Paint.NET :: How To Create Wide Screen Format Wallpapers
May 11, 2011I just joined and this is my first post. Actually I have not even downloaded the Paint.net program yet - have to wait till I get home from the office. Thought I would ask if the program is pretty user friendly for creating wallpapers, and if there is a "template" for it. I will want to create some "wide-screen" format wallpapers, so wondering what dimensions those usually are - should I assume that is determined by the actual dimensions of my monitor??? Free -floating questions from a newbie..!!!

When I start up PSE11 and go to print I set up the paper size then select a Printer Profile. When print the image it is a mess and seem to be black and white it is as if I printed on the wrong side of the paper.
I then go and try to print it again. Now it all works as it should beutiful colours and spot on. all other print following this works.
Then I shut down PSE11. Start it up again. Guess what first print is a mess again. all others after are fine.
I uninstalled PSE11, deleted prefs. and reinstalled PSE11. Same thing.. first print a mess all others ok.
no problems with PSE10 or PSE9.

What is the best color depth (8/16/32 bits/channel) for this roll-up banner when working on 100% of the original size: 1260x2120 mm? Other tips and tricks for future designs concerning color depth?

I had hopes that Paint .NET would do it since it seems to support 64 bit. The file I'm trying to edit is 1.7GB uncompressed tiff. Unfortunately, Paint seems to take forever to load (5-10 minutes), even when I have at least that much available memory on my 4GB Win7-64 machine. Are there any tips to conserve memory or to make this possible?

May 28, 2012This was exported to tif and sent to the printer, the glow is a white outer glow.
As I usually do I exported the whole thing to a TIF and low and behold black lines in the print.
This was the bullet proof way of getting what you saw on the screen to hadcopy but sadly no more.
Can this be addressed in SP1, as it puts a serious hole in all the signies bag of tricks for that matter any body who wants to output special EFX from Corel.

AutoCAD Architecture :: Images Not Appearing In Large Format PDF (small Format Okay)
Sep 13, 2012We have a computer that using AutoCAD Architecture 2013 and Acrobat 9 Standard. When printing a large sheet (30"x42") with images in it to a PDF the images do not appear in the newly created PDF. However, if the same file is printed to fit an 11x17 the images display correctly. Any thoughts as to why the large sheet size is not printing properly?

May 25, 2012Have been running the trial version of Lightroom 3.6 for the past three weeks. I see that it cannot handle or display PNG format, of which I have over 11,000 images. PNG is my primary WORKING format for single layer images due to its lossless compression, support for EXIF data, and transparency later. Lightroom creates tens of thousands of tiny folders and catalog files that are difficult to defragment and greatly complicate my routine backups. I must comment that Adobe filters, especially Noise Reduction are really great but the lack of PNG support is a show stopper.
Also ran Lightroom Synchronize to add recent photos to the Canon folder and for some reason it changed the date stamp on over 3 GB of photos to the present day. When I went about a routine backup of the photos, the backup software wanted to completely overwright all the files with TODAYS date on the MyBook drive!! What? no way. So now I must RESTORE all these files BACK to the original date stamps. This is way over the top. Plus Lightroom is very slow to complete the Sync task, and might even take two passes.

Aug 4, 2012I almost always work in Picas; and I just started using CS6, so I've just discovered that Illustrator CS6 has an annoying habit of occasionally — not always— deciding to display Pica units incorrectly. The only common factor is that it's always a whole Pica value, and the last whole Pica is displayed in Points. For example, 5.5 inches should be displayed as 33p0; but sometimes — again, not always — Illustrator CS6 will choose to display that as 32p12.
Well, first of all, anything-"p12" is just wrong. It's anything+1"p0," dammit.
Secondly, even if there was some insane rationale for displaying "p12,"

I marked all photos and selected 'Convert photos to DNG' from the library menu.
Days went by and the convertion worked almost perfectly.
30 photos can not be converted but Lightroom does not tell me why. Some photos are copies of others and the originals has been converted without problems.

However. when I go to class we use Mac computers and I have no issues importing. We reformatting our external hard drives the first day of class so we could use them on both PCs and Macs.
