Aug 28, 2012We are using AutoCAD Civil 3D Land Desktop Companion 2009 on all machines and one of our machines is getting the message "Error opening Point Database" and then gives the project file pathcogopoints.mdb.
It also gives the message "The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data." It is not opened by another user and permissions have been given for all machines to access these files.
Background information: We move older projects to an external hard drive for archiving and occasionally need to access them as the need arises. We have done this successfully for some time without issue, but now one of our machines is giving the above error. The other machine, which the external hard drive is connected, does not have this problem. We tried moving one project file back to the original location and it seemed to work okay, but another file did not. Some files were created using an older vrsion of AutoCAD, but that has not been a problem with opening them in the past. All sharing permissions to the external hard drive have been checked and seem to be working properly.

Feb 21, 2014My computer's power source failed and turned off while an Indesign CS5.5 file is open. Now trying to access the file, my computer (a mac) thinks it's still open. I'd like to either "close" down the file my computer thinks is open or delete the file (I have good copy on an external hard drive).

May 17, 2012Need to change the .ai file to something they can use in MS Publisher so they can still edit it.
I have tried everything and searched everything trough.. Can't figure out how to do it, or if it is even possible?
They wrote me this:
Normally when saving a program you also have the choice to import or export to a different document type, saving the original formats.
I need you to try and export the adobe files to MS Publisher format. We do not want to buy Adobe Illustrator. We do not want it used for creaing designs, logos etc as we need to be able to make changes at any time. PLease try exporting to MS Publisher.
Exporting the document should allow us to keep layout and formats without having to convert to eps and then import through an add on filter.
I would like the brochure and all art work done to date saved in this format.

Feb 8, 2014I am a CC member. I have Indesign on my mac note book and my PC desktop. There is a compatibility issue between them. The mac version appears to be still ver 8.0.2 while the PC version has upgraded to ver 9.2 and the mac wont open files from the PC. This sort of defeats the whole purpose of joining CC, which was compatibility between all our machines at work. When the mac CC version 9.2 of indesign will release and any work arounds. I know about saving as the idml thing but it is so clumsy. We want to be flicking the documnet back and forth.

Dec 10, 2003Hello all, i got a real bad problem with GIF saving in Photoshop : everytime i am saving a GIF file and then i import it in Publisher, i get an ugly white border around the object even though the object is perfectly cut using the pen tool.And i used every kind of settings available but no noticeable change.Also when i save in PNG the border gets a little smaller but it's still here.
So my question would be where does that come from, if it comes from photoshop then could you give me soome tips to get rif of it? Or is it just my publisher doc/impression settings?

Now I would like to submit the following question: I have made several attempts to get my Autocad drawings into Adobe InDesign, but the results are highly unsatisfying. I suppose that the EPS format is the right way to do it, but the results I get when I open the EPS files in InDesign are very poor (no sharp lines etc.)

This isn't a PDF that's been emailed or moved between computers, this is right after I export from InDesign on my home PC.

Jul 30, 2013I am an artist and have been asked to create 11 color drawings for a book. I created the drawings and scanned them to my iMac OS 10.8. I used cs4 to correct the color and crop the images. I saved the images in CMYK fomat and emailed them to the publisher. The publisher received the, is able to open the images and when they try to make any changes to the images they are not able to save the changes. I did make the images read and write, so they aren't protected.
My question is why are they not able to save the cropping changes they require?

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Publisher Doesn't Display
Mar 11, 2013My drawings contain active linework, civil 3D data (contours, etc.), and references.When a plot is executed without the publisher - everything appears normal. Specifically, all contours appear on plots and PDFs.
However, when plotting using the AutoCAD publisher (to batch many plots together, 70 or so plan sheets in 4 drawings) some Civil 3D data does not appear. Most contours are shown - however contours from a specific surface (existing ground surface) do not appear.
The publisher result is the same whether using a PDF driver or physical plot driver - these contours do not appear.
The style used to display the existing contours is used on other surfaces within the plot set - and oddly these contours appear on the publisher plot. However, no contours from this specific existing ground surface will display using the PUBLISHER.
Are there alternative ways to batch plot a set of drawings that I can explore without further cost?

Nov 13, 2011i'm using DBP to fill a 48 page catalog in ventura 10 with 500 product descriptions (up to 600 characters) and small .jpg photos in tables (six columns). the data is .dbf format (dbaseIV from access2000) including a memo-field and .jpg links. depending on the sort order and/or filtering (selection of ) the items it either:
1. works like a dream or
2. most commonly, the tables (including the headers) have additional empty rows around each item
with exactly the same data just sorted differently the results can be different (with or without empty rows). the result is 100% repeatable using the same recipe/sorting.i can't see any difference in the .txt files apart from the sort order of the table contents.the .jpgs are all 600 x 600px and the frame preset to 2.1cm x 2.1 cm..default page fonts all set to 7pt to avoid row height > page size
InDesign :: How To Package Out A File
Feb 24, 2014Every time I try to package out a file in InDesign its gets about 3/4s of the way through and then shows the "Cannot copy necessary font(s)" dialog box. I have read on certain discussions it may be a font issue. When I remove ALL fonts from my computer font library and use only preset Adobe fonts, Arial Regular for example, it works fine, then as soon as I use a font say, Helvetica Neue Light, I get the error. I have only recently upgraded to CC and all of the existing fonts in my library have always worked fine and never been a problem when packaging... However due to the tests with different fonts, it seems to be a font issue and not a links/filename issue like other people have had.
