AutoCAD .NET :: How To Use Publisher For Plotting Windows
Jan 20, 2013
How i can use Publisher for plotting a window .I don't can use the plotting system. (I have many paper size and rotation so i have error eInvalidPlot)
So i have to use PDFCreator and plot a window after another.I have check the DSD.. but i don't see the choose of window (see only filenam or layout)(I can create a view for my plot). Any example for demonstrate the system of publisher ?
Running AutoCAD 2013 on Windows 7 64-bit OS Dell desktop.Whenever I plot 1 in 4 of the times, AutoCAD freezes, usually crashing. Happens both when either typing the command or using pulldown option.Freezes before I get a chance to choose which printer/plotter but plotting with HP Designjet T1120.
I am assuming downloading the HP Universal driver wouldn't do me any good. I am not crashing after I send anything to plot, but before, immediately after the 'Plot' window comes up, it freezes.
Two of our computers have windows 7 and we are unable to publish or if we plot we have to wait until that page is completed before sending another page otherwise only some the information shows up when printed (ie. no dimensions or no title block). This does not happen on the other computer in the office which still has windows XP.
So, I finally got a 3d solid part published with the one attachement point (autodeskconnectionpoint). Looks great in object viewer with a pipe connected to it. However, put it in profile, and my 8' tall item shows like 1.5ft tall.
content file available, though this won't let me attach it?
My drawings contain active linework, civil 3D data (contours, etc.), and references. When a plot is executed without the publisher - everything appears normal. Specifically, all contours appear on plots and PDFs.
However, when plotting using the AutoCAD publisher (to batch many plots together, 70 or so plan sheets in 4 drawings) some Civil 3D data does not appear. Most contours are shown - however contours from a specific surface (existing ground surface) do not appear.
The publisher result is the same whether using a PDF driver or physical plot driver - these contours do not appear.
The style used to display the existing contours is used on other surfaces within the plot set - and oddly these contours appear on the publisher plot. However, no contours from this specific existing ground surface will display using the PUBLISHER.
Are there alternative ways to batch plot a set of drawings that I can explore without further cost?
My supervisor needs to view the autodesk inventor designs (I create) in his PC without installing the whole inventor package. Its something like using eDrawings to view designs created with solidworks.
I have created a model on autocad which I have imported into autodesk inventor publisher...for my project I have to simulate an object's assembly and subsequent dissassembly. But to begin with my model is assembled so i have exploded it and now I want to put it back together - however I can't get the program to remember the position each component was originally in so when i try and move each component back it's all over the place and looks awful. Is there a way to mark an object's intial location so that i can move it back to exactly that place?
Hello all, i got a real bad problem with GIF saving in Photoshop : everytime i am saving a GIF file and then i import it in Publisher, i get an ugly white border around the object even though the object is perfectly cut using the pen tool. And i used every kind of settings available but no noticeable change. Also when i save in PNG the border gets a little smaller but it's still here.
So my question would be where does that come from, if it comes from photoshop then could you give me soome tips to get rif of it? Or is it just my publisher doc/impression settings?
I am an artist and have been asked to create 11 color drawings for a book. I created the drawings and scanned them to my iMac OS 10.8. I used cs4 to correct the color and crop the images. I saved the images in CMYK fomat and emailed them to the publisher. The publisher received the, is able to open the images and when they try to make any changes to the images they are not able to save the changes. I did make the images read and write, so they aren't protected.
My question is why are they not able to save the cropping changes they require?
Need to change the .ai file to something they can use in MS Publisher so they can still edit it.
I have tried everything and searched everything trough.. Can't figure out how to do it, or if it is even possible?
They wrote me this:
Normally when saving a program you also have the choice to import or export to a different document type, saving the original formats.
I need you to try and export the adobe files to MS Publisher format. We do not want to buy Adobe Illustrator. We do not want it used for creaing designs, logos etc as we need to be able to make changes at any time. PLease try exporting to MS Publisher.
Exporting the document should allow us to keep layout and formats without having to convert to eps and then import through an add on filter.
I would like the brochure and all art work done to date saved in this format.
I'm attempting to plot a drawing with a 3d shape and a title block around it. I would like for the occluded lines to not be drawn therefore I'm using the hidden visual style and set shade plot to hidden as well.
My problem arises from the quality of the plot to PDF versus the quality coming out of a printer. It is just a 8.5x11 page. The pdf comes out with horrible anti-aliasing and jagged lines, whereas the print is entirely smooth. Is there something simple I'm missing? It would be even better to find a way to make the plot to PDF come out in vector format! I know it is possible to show the layers and have them vectorized in a PDF... How is this done?
While working in Lightroom today when I scroll down on the left side panel in grid view in the Library module the last item is Collections and the Publisher box is no longer there?
i'm using DBP to fill a 48 page catalog in ventura 10 with 500 product descriptions (up to 600 characters) and small .jpg photos in tables (six columns). the data is .dbf format (dbaseIV from access2000) including a memo-field and .jpg links. depending on the sort order and/or filtering (selection of ) the items it either:
1. works like a dream or
2. most commonly, the tables (including the headers) have additional empty rows around each item
with exactly the same data just sorted differently the results can be different (with or without empty rows). the result is 100% repeatable using the same recipe/sorting.i can't see any difference in the .txt files apart from the sort order of the table contents.the .jpgs are all 600 x 600px and the frame preset to 2.1cm x 2.1 cm..default page fonts all set to 7pt to avoid row height > page size
This just started happening after I downloaded DWG TruViewer. I am working on LT 2008 using Fusionware on a MacPro. I needed the viewer to convert newer drawings from an architect. Now, when I double click on a drawing in Explorer a separate AutoCad window opens for each drawing I need open. I prefer to just go up to Window>and click on the one I need at that time, especially if I have several to switch between because it is easier to see the file name I want.
SDI is set to 0
Taskbar is set to 0
Relaunched the program
I can't open files using File>Open because the program crashed each time and Autodesk is not issuing anymore fixes for 2008. (Yes, we should upgrade but there is no money budgeted)
Right-click on any .dwg file and go to Properties>General>Change> and select the AutoCad LT launcher as the preferred program
Since I am in Window 7 instead of XP the File Types tab has been removed from Folder Options so I can't fix it that way.
So, why did this change? FYI that stupid TruViewer made lots of unnecessay changes to my AutoCad and Explorer programs that I am still trying to sort out like changing the file icon and hiding the file extensions. Are they trying to make it hard to find files or what?
And next, how can I reset the default so that double clicking on a .dwg in Explorer opens in already open AutoCad window?
AutoCAD LT 2011 has been installed in a Windows XP computer. When logging into this computer using the Windows Administrator Account, all AutoCAD LT 2011 features are available.
But when logging into this same computer using the Windows Limited / Restricted Account, all AutoCAD LT 2011 features are missing. How can we get all the AutoCAD LT 2011 features back using the Windows Limited / Restricted Account?
Why can't Windows Explorer show thumbnail previews of DNG's on my Windows 8.1 64bit Pc. I assume is has something to do with not having the DNG codec. However, on Adobe's website it says their DNG codec only works on Windows 7.
I have plotted to PDF before, but on this particular drawing I'm losing some part of the drawing.
Two viewports at different scales. The larger viewport (zoomed in) plots perfectly. The smaller viewport (zoomed out) only plots the CAD layer (green line), but does not plot the Shapefiles (green dots and gray lines). Shapefiles are on their own layer, that layer is turned on. These are the only three items in model space; the black text and arrows are in paper space on the layout tab and render correctly in the large viewport.
Is it a scale issue with the shapefiles in the small viewport or a plotting issue?
I am using the geo map command to display a hybrid sat and road map behind a dwg in 2014Map3D. It displays fine on my monitor, but when I plot (whether to a plotter or to pdf) it does not include the background image map, just the vector part of the dwg. Is this a limitation of the geomap command or is it something I can fix? Usually my work is in locations where I can get raster topo and this plots fine as a background, however on the odd occasion the work is somewhere in the world where raster topo is not available and geomap is better than nothing. I can always import the dwg into Global Mapper from Blue Marble and bring in background imaging there, but then I can't plot at a specific scale.
When I plot to a pdf file from MEP 2012, all the floor plan and basic lines and text sheets plot to about a 200k file, but when I plot the spec sheet I end up with a file size of 5meg and up. I am using word2cad to import large spec sheets from word.
I'm having issues plotting using dwg to pdf. It prints perfect printing to my printer but when I create a pdf using dwg to pdf it does not print what is previewed.
I created block with solid hatches for my mark/schedule boxes and detail bubbles so I wouldn't have to trim whats behind it.
I am trying to embolden lineweights to stand out on the drawing, without them getting in the way when viewing in the drawing. I have set the lineweight in the layer dialogue box to the max size (2.xx mm), checked the "plot lineweights" in the printer dialogue and switched between none and grayscale (this is so the assigned colors will fade out in the background). Nothing I have tried thus far has changed the print output on any of my printers (virtual PDF, HP2100, HP2600n, HP2840 they are all very old). I have read through the lweight command and help sections, but I don't need it assigning the lw just getting it to properly print.
One possible problem: is the line weight relative to scale or is it absolute? I am printing at 1/8" scale, and that can't change.
I have been working with a large scale architectural drawing provided by my cleint's architects. Since I usually work in black on a white screen, I have been working from paperspace with the viewport set to.monochrome. Up until Thursday, whenever I printed to PDF, I would get a monochome image which is what is supposed to happen.
However, In order to provide my client with a colour coded image, I changed some settings and printed a colour PDF. Now I cannot get it to go back to Monochrome. What setting has changed. I opened an earlier version of the same drawing and output a PDF from that drawing - black and white PDF. Try it from the current version of the drawing, it comes out in colour.
I have compared page setup settings, output setting, viewport 'MO' settings, they are all the same. How do I get back to black and white output.
Some of my linework is not plotting. This only happens on one of my .dwg files (that I can tell), and only on certain layers. Recently drawn linework only on a few layers simply does not show up on preview or on hard copy, regardless of which printer I print to or which configuration I use. It's not a computer issue because the same issue happens if I open the file on a different computer. All layers are thawed, on and set to print.
However, if I Xref the file into a new drawing, then the linework prints. Here is a copy of the error message I receive.

I'am a quite expert Autocad user, but I have now a version wich seems to have some problem in plotting using Monochrome.ctb or Grayscale.ctb
If I choose one (It's the same problem with both), all the coloured layer in the layout visualization become black of course, but if I preview or I print it, the pdf created has all layer's colours.
of course the PLOT WITH PLOT STYLES box is checked.
I have attached a FDO image and created two different views in paperspace. One at 1:7500 and the other one at 1:2500. All is good until i want to plot the drawing. The native dwg objects are plotted right but the FDO image is plotted at the same scale in both mviews ?
I'm putting together an elevation where I want to be able to pdf the drawing in color but I'm having trouble getting the colors to plot. For instance I'm using color 37 and in the plot style table editor the color is set to 37, pen # is "automatic" and virtual pen # is "37". When I plot to a pdf that color doesn't even show on the plot. What am I missing here?
when i try to plot a layout or modelspace with a pdf xref'ed into it, to a new pdf, the resulting pdf is illegible - first off it becomes rasterized even though it's a vector document produced from word, and secondly it is extremely low quality. I have looked far and wide for settings that might work with this but I have come up empty -
