I need to check 200 pdf files before go to print,essentialy the size
So i wanna know if there are an easy way to measure the pdf file from the cut guides
using indd cs6 or Illustrator
What I mean:
Draw an ellipse. Skew it with mouse.
Draw a rectangle to allign with ellipse's outer dimension by Alignment Guides (not by Align and Distribute command).
Now the aligned side of the Rectangle must be tangent to the ellipse BUT it's not! To verify, try to search an intersection point. Draw a Guideline and snap it to the rectangle's aligned side. It must be intersection point between Guideline and Ellipse but there isn't...

I have a number of vertical and horizontal guides to be placed, at different points. Is there a better way of placement rather than zooming up on the ruler area, watching the Nav coordinates and dragging and dropping? I'm really looking for a method which will I can key in the actual placement coordinates in some way, and the guide will jump to this point?

I have imported an OAM file into the first page of an app I am making in InDesign. The OAM looks correct on load but once the animation begins it gets really big and all I see is a tiny portion of the animation.
I have other text and graphics on that page I was wondering if that could be the cause.
Is there a non-buggy way to convert an Indesign file into a word file?

I'd like to either "close" down the file my computer thinks is open or delete the file (I have good copy on an external hard drive).
View 4 Replies View RelatedEvery time I try to package out a file in InDesign its gets about 3/4s of the way through and then shows the "Cannot copy necessary font(s)" dialog box. I have read on certain discussions it may be a font issue. When I remove ALL fonts from my computer font library and use only preset Adobe fonts, Arial Regular for example, it works fine, then as soon as I use a font say, Helvetica Neue Light, I get the error. I have only recently upgraded to CC and all of the existing fonts in my library have always worked fine and never been a problem when packaging... However due to the tests with different fonts, it seems to be a font issue and not a links/filename issue like other people have had.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter converting footnotes to endnotes by means of PK's script the purpose is to replace notes in one language by another. It is a long document (600 endnotes).
Replacing the original endnotes (spanish) with the new file (english) destroys the original hyperlinks (superscript) references in the endnotes.
The new file that will replace the old endnotes is already isolated (and may be numbered) and has the same quantity.Could not insert sequenced hyperlinks codes or replace.
Im trying to download the blurb plug in and at the set up stage it asks me to locate the Application File for my Adobe InDesign CS5 in my files but i cant locate it how i can locate it?

Elaborating… i save an inx file from IndesignCS3 that is named george.inx, then i open that file in IndesignCS2, when i save that file from CS2 as indd it doesn't keep the name "george", its named untitled. I understand that the import file is a CSV versus XML, but since both can come out of Excel why would you choose one over the other.
I have been trying to export an interactive PDF file using InDesign CS6. It exports fine, and all the content works except for the Folio Overlays I created. I created two Folio Overlays (one Pan & Zoom and one Scrollable Frame). The overlays work if I preview them from the Folio Overlays panel, but they do not work on the PDF document.
I am using File >> Export... to create the PDF document, and I am sure the PDF document is of the interactive type and not the print type. Am I exporting it incorrectly? Is there a specific step that I have missed somewhere? Do I need to create a Folio Build to make the Folio Overlays work?
When I mouse over the Folio Overlays, I get the crosshair cursor which only selects part of the image when I click and drag it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy computer crashed with Indesign files open. I couldn't reopen the files, kept getting "files are in use" error message. I was able to recover the files by renaming them. Now I want to trash the corrupt files.
My question is how can I delete the corrupt Indesign file and it's IDLK file. All of our files are stored on a server here. I went to the server and it wouldn't let me delete them there.
Error message: The operation can't be completed because the item "file name" is in use.
I have found the perfect editable magazine template but it's an InDesign file.
Is it possible to open and edit this in Photoshop CS6. I would need to be able to drop in my own images and replace all the text without compromising the existing design, can this be done with my very basic skills?

Few things:
- I don't want to import all these into a table. I want all the info in a 3 text columns format that will run accros 150 pages (more or less)

So here's my problem. The article numbers are already filled in. And I have a .csv file with 3 different colums. Art.Number, StandardPrice, DaliPrice It looks like this:
So now i want to import only the prices from this file, because the article numbers are already filled in. If i try to import the .csv file through data merge --> create merged document i am not able to choose this field which i marked blue (dataset). I don't know why... maybe i have to format my csv file different?
And also if i try to show the preview it only takes the data from the first line in my csv file. So somehow i have to merge the fields from the csv file with the article number which is already in my indesign file.
All those fields who look like this------>
are from an plugin which is calls easy catalog... but i think i won't need this plugin... i am sure it's also possible with data merge.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an InDesign 5.0 (ver. 7.0.4) book file that I am updating and need to cut and paste text from a WordPerfect (X4) file into several chapters of my InDesign file. What is the best way to strip or "scrub" the WP formatting codes out so there's no chance of corrupting my .indd chapter files or the .indb book file? In the past I would cut it from WP, paste it into a new Windows Notepad document, then cut and paste it back into my .indd files. Someone told me that this does not actually scrub the file.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've placed a logo in my InDesign file that I saved out of Photoshop. It appear blurry when in InDesign and I do have it set to high image quality display so that isn't the issue. It is also set as CMYK and I haven't resized it after saving from Photoshop.
I tried saving a jpg so it would be crisper but then I have a white box behind it when placed in the InDesign file.I need to send it to print but can't let it go until I'm sure it won't print like a blurry mess.
i have a deadline approaching to create a brochure. I have been using illustrator to create my page designs using a combination of photography and vector work and was wondering if i select everything within the document and convert to cymk wether this has indeed converted everthing including the Photos. I was also wondering is it best to save my files as PDF's before importing into Indesign to reduce file size or will the quality be better if an ai. file? It is a 200 page brochure and i am the sole designer as an intern at a travel company
