I'm going through older photos that were edited elsewhere and then added to my catalogue as DNGs while I was using Lightroom 4. Now as I go back, they are not loading correctly with my edits, but they were on Lightroom 4. Did something happen during the upgrade? Or is there a way to get them to register my edits?

There are bird images taken several years ago that lack keywords but when I bring them up now I also have the keywords from that time which are quite inadequate today. Is there a way in which I can apply my current keyword listings to older images, i.e., change the old keyword folder for my current one?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen LR4.x sees an older image it shows me the exclamation mark. OK, yes I will be updating... so the next step is a side by side. I could skip this, but it can be interesting to see where the subtle differeces will be. I know about the backslash key as a way to close the side-by-side. Up to today it always closed the *old* (2010) version and I sailed off into whatever editing was needed.

Today the backslash is always placing me in the older version "Before".as if I chosen "do not update"? ...but I *did* click "Update".My LR4 book (M. Evening). which I generally like, was written before the interface got locked down as there are some inconsistencies even with 4.0, so looking there I find nothing that works on this exact flow of events.

What am I doing "wrong" for the 4.3 interface. Hmmm, I just updated from 4.2 and that's when LR started leaving me in the old process.
My images won't always sync. Basically I loaded images into Lightroom 4.1 using the auto tone feature. What I'm attempting to do is simply copy my settings from one image with exposure and contrast both set to "0" then syncing them to the rest of my images. (700+) I like the auto tone for sahdows/highlights, and white/blacks, obviously the exposure has been the issue with auto tone. However I find when i can start with my exposure and contrast at 0 this gives me a great starting point. But it won't sync all of them.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been successfully using Lightroom 4 for several weeks (and the Beta version before that), but today, after downloading the Nik Software Viveza plug in, when I tried to open LR, none of my images were there, and when I clicked on a module, I received an error message saying there was an error trying to change modules. Not sure what to do. I've uninstalled Viveza, but that did not fix the problem. I've rebooted many time, that also didn't solve this issue. I also tried opening a backup from yesterday, but that doesn't work either. I use a MacBook Pro and am running Lion.

My D800 images are not correctly exported to disk. After some images exported the rest of the selected images are deleted on the disk after exportation.
View 20 Replies View RelatedOne of our Autocad Map 3D 2011 users is having the problem that custom fonts aren't automatically loading anymore, and when they use a command that draws a line with a custom linetype it is always drawn as continuous. This is a recent problem and the fonts used to load automatically as well as the linetypes drawn correctly. It isn't a problem with the linetypes not being loaded in the drawing because after using the custom command they are able to go to the layer and change the linetype to the correct one fixing the problem.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to Snow Leopard and Creative Suite CS5, Adobe Illustrator CS 15.1.0. I'm using Suitcase Fusion 4 ver. 15.0.5 (latest version). I'm having a problem with 2 of my fonts loading correctly in illustrator's Character pallet. They display like a missing fonts in the character pallet as shown in my screen shot with "less than" characters around them: < Carta >, , < ITC Zapf Dingbats > These fonts and files do not give me warnings for missing fonts. The files print and rip correctly. The font displays correctly in illustrator when I use them in a layout (as shown on pic). They also display correctly and are fine in all other applications: Quark, InDesign, Photoshop etc. My fonts are setup correctly, pared down system fonts, other user folders emtpy etc. I have font nuked with Suitcase, Font Nuke and did a safe start up to clear font caches. several times. I've also removed these fonts from suitcase and loaded them in my system folder to see if that fixed it. These fonts are used 1,000's of pages/files so replacing them with another verion isn't really an option.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI am trying to build a web gallery so as I can build a collage from a Word file, which has 450 photos in it
So far I have:
Stored all images in a Word document
Saved them as a web page layout
Opened a Photoshop document
Gone to automate, web page gallery
Selected as source the folder with the images
Selected as destination another folder (same drive)
Hit OK and Photoshop tells me “None of the source files can be opened by Photoshop”
As I have done this procedure before (using the same images) and it worked I can’t understand why it won’t have it now?

I have seen some websites load the whole image first - but at first it is fuzzy, then it gets more and more detailed.
Other websites (including mine) loads them line by line... so it scrolls down slowly.
Both websites use jpegs.
Is this a setting in apache, or is it to do with the jpeg format, or is it a thing that can be achieved with javascript, or even php?
my copy of Photoshop can't do it right. Specifically, I'm using CS4, but I have a feeling that doesn't matter.
Step 1 - Create a new file that is 4 pixels wide by 4 pixels tall. (Use basic options: 72 pixels/inch, RGB Color, Square Pixels, etc.)

Step 3 - In the menu, go to "Image" > "Image Size..." and increase the width and height of the image to 400 pixels using "Nearest Neighbor".

So we started with a 4x4 image, and now we have a 400x400 image. The math here isn't too difficult: 4 x 100 = 400. So each of our red dots in the corners should now be 100x100 pixels each. Simple enough, right?

Unfortunately, this was not the case for me. The red dot in the upper-left corner is now 97x97 pixels. The red dot in the upper-right corner is now 103x97 pixels. The red dot in the lower-left corner is now 97x103 pixels. And the red dot in the lower-right corner is now 103x103 pixels.

I guess Photoshop seems to think that both of the following statements are simultaneously true:
1 x 100 = 97
1 x 100 = 103
I have been using Paint.NET on my laptop for a really long time, I just installed it on my desktop and I am having a problem with resizing. Every image I resize the image gets all distorted around the edges, high and low resolution images! If I take the same image and resize it on my laptop it looks prefect but if I resize it on my desktop it looks horrible!
For example on the image I attached, I shrunk the Pinterest P I use often, as you can see one looks great (laptop version), the other not so much (desktop)!
I have used the 30 day LR5 trial and I don't love it and prefer LR3 that I have been using for the past few years. I've created some libraries though, and want to know how I can view them if I return to using LR3 after the trial.

I didn't import the images to Lightroom, rather, I referenced them on my HD.

Do I need to export them as an older version? Or save the images in another format?
The installation of Lightroom 4.3 stops with an error message, reading "The older version of Adobe Lightroom 4.3 cannot be removed. Apply to your technical support group".This "older version" is probably a trial version, I had before, which I had to uninstall "by hand" (cancelling files and registry items) since a regular uninstall procedure didn't work.

View 8 Replies View Relatedproblem with loading large numbers of images, not large images, but a lot of images in VS11. I am loading a lot of images to make my annual slide show for the HS band and I am running into a problem where the images start loading quickly (1 second each) and after about 150-200 images you start to load slower and slower as much as 70 seconds on image #300). I don't remember having this issue with VS9, which is what I used last year.
I tried loading the same thing in VS10 and it is much better on the load. There is a recognizable slow down, but nothing like VS11. Before you ask, I would be fine with doing the slide show in VS10, but running in Vista VS10 crashes on me too much to get it done.
When I updated lightroom to 5.3 I did not update all the catalogs that were operating in 4.4 how do I update those catalogs.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI imported some photos to develop. I did not finish developing them and imported another set. Now I want to go back to that previous import to deveop and edit, but I can't find those photos. They are grayed out in the import and I can not import again, when I click on one of them it says they are already in the catalog, but I can't find them any where in light room. View 1 Replies View RelatedIf I have an image within in an XREF (lets say logo in a titleblock), when I open my drawing I get a image frame with the file path listed in its place. If I print, it only prints the frame and file path.
The way that this is fixed (temporarily) is If I reload the xref and image for each xref containing an image. Upon reopening the drawing, the same problem persists. I need to reload the xref/image every time I open the file if I want the logo to print on my drawing.
When electing in the preferences to not open image in Tabs. The images open with only about 25% of the image area showing. Forcing me to (command) 0 for full to screen preview or (command) +/- to see the image.

I am not talking about seeing the image at 100% resolution just the entire image within the floating window without having to command before view.

So to be clear when opening on the retina display it open with a full image preview. When opening on a second monitor either apple display with Thunderbolt or Eizo with HDMI it errors to this.

I have also tested this on a friends machine and his does not have the same problem with identical set-up.
Some of the images I have taken with my Olympus 7010 still camera, when opened up in PSPro X, are not showing correctly.A portion of the image is sectioned and the smaller part of the image has moved along horizontally, the effect being that for instance, a person's head is not on the body but further along the image. This only happens now and again but is annoying, the last time 2 out of 24 images were like this.They were loaded on to my pc via the camera's card,in a card reader.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I import CR2 files (Canon RAW) that have XMP files alongside them into my Lightroom 4 catalog, Lightroom correctly reads image adjustments from XMP files and assigns them as Develop settings for the newly imported photos. This is how I expected it to be. Lightroom assigns older process version to these files, as it should be.

One quick question I have though: once I imported all these CR2 files into my collection, is it safe to delete all those XMP sidecar files immediately? I assume that Lightroom stores all Develop settings in the catalog file at the moment of the import and that XMP sidecars are no longer necessary. Is that correct? Or do I have to enter the Develop mode with each imported file first, before deleting the XMP in order to make old settings to "stick"?
I've been using CS3. Without un-installing CS3, I installed CS6 actually both 64bit & 32bit. I had several problems when running. For example, images often were not completely visible after loading part of the image shown as transparent. I could duplicate the layer & all was ok, with both the new & original layers. This hasn't been a major problem, but is a nuisance & indicates that something is not right. Several features even cause "Photoshop CS6 has stopped working". I could always fall back to CS3 when a problem cropped up, altho' it was a pain having to save so often.

I deactivated CS6 and uninstalled (via Control Panel). I then re-installed, installed updates & re-activated . same problem when images load. I just re-installed, so I haven't had a chance to test other things.Â
I create or load an image it is always darker than it is actually supposed to be. When I go to save a created image, it will always be lighter. What I want to know is how to make the image on the screen the same color as when I save it to my computer.
Example: I was following a tutorial to create a banner and when I finished (without saving) it turned out like this. Now, the image from the tutorial is actually suppose to look like this when finished. Then, after I saved the image it looked like how it was suppose to look.
As I have done for years I shoot in RAW and use Nikon transfer to load images from the card to my laptop and external drive. AFter I sort the images by subject I import them to Lightroom for the final touches. Not so with Lightroom 4.2 and Nikon D600..Adobe says if yousue transfer than 4.2 will not recognize the files and too bad ...as a company they are going downhill..I hope they correct the problem so I can import the 1500 images into Lightroom for final conversions.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have added a few custom autocad commands that are specific to my scenario. I created Ribbon (and Menu for classic mode) for these commands and they are working fine. The only issue is that these Buttons (Ribbon and Menu for classic mode) are not loading the images(icons). All I get is a cloud image for both commands.
I have used 16X16 for small image and 32X32 for large image. Both are bmp files. These are attached to the custom  Autocad command that I am using. The commands themselves are working fine, except for the image which is not displayed. In short, what can be the possible reason for images not showing up?
