of publishing a map?
Is there (or will there be) any way of exporting a map page, say as a jpeg?Is it OK to take a screen dump of a map page and publish it, eg in a blog?

For example I have a map in Ai and then I outline it in pen. Now how can I fill each state without having to trace each individual state in pen..because when I do this the state lines overlap and look bad. Like if I trace Washington and Oregon, the borders overlap unless I just trace the border line once in pen...but then I cannot fill the states because they are not separate polygons but a continuous line.How can I fill the states if they are not selectable polygons??

I created a template using ANZ as the base template. Now I have a requirement to change the country kit to UK. What all the things I need to change in the template to use the UK country kit.
Also when users using my template on a machine which don't have ANZ country kit installed, they getting error messages such as missing SHP files, Payload item not found.

Even so, it does export the photo to the right directory.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm going to try this again. Using PS CC for photographers, that is Photoshop CC and Lightroom 5.x, new iMac running Mavericks.
Having processed an image in LR and PS, and saved as TIFF back to LR. All is well.
If and when I subsequently take the TIFF back into PS for further tweaks and again save as TIFF back to LR, replacing the original TIFF, I then get the Metadata Conflict warning, the exclamation mark.
As far as metadata goes, I don't want to lose what I did in LR....that is, keywords, color codes, captions, gps data, etc. I do want to retain the additional adjustments I made in PS.
I've noticed that when I choose to 'import settings from disc' that the color code disappears and I have to re-do it.
If I select the 'overwrite with LR settings' option, my concern is that I lose those PS adjustments.
My questions is: WHAT settings could have been changed in my round trip to PS that trigger the warning?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am creating a photobook using Lightroom (Version 4.3). I am using individual backgrounds which I have designed in Adobe Illustrator. I have exported the files from Illustrator as jpg. I have the following questions:
1) There are two presets for backgrounds in Lightroom (Travel and Wedding). Can I add my own backgrounds to a separate preset?
2) From time to time I have a problem exporting the photobook as a pdf or transfer it to blurb. When I remove my individualized backgrounds there is no problem with the export function. Has this issue something to do with my backgrounds. Should I use a different format (other than jpg) for the background?
I had 9875 photos that I wanted to convert to the latest DNG format and also include lossless compression and embed fast load information.
I marked all photos and selected 'Convert photos to DNG' from the library menu.
Days went by and the convertion worked almost perfectly.
30 photos can not be converted but Lightroom does not tell me why. Some photos are copies of others and the originals has been converted without problems.
We are thinking about switching over to Lightroom, but 95% of our 60,000 images are EPS files. I recently used a trial version and it didn't seem to recognize my EPS files. Is there a way for Lightroom to acknowledge these files? Is there a plugin to download and try?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI had recently upgraded to LR 4 and 4.1.Later my (5 year old) computer quit working for various reasons and I replaced it with a new one.In order to get LR running again, I reinstalled it and hooked up with my catalog with the old preview folders .Now, I realize that the default location for the catalog and previews is a Lightroom 4 folder and now a previews.db.
How can I get my working catalog converted to the LR 4 format and location.I do not remember LR 4 or 4.1 asking me if I wanted to convert and asking me where the old catalog was.Or, do I import the old catalog as <a catalog> ?
LR 3 doesn't recognize the raw format of Nikon D7000.

However. when I go to class we use Mac computers and I have no issues importing. We reformatting our external hard drives the first day of class so we could use them on both PCs and Macs. Not sure if its my computer not able to read the RAW format or what.

When printing a large sheet (30"x42") with images in it to a PDF the images do not appear in the newly created PDF. However, if the same file is printed to fit an 11x17 the images display correctly.
